2007년 제정된 표준 성장도표에 의한 소아 및 청소년 비만 유병율 (Obesity prevalence in children and adolescence by newly developed 2007 Korean National Growth Chart)

  • AIMS: Korean National Growth Chart was newly developed at 2007. Prevalence of obesity is expected to be changed according to reference data. This study was performed to compare the prevalence of obesity based on the newly developed growth curve with that of previous data. We also investigate the incidence of obesity, overweight, and normal criteria by two kinds of growth curves. Method: We obtained weight, height from 438 middle school students and 1786 high school students. We divided enrolled students into four groups (middle school boys, middle school girls, high school boys, high school girls). The obese, over weight group was defined as BMI(body mass index) more than 95th, 85th${\sim}$94th percentile respectively for age and sex. Obesity by relative weight was defined more than 20% of ideal body weight. We compare the prevalence of obesity in each group by the newly developed Korean National Growth Chart in 2007 and that in 1998. Result: Prevalence of obesity by BMI based on 2007 Korean National Growth Chart and that in 1998 were 8.2-12.9% and 9.0-20.4% respectively. The concordance rate were 99.0%-100% in obese group and 45.0%-91.9% in overweight group according to two kinds of reference data. Prevalence of obesity by relative weight was 11.7-23.0% that was same between 2007 Korean National Growth Chart and that in 1998 except middle school boys group. Conclusion: We found that there is a decrease in prevalence of Obesity by BMI based on 2007 Korean National Growth Chart. It is necessary to evaluate correlation between criteria for obesity and obesity related comorbid conditions for finding proper BMI or relative weight cut off value to prevent obesity and obesity related complications effectively.

건축자재 내의 수분이 곰팡이 성장에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Moisture on Mold Growth in Building Materials)

  • Recently, the indoor air pollution by microbes such as fungi and mites have become a concern as important research topic on indoor air quality. Fungal growth is significantly affected by humidity. In this study, we examined the influence of relative humidity on the surface of building materials and the water content of building materials on the fungal growth rate by measuring the mycelium length of fungi in the fungal detector placed on the surface of building materials. As a result, even if the relative humidity on the surface of building materials is identical, the more water content of building materials is, the more fungi grow faster. It was suggested that fungal growth rate depends on not only the relative humidity on the surface of building materials but also the water content of building materials.

우리나라 주요수종의 Allometry와 개체목 흉고단면적 생장모델 개발 (Development of Allometry and Individual Basal Area Growth Model for Major Species in Korea)

  • Allometry and basal area equations were developed with various tree measurement variables for the major species; Quercus variabilis, Quercus mongolica, Pinus koraiensis and Larix leptolepis in Korea. For allometry models, the relationships between total height-DBH, crown width-DBH, height to the widest portion of the crown-total height, and height to base of crown-total height were investigated. Multiple regression methods were used to relate annual basal area growth to tree variables of initial size (DBH, total height, and crown width), relative size (relative diameter and relative height) as well as competition measures (competition index, crown class, and live crown ratio).

광도가 곰솔 유묘의 생장과 물질생산에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Light Intensity on Growth and Biomass Production of Pinus thunbergii Deedings)

  • 본 실험은 광도가 곰솔(Pinus thunbergii Parl.) 유묘의 생장과 물질생산에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가를 알고자 자연전광이 100, 50, 30, 10% 및 2%로 조절된 야외포지에서 1997년 5월부터 1998년 10월까지 실시되었다. 곰솔의 수고생장 및 근원경생장은 1,2차년을 통하여 자연전광에서 가장 높악으며, 50%에서의 수고생장은 1,2차년도 각각 대조구의 96.4, 88.9%로, 근원경생장은 각각 94.1 77.6%로 조상되엇다, 30%이하로 상대광도가 낮아질수록 수고 및 근원경생장이 급격히 감소 되었으며, 근원경생장의 감소율이 수고생장의 감소율보다 높게 나타났다. 2차년도의 2%에서는 시험 유묘 모두가 고사하였다. 물질생산량도 광도가 낮아짐에 따라 감소되었으며, 1, 2차년도 모두 뿌리의 감소율이 잎, 줄기보다 높았고, 1차년도에는 줄기의 감소율이, 2차년도에는 잎이 감소율이 가장 낮았다. T/R율은 1차년도에는 50%에서,3.55, 2차년도에는 10%에서 4.88로 가장 높았다.

ADDITIVE NATURE OF DIGESTIBLE ENERGY AND RELATIVE ENERGY VALUES OF DIFFERENT ENERGY-YIELDING NUTRIENTS IN PRACTICAL TROUT DIETS

  • A study is reported which investigated the additive nature of digestible energy (DE) from dietary nutrients and to estimate the relative energy values of different energy-yielding nutrients in practical trout diets. A growth study was conducted over 12 weeks with 6 diets. Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were fed diets once a day ad libitum. Digestible energy values determined and calculated had direct relationship indicating additive nature of such values for feed ingredients. Overall growth performance was best in a diet containing 33% digestible protein (DP) with a DP/DE ratio of 18.6. A reduction in digestible protein level with the same DP/DE rat io led to a significant decrease in growth and feed efficiency. The increase of 7% of lipid with concomitant decrease in protein resulted in the relative gain of 130% in growth and nutrient retention, suggesting that 1 g of lipid is equal to about 1.3 g of proteins in terms of net energetic value. Replacement of 10% of dietary lipid by carbohydrates led to a slight decrease in energy retention efficiency but to a great increase in lipid retention efficiency (130%) showing that dietary carbohydrates led to increased lipogenesis.

채소용 육묘 상토로서 지렁이분립의 이용 (Utilization of Earthworm Cast as a Component of Plant Growth Medium for Tomato)

  • 본 연구에서는 음식물쓰레기와 축분의 vermicomposting 처리로 얻어지는 지렁이 분립을 이용하여 채소의 육묘상토 자재로서의 이용가능성을 조사하기 위해, 시판상토 100%, 지렁이분립 100%, 지렁이분립 50% + vermiculite 50%, 지렁이분립 50% + Perlite 50% 및 지렁이분립 40% + vermiculite 30% + perlite 30%의 각각 다른 지렁이분립 혼합비율이 토마토(Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) 유묘의 생육에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 토마토 생육 2주째까지는 시판상토구가 전 처리구에서 초장, 엽수, 경경, 엽중, 경중, 지상부중, 근중 및 생물수량이 가장 높았지만, 이후부터는 지렁이 분립 100%구가 다른 처리구보다 유의하게 높았으며 (p<0.05), 시판상토구에 비해서도 양호한 생육을 나타내었다. 지렁이 분립과 Vermiculite를 혼합한 구는 시판상토구와 유사한 생육을 나타내었다. 한편 생물수량의 상대생장율(BYRGR), 지상부 무게의 상대생장율(RGR) 및 지하부무게의 상대생장율(RWGR)은 생육 4주 째까지 지렁이 분립 100% 구가 다른 처리구 보다 유의하게 높았다(P<0.05).

표고 톱밥재배 시 상대습도가 자실체 생육에 미치는 영향 (Effects of growth characteristics of 'Nongjingo'(Lentinula edodes) according to relative humidity with sawdust cultivation)

  • 표고 시설재배에 있어 적정 상대습도를 구명하여 고품질 버섯생산 데이터를 제시하기 위해 상대습도를 달리 처리한 결과는 다음과 같다. 상대습도에 따른 생육특성을 조사한 결과, 갓의 명도값은 RH65%에서 높았고, 적색도는 RH95%에서 높았으며, 황색도는 상대습도 간 유의적 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 갓의 경도는 RH95%에서 높은 경향이었다. 갓직경은 RH95%에서 높게 측정되었고, 갓두께는 RH95%에서 높았다. 대길이의 경우 유의적 차이가 나타나지 않았지만 상대습도가 증가할수록 대길이가 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 대직경은 RH95%에서 높게 측정되었다. 수량은 RH95%에서 유의적으로 높게 측정되었다. 화고발생률은 상대습도가 낮아질수록 높게 조사되었다. 위의 결과를 통해 RH95%에서 표고 자실체의 크기, 수량이 높게 조사되었지만 버섯의 갓색이 어둡고 화고 발생 비율이 낮은 결과를 나타내어 시설재배에서 고품질의 화고 버섯을 생산할 수 있는 상대습도는 65%와 85%인 것으로 판단되었다.

습도 변화에 따른 에어로졸의 농도 및 크기의 변화경향 파악 (Change of the Size-Resolved Aerosol Concentration Due to Relative Humidity)

  • In this study, the atmospheric aerosol concentration measured at different relative humidity levels was analyzed. Using an optical particle counter, PM10 and PM2.5 concentration as well as particle size distribution were measured and the relation between these size resolved data and relative humidity was studied. The results showed that mass concentration increases as relative humidity increases. The comparison between PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 showed that the fine particles grow more than coarse particles as relative humidity increases. The results also showed that PM10-2.5 and relative humidity do not show close correlation, which means that the mass increase of PM10 at high relative humidity is mainly due to the growth of PM2.5.
