Pulse condition is the essential division for conducting pulse diagnosis which is one of the most fundamental and important diagnostics in traditional Korean/Chinese medicine. We studied the pulse condition referred to classics of traditional medicine for a full understanding in present time and come to a conclusion like below. The reference to pulse condition was concluded to 'twenty four pulse conditions' which is the fundamental conception generally accepted in present age since it had first mentioned in "Huangdi Neijing" and after it had passed through "Nanjing", "pulse pattern identification-chapter of normal pulse"of Zhang Zhongjing and reached "Maijing"of Wang Shuhe. Although medical partitioners had different views to some extent about pulse condition, there were no significant differences in the main theoretical frame. Even though there had been a diversity of opinions on the classification of pulse-condition between various medical practitioners, the method of Dae-dae and the method of systematic endeavored by Zhou Xueting and Zhou Xuehai who were medical scholars in the Ch'ing dynasty have been a criterion for the classification of pulse-condition up to date. We were able to recognize that the change of pulse condition caused by pathological situation should be compared to physiological pulse condition for detecting the deficiency and excess by researching the analyzing methods of pulse condition mentioned in the "Lingshu", and the book of Hua Shou and Zhou Xuehai). To sum up, first normal pulse which is the physiological pulse condition should be a standard for detecting physiological pulse condition. Secondly, Zhou Xueting insisted that relaxed pulse should be a standard pulse condition for detecting normal pulse.

This paper proposed a PFM(pulse-frequency modulator) boost converter which has dual pulse-width. The PFM boost converter is composed of BGR(band gap voltage reference generating circuit), voltage reference generating circuit, soft-start circuit, error amplifier, high-speed comparator, inductor current sensing circuit and pulse-width generator. Converter has different inductor peak current so it has wider load current range and smaller output voltage ripple. Proposed PFM boost converter generates 18V output voltage with input voltage of 3.7V and it has load current range of 0.1~300mA. Simulation results show 0.43% output voltage ripple at ligh load mode and 0.79% output voltage ripple at heavy load mode. Converter has efficiency 85% at light lode mode and it has maximum 86.4% at 20mA load current.

Ni $TiO_2$ nano composite coatings were fabricated by using pulse current electrodeposition technique at 100 Hz pulse frequency with a constant 50% pulse duty cycles and reference was taken with respect to the direct current electrodeposition. The properties of the composite coatings were investigated by using SEM, XRD, Wear test and Vicker's microhardness test. XRD patterns of pulse deposited composite coatings were found to be changed from preferred (100) orientation to the random mixed orientations. The results demonstrated that the Vickers microhardness of composite coatings under pulse condition was significantly improved than that of pure nickel coating as well as direct current electrodeposited Ni-$TiO_2$ composite coatings. Wear tracks have shown the less plastic deformation at pulse condition with reduced coefficient of friction. Nickel matrix grain size was also found to be lower in pulse plated composite coatings as compared to direct current electrodeposited composite coatings.
High voltage direct current(HVDC) transmission system uses the phase controlled rectifier triggered by means of IPC(individual phase control) or EPC(equidistant pulse control). Most HVDC system has adopted EPC method that can solve the harmonic instability problem of IPC method in weak power system. But EPC has inherent indirect synchronizing problem requiring the closed loop control. This paper presents the new gate pulse generating method for 12-pulse HVDC converter, which combines IPC with EPC. Simulation and test results are presented. The basic concept is that it generates the gating pulse for 12-pulse converter by synthesizing the internal phase reference using the frequency and phase information of a sin91e phase voltage. To ensure the reliability of the external phase input, Potential transformer that detects the phase voltage has redundancy. Using fault detecting algorithm the healthy input is always guaranteed. And the frequency compensation function was reinforced.
Pulse oximetry is a non-invasive method for monitoring how much oxygenated hemoglobin is present in the blood. The principle of pulse oximetry is based on the red infrared light adsorption characteristics of oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin. Even through the convenience of a pulse oximeter, its weak signal-to-noise ratio against motion artifacts and low perfusion makes it difficult to be accepted by execs devices. Several researchers have suggested the use of an adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) algorithm. They have demonstrated that ANC is feasible for reducing the effects of motion artifacts. Masimo Corporation developed a discrete saturation transformation (DST) algorithm that uses a reference signal and ANC. In commercial devices, it is very hard to escape it because Masimo's patents are very powerful and a better method is yet to be developed. This study proposes a new method that can measure noise saturation as well as accurate oxygen saturation from signals with high motion artifacts without using ANC and DST. The proposed algorithm can extract a normal signal without noise from a signal with motion artifacts. The reference signal from a pulse oximeter simulator was used for the evaluation of our proposed algorithm and achieved good results.
Due to several advantages of Pulse Width Modulated(PWM) Converter, such as unity power factor with low-harmonics and energy regeneration, PWM converter has been widely used in industrial application. In every application of energy conversion equipment, the design and implementation must be carried out considering performance and cost. High quality with low cost is the best choice for energy conversion equipment. High dc link voltage can reduce inverter and motor side losses and system dimension compare to low dc link voltage. Analog controller can make PWM converter cheaper without considerable degradation of the performance than digital controller. This paper shows the simplified analog controller-for 600V dc link voltage using stationary reference frame control and the simulation results.

Increasing demands on precision machining of free-form surface have necessitated that the tool to move not only position error as small as possible, but also with smoothly varying feedrates. This paper presents new algorithm for high precision 3D(3-dimensional) NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline) interpolation in the reference-pulse technique. Based o the minimum path error strategy, interpolation algorithm was designed to follow the NURBS curve. Using this algorithm a real-time 3D NURBS interpolator was developed in software. The algorithm implemented in a PC showed promising results in interpolation error and speed performance. It is expected that this can be applied to the CNC systems for the high precision machining of complex shapes.
In this paper an experimental study of a spray created by two impinging jets is presented utilizing a novel two-reference-beam double-pulse holographic technique. Visualization of the overall spray pattern as well as measurements on the size and velocity of the droplets were performed with the special emphasis on the effect of physical properties of liquids. The overall spray pattern clearly revealed the inherent wave nature In the disintegration process of this type of atomization. The structure of liquid elements near the impingement point is indicative of the mechanisms of the disintegration process. Surface tension plays an important role in the droplet size without any noticeable effect on the spray pattern, whereas viscosity affects the structure without any significant effect on the droplet sire. The droplet velocities were not affected by liquid properties.
This paper presents new coherent and non-coherent detection methods for the IEEE 802.15.4a low-rate ultra-wideband physical layer with forward error correction (FEC) coding techniques. The coherent detection method involving channel estimation is based on the correlation characteristics of the preamble signal. A coherent receiver uses novel iterated selective-rake (IT-SRAKE) to detect 2-bit data in a non-line-of-sight channel. The non-coherent detection method that does not involve channel estimation employs a 2-bit data detection scheme using modified transmitted reference pulse cluster (M-TRPC) methods. To compare the two schemes, we have designed an IT-SRAKE receiver and a MTRPC receiver using an IEEE 802.15.4a physical layer. Simulation results show the performance of IT-SRAKE is better than that of the M-TRPC by 3-9 dB.

Increasing demands on precision machining of free-form surfaces have necessitated the tool to move not only with position error as small as possible, but also with smoothly varying feedrates. In this paper, linear, circular and spline interpolators were developed in reference-pulse type using PC. M-SAM and M-DAM were designed by the comparison and analysis of previous interpolation methods. Spline interpolator was designed to follow the free-form curves. To apply to the real cutting process, constant feedrate compensation and acceleration-deceleration compensation were conceived. Finally, its performance was tested using retrofitted milling machine. As a result, new interpolation algorithm is favorable in precision machining of free-form curves.
