We have investigated the effect of the pad surface characteristics such as roughness, groove density and wear of pad on within wafer non-uniformity(WIWNU) in chemical mechanical polishing(CMP). We found that WIWNU increases as pad surface roughness($R_{pk}$; Reduced peak height) increases in an early stage of polishing. But after polishing time goes to a certain extent, WIWNU decreases as uniformity of pad surface roughness. Also, groove of pad has effect on relative pad stiffness although original mechanical properties of pad are unchanged by grooving. WIWNU decreases as relative pad stiffness decreases. In addition, conditioning process causes non-uniform wear of pad during in CMP. The profile of pad wear has a significant effect on WIWNU.

The shaking-off the dust from balustrade of higher stories may cause the higher risk of falling accident rate. Main purpose of this study was to quantify an effect of balustrade heights and blanket types on possibility of falling accident relative to one's motor controllability during shaking-off the dust of the blanket from balcony. Female participants, who consisted of total 10 under condition of balustrade height of 3 kinds (90 cm, 110 cm, 130 cm) and blanket types (0.4 kg, 1.6 kg, 3 kg, 200⁎230 cm), performed repetitively the task of shaking-off the dust of the blanket. Vertical position and velocity of center of mass due to increase of blanket weigh in case of balustrade height of 90 cm was increased, but vertical ground reaction force was decreased swiftly. That is, the higher balustrade height was, the less distance difference between center of mass and center of pressure was.
Objective: This study aims to draw the characteristics of occupational accidents occurred in cabling work, and assess accident severity based on occupational injury data. Background: Accident factors and accident risk are different by the place of work in cabling work. Field managers require information on accident prevention that can be easily understood by workers. However, there has been a lack of studies that focus on cabling work in Korea. Method: This study classifies 450 injured persons caused in cabling work by process, and analyzes the characteristics of occupational injuries from the aspects of age, work experience and accident type. This study also analyzes accident frequency and severity of injury. Results: Results show that preparing/finishing (33.3%) was the most common type of cabling process in injuries, followed by maintenance (28.4%), routing/income (23.1%) and wiring/installation (15.1%) process. The critical incidents in the level of risk management were falls from height in the routing/incoming process, and falls from height in the maintenance process. And, incidents ranked as 'High' level of risk management were slips and trips, fall from height and vehicle incident in the preparing/finishing process, and fall from height in the wiring/installation process. Conclusion and Application: The relative frequency of accident and its severity by working process serve as important information for accident prevention, and are critical for determining priorities in preventive measures.
Effects of sintering temperature and time on the phase formation, the characteristics of sintering and electrical behaviors of NASICON compounds with Na3Zr2Si2PO12 and Na3.2Zr1.3Si2.2P0.8O10.5 compositions synthesized by solid state reaction were investigated. Maximum relative densities of 96% and 91% were obtained for Na3Zr2Si2PO12 and Na3.2Zr1.3Si2.2P0.8O10.5 compounds, respectively. Complex impedance analysis in a frequency range below 4 MHz was performed to measure the ionic conductivity and migration barrier height of the compounds at RT-30$0^{\circ}C$. The maximum ionic conductivity and the minimum migration barrier height were 0.45 ohm-1cm-1 and 0.07 eV, respectively. The migration barrier height of the high temperature form (space group : R3c) is about 30-40% of that of the low temperature form (space group : C2/c) in two NASICON compounds. Ionic conductivity increases with increasing sinterability, and the presence of glass phase in Na3.2Zr1.3Si2.2P0.8O10.5 compounds lowers significantly ionic conductivity at temperatures above 14$0^{\circ}C$.
Mass and flow resistance in a square ribbed microchannel have been studied numerically using the Lattice Boltzmann Method. It has been build up on two dimensional nine velocity vectors model with single relaxation time method called the Lattice Bhatnagor-Gross-Krook model. To analyze the roughness effect on the flow resistance namely the friction factor and mass flow has been discussed at the slip flow regime, $0.01{\leq}Kn{\leq}0.10$, where Kn is the Knudsen number. The wall roughness is considered by square microelements with a relative roughness height up to maximum 10% of channel height. The velocity profiles in terms of streamlines near the riblets are demonstrated to be responsible for the roughness effect. It is found that the roughness effect leads to increase the flow resistance with roughness height but it is decreased significantly with increasing the space between two roughness elements as well as the Knudsen number. In addition, the mass flow decreased linearly with increasing both roughness height and gap but significantly changed at the slip flow regime.
This experiment was conducted to study on the morphological change and growth retardation of Korean Lawograss (Zoysia japonica Steud.) under various shading degrees. Dada of plant height, No. of tiller, No. of stolon, No. of rhizome and fresh weight were measured on the l47days after transplanting in 1991. The results are summarized as follows. Plant height was increased at 30% shading degree or over, Maximum plant height was observed at 60% shadeing degree which was 24.2 cm. while full sunlight(control) was most shorted as 10.1 cm. Plant height rapidly was increased as to shading degree increase. The decreasing rate was lower in tiller number and stolon number(top parts of plant) compared with the rhizome number(under ground part) was severely decreased at 30% to 60% of shading. To increase the shading degree, rhizome number was most severely decreased under shading degrees. As degree of shading increase to 30%, 60% and 90%, fresh weight decrease to 66%, 44%, 22% to full sunlight, respectively. Relative growth retadation of Korean lawngrass was decreased by the order of number of rhizome, fresh weight, number of tiller, number of stolon. And these characters were highly significant accord-ing to the different shading degrees.
A field experiment was carried out to determine the effects of grazing stage and intensity on the forage production and nutritive value in orchardgrass dominant pasture, 1989 and 1990. The grazing stages were 20- 25m, 30-35cm and 40-45cm of plant height, and high and medium grazing intensity were set by the number of growing cows (initial body weight: 230-250kg), which was adJusted according to the pasture production. The high level of grazing intensity was 150% of medium intensity. Annual grazing frequency was 10 times in 20-25cm. 8 times in 30-35cm. and 6 times in 40-45cm of plant height. Dry matter(DM) yield was increased with increasing of plant height at grazing : 7,090kg in 20-25cm 7,882kg in 30-35n and 8,260 kgha in 40-45cm of height. Higher DM was observed at medium grazing intensity. In spring, daily DM production was more vigorous than those in summer and autumn season. Cmde protein (CP), digestible DM, and DM intake were decreased with increasing of plant height at grazing. CP content was 25.8% in 20-25cm 22.4% in 30-35m and 19.2% in 40-45cm, while the contents of neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber were increased with higher plant height. Relative feed value was 11 1.2 in 20-25cm, 104.4 in 30-35n and 99.6 in 40-45cm. Also nutritive value of pre-grazing pasture plants was remarkably higher than that of post-grazing, and not significant differences of nutritive value were found between grazing intensity. From the above mults, it may be concluded that optimum plant height for grazing was 20-25cm and 30- 35cm in pasture mixtures dominated by orchardgms, and medium grazing intensity was very desirable for pasture productivity.
During a 5-yr period, 1994-1998, pre-weaning and weaning data were collected on 591 calves produced by mating either straightbred Jersey, straightbred Limousin or $F_1$ (Limousin${\times}$Jersey) bulls to mature purebred Jersey or Limousin cows. Traits recorded included birth and weaning weight, height, length, girth, fat depth and a measure of muscle (ratio of stifle to hip width expressed as a percentage). All traits were analyzed assuming a model with sire and dam random effects that included effects of year and date of birth, sex, breed and year${\times}$sex interaction. Main effects were generally significant with few exceptions. Direct genetic effects were large for weight, height, girth and muscle with a breed trend from purebred Jersey (small) to purebred Limousin (large). At weaning, the maternal effect of the Jersey dam was positive for weight (10.9${\pm}$4.9 kg), girth (3.7${\pm}$1.0 cm) and muscle (6.0${\pm}$0.9%). Heterosis was highly significant and positive only for fat depth (1.5${\pm}$0.2 mm) with the $F_1$ progeny being the fattest, followed by the backcrosses, then purebred Jersey and purebred Limousin. Also, significant (p<0.001) but negative heterosis was observed for weight, girth and muscle. The change in ranking for fat depth relative to other traits is a reflection of the large heterotic effects relative to direct effects on fat depth. Epistatic effects were not significant on any trait at birth or weaning. This study has indicated the possibility of exploiting the positive heterotic and maternal effects for fat depth and muscularity to meet specific meat quality and quantity demand by consumers.
Highly precision body measurements represent basic data required by industry and researches who wish to utilize information about the human body. The proficiency and expertise of the measurers have a significant influence on the error and accuracy of data when various parts from multiple subjects' bodies are measured. Therefore, in order to measure accurate body measurements (when measuring bodies directly), it is necessary to conduct objective analyses on errors. This study calculated the Relative Technical Error of Measurement (%TEM) using data that measured each of 24 subjects and discussed errors and methods to reduce errors by conducting comparison analysis based on measured items and objects. The result of analysis indicated that the errors based on age and gender of the objects of measurement were minor; however, there were comparatively distinct differences in measured errors based on measured items. 'Right and left Shoulder Angle' for all measured subjects displayed the greatest errors and standard deviations. 'Height' dimension, Lateral Malleolus Height and Head Height had big errors; in addition, 'Circumference', Neck Base Circumference and Armscye Circumference also had big errors. More careful measurements of such items with big errors require additional educational plan such as a proposal for more objective and detailed measurement methods. Items with small errors but big standard deviations such as Waist Circumference, Calf Circumference, Minimum Leg Circumference, Chest Circumference, Hip Circumference and Waist Circumference confirmed that errors for them greatly decreased with repeated experiments and resultant measurers increased proficiency; consequently, repeated measuring experiments for these items greatly enhance accuracy.
