This paper focuses on automatic image registration between EO (Electro-Optical) and IR (InfraRed) satellite images with different spectral properties using block-based approach and simple preprocessing technique to enhance the performance of feature matching. If unpreprocessed EO and IR images from Kompsat-3A satellite were applied to local feature matching algorithms(Scale Invariant Feature Transform, Speed-Up Robust Feature, etc.), image registration algorithm generally failed because of few detected feature points or mismatched pairs despite of many detected feature points. In this paper, we proposed a new image registration method which improved the performance of feature matching with block-based registration process on 9-divided image and pre-processing technique based on adaptive histogram equalization. The proposed method showed better performance than without our proposed technique on visual inspection and I-RMSE. This study can be used for automatic image registration between various images acquired from different sensors.
In this study, we propose an improved group location tracking scheme (GLS) called integrated GLS (IGLS) which, in addition to the group location registration of the GLS, sends an integrated group registration message to a virtual visitor location register (VVLR) instead of sending an individual group registration message. This integrated procedure of proposed scheme leads registration cost of group registration and group location registration to be reduced significantly. Numerical results demonstrate that our proposed IGLS outperforms conventional GLS and delayed GLS (dGLS). The IGLS can be applied effectively on public transportation systems such as subway, train and bus.

Image registration is the process for finding the correct geometrical transformation that brings one image in precise spatial correspondence with another image. There are limitations on the visualization of simple overlay between two different modality images because two different modality images have different anatomical information, resolution, and viewpoint. In this paper, various image registration methods and their applications are introduced. With the recent advance of medical imaging device, image registration is used actively in diagnosis support, treatment planning, surgery guidance and monitoring the disease progression.
Objectives Approximately 2000 phase-in substances are subject to registration according to the Act on the Registration and Evaluation, etc. of Chemical Substances (K-REACH), and the expected testing cost is 2.06 trillion Korean won assuming all the test data required for registration are acquired. The extent to which these enormous test costs can be reduced depends on the availability of existing data that can be used to meet the requirements of the K-REACH we examined the current availability of test data that can be used for chemical substance registration. Methods We analyzed the possibility of utilizing the existing test data obtained from 16 reference databases for 369 of 518 kinds of phase-in substances subject to registration that were reported in last October 2014. Results The physical and chemical properties were available for 57.1% of substances, whereas data regarding human hazards and environmental hazards were available at considerably lower rates, 8.5% and 11.8%, respectively. Conclusions Physical and chemical properties were available for a fairly high proportion, whereas human hazards and environmental hazards were reported for considerably fewer substances.

Image Guided Surgery(IGS) system has been developed to provide exquisite and objective information to surgeons for surgical operation process. It is necessary that registration technique is important to match between 3D image model reconstructed from image modalities and the object operated by surgeon. Majority techniques of registration in IGS system have been used by recognizing fiducial markers placed on the object. However, this method has been criticized due to its invasive protocol inserting fiducial markers in patient's bone. Therefore, shape-based registration technique using geometric characteristics of the object has been invested to improve the limitation of IGS system. During Total Knee Replacement(TKR) operation, it is challenge to register with high accuracy by using shape-based registration because the area to acquire sample data from knee is limited. We have developed region-based 3D registration technique based on anatomical landmarks on the object and this registration algorithm was evaluated in femur model. It was found that region-based algorithm can improve the accuracy in 3D registration. We expect that this technique can efficiently improve the IGS system.

This study compares transformation algorithms for co-registration of terrestrial laser scan data. Pair-wise transformation which is used for transformation of scan data from more than two different view accumulates errors. ICP algorithm commonly used for co-registration between scan data needs initial geometry information. And it is difficult to co-register simultaneously because of too many control points when managing scan at the same time. Therefore, this study perform global registration technique using matching points. Matching points are extracted automatically from intensity image by SIFT and global registration is performed using GP analysis. There are advantages for operation speed, accuracy, automation in suggested global registration algorithm. Through the result from it, registration algorithms can be developed by considering accuracy and speed.

The Mobile IP protocol allows IP hosts to move between different networks without changing their IP addresses. The Mobile IP systems supporting the local registration were introduced to reduce the number of times when a home registration with the remotely located Home Agent is needed. The local registration Mobile IP protocol enhanced the performance by processing the MN\`s registration requests at a local agent. However. the local registration approach may consider other aspects of the Mobile IP systems as the FA fault tolerance. In this paper, we will briefly review previous protocols to support the FA fault tolerance in hierarchical local registration Mobile If system and will propose a fault tolerance protocol with backup FA in hierarchical local registration mobile IP t() enhance the efficiency of such systems against Foreign Agent failures.
In this study, we consider performance analysis of distance-based registration (DBR). DBR causes a mobile station (MS) to register its location when the distance between the current base station (BS) and the BS in which it last registered exceeds a distance threshold D. In general, DBR has some advantages over the other registration schemes but has a tendency to causes an MS to register more frequently than zone-based registration (ZBR) that is adopted in most of mobile communication systems. The DBR with implicit registration (DBIR) was proposed to improve the performance of DBR. In this study, we point out some problems of the previous analytical model based on continuous time Markov chain and analyze exact performance of the DBIR. We show that the DBIR always outperforms the DBR by using our exact analytical model.

Nowadays, as-is BIM generation has been popularly adopted in the architecture, engineering, construction and facility management (AEC/FM) industries. In order to generate a 3D as-is BIM of a structural component, current methods require a registration process that merges different sets of point cloud data obtained from multiple locations, which is time-consuming and registration error-prone. To tackle this limitation, this study proposes a registration-free 3D point cloud data acquisition technique for as-is BIM generation. In this study, small-size mirrors that rotate in both horizontal and vertical direction are used to enable the registration-free data acquisition technique. First, a geometric model that defines the relationship among the mirrors, the laser scanner and the target component is developed. Second, determinations of optimal laser scanner location and mirror location are performed based on the developed geometrical model. To validate the proposed registration-free as-is BIM generation technique, simulation tests are conducted on key construction components including a PC slab and a structural wall. The result demonstrates that the registration-free point cloud data acquisition technique can be applicable in various construction elements including PC elements and structural components for as-is BIM generation.
In 2015, Constitutional court of Korea declared that the Resident Registration Act was unconformable to Constitution. Therefore, the Resident Registration Act have to amend the article before 2018 for allowing to change one's Resident Registration Number. The most expensive cost to change one's Resident Registration Number System is the uncomfortable cost of changing the Number. This study invests the uncomfortable cost of changing the Number by Willingness to pay Method. In result, the cost of changing all 13 numbers would \ 160,000, the cost of changing 7 numbers would \ 108,000, and the cost of making Second Registration Number would \ 110,000. This result could be used to analyze the B/C ratio of changing the Resident Registration Number System.
