Development of an automatic TIG welding system incorporating a vision sensor and torch control mechanism leads to an improved welding quality and greater production efficiency. The automatic welding system should be greatly restricted in its size and weight for the LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) storage tank and also provide a unique torch rotating mechanism which keeps the torch tip in the constant position while the angle is changed continuously to maintain the welding torch substantially perpendicular to the weld line. The developed system is driven by two translation axes X, Z and one rotational axis. A moving line window method is adopted to the image recognition of the corrugated membranes with specular reflection. This method decides original laser stripe patterns in image which is affected by multi-reflection. A self-teaching algorithm, which guides the automatic welding machine with the information provided by the CCD camera without any previous learning of a reference trajectory, was developed for tracking the corrugated membrane of the LNG tank along the weld line.
A robust intelligent algorithm for AGV navigation control is presented here based on both magnetic and gyro sensors to track a reference trajectory. Since the proposed system uses an intermittent array of short magnetic tape strips, it lends itself to a very easy installation and maintenance compared to other types of positioning references such as electric wire, magnets, RF and laser beacons. The neural network is to predict the lateral deviation of the AGV in the intervals where no magnetic tape references are available. Further, the use of intelligent control ensures a robust and flexible control performance. Computer simulation of AGV control demonstrates its adequate tracking performances even where the sensor information is not available. Real experiments using Samsung AGV are also on the way for real verification
In this paperwe develop a real-time simulator for direct drive cooperative robot by using OpenGL in a Windows NT based system. This simulator is composed of 2 parts, a display part and an interface part. In the display part the robot is modelled and rendered in 3D space. To do this OpenGL, a kind of graphic library, is used for rendering and animating robots and kinematics gives the information of the current robot configuration. The control and the feedback data are sent and received via the interface part. In real time simulation interfacing part needs fast data transfer rate and good nosic immunity. In experiment we have simulated 2-link direct drive cooperative robots using the trajectory tracking algorithm proposed in reference.
PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) current control is a most inner loop of electromechanical driving systems and it plays a foundation role in the hierarchy's control loop of several mechanical machine systems. In this paper, a simple RMRAC control scheme for the PMSM is proposed in the synchronous frame. In the synchronous current model, the input signal is composed of as a calculated voltage by adaptive laws and system disturbances. The gains of feed-forward and feed-back controller are estimated by the proposed e-modification methods respectively, where the disturbances are assumed as filtered current tracking errors. After the estimation of the disturbances from the tracking errors, the corresponding voltage is fed forward to control input to compensate for the disturbances. The proposed method is robust to high frequency disturbances and has a fast dynamic response to time varying reference current trajectory. It also shows a good real-time performance duo to it's simplicity of control structure. Through the simulations considering several cases of external disturbances and experimental results, efficiency of the proposed method is verified
The paper treats the nonlinear robust control of Chua's circuit having Chuar's diode as an element based on the internal model principle. The Chua's diode has unknown nonlinear parameters and the circuits parameters are alos assumend unknown. Nonlinear regulator equations are established to obtain 3-fold equilibrium equations on which the output error is zero. Also an internal model of the 3-fold exosystem is constructed for obtaining the control law. Pole Placement method is used for obtaining the feeback control law. Simulation results are presented for tracking the sinusoidal and constant reference input signal. Asymptotic trajectory control and the suppression of chaotic motion in spite of uncertainties in the system are accomplished.
This paper presents a new variable structure model following control algorithm for control of manipulators. The reference model is a simple double integrators and the acceleration input for the robot manipulator consists of a proportional and derivative controller for the purpose of trajectory tracking. The control algorithm is derived by using Lyapunov stability theory instead of S.S < O, as is usual in the current VSS controller design. This proposed control algorithm does not require good knowledge of the parameter in the inertia matrix and is easily extendable to robot manipulators with a higher number of links. Also, the new algorithm is computationally fast because of not requiring the matrix inversion. The computer simulation was carried out to evaluate the performance of the proposed VSMFC.
This raper proposes a simple robust nonlinear controller design method based on Lyapunov stability for tracking reference welding trajectory and velocity of a three wheel welding mobile robot (WMR). Control law is obtained from Lyapunov control function to ensure asymptotical stability of the system. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is shown through simulation results.
In this paper, we present a robust motion controller based on Adaptive-Fuzzy technique is proposed that multifunctional vehicle(MVR) for two DOF mobile robot can perform detailed inspection of physical conditions of sewage pipes as well as can effectively repair the damaged portions of the inner walls. The main difficulties in controlling this multifunctional robot vehicles lie in the fact that vehicles usually have three degrees of freedom in position and orientation in spite of having only two degrees of freedom for motion control in tracking mode. Decomposition of error between the reference posture and the current posture makes control of speed and steering possible. The Gyro compass part and Inclonometer of the robot is configured in order to realize position of robot. The proposed Adaptive-Fuzzy motion controller has two main characteristics: The one guarantees that the MVR follows the reference trajectory; the other one compensates the dynamics of the MVR. Simulation results are provided to validate the proposed controller. Experiments have been used to verify the effectiveness and robustness of the motion controller.
The uncertainties of an atmospheric re-entry flight with respect to stability and controllability are aerodynamic error, measurement error of the angle of attack, variation of dynamic pressure, wind, and trim position of the control surfaces, etc. During hypersonic flight, a future angle of attack is biased from a nominal schedule. In order words, because the angle of attack is estimated from the navigation data, estimation error occurs due to wind, atmospheric density variation, etc. Error models used in this study, include a standard deviation of +-3 sigma, and are the normal distribution of statistics. This paper shows the appraisement of tracking performance onto the reference trajectory, satisfaction of the initial condition of TAEM about the re-entry system.
This work proposes a new method for describing the hysteresis non-linearity of a piezoelectric actuator. The hysteresis behaviour of piezoelectric actuators, including the minor loop trajectory, are modeled by geometrical relationship between a reference major loop and its minor loops. This hysteresis model is transformed into inverse hysteresis model in order to output compensated voltage with regard to the given input displacement. A feedforward neural network, which is trained by a feedback PID control module, is incorporated to the inverse hysteresis model to compensate unknown dynamics of the piezoelectric system. To show the feasibility of the proposed feedforward-feedback controller, some experiments have been carried out and the tracking performance was compared to that of simple PTD controller.
