  • This study pursues the problems of plan photogrammetry which is widely used in somatotyping at present, and find out a method which can improve accuracy of measurement on the basis of principles and mechanisms of photography-the basic foundation of the photographic analysis methods. As a result, this study proposes a new method which is based on the reference point method and perspective coordinate system. And the test measurement was operated to compare the measurement accuracy of the proposed method and the method based on reference grid screen method and perpendicular coordinate system which is commonly used at present. The result of this test measurement showed that the proposed method has higher accuracy. Two reasons can be pointed out for the improvement of measuring accuracy. The first reason is that the proposed perspective coordinate system reduces the perspective distortion of photography. And second reason is that measuring points can be closely placed to the scale and coordinate reference plan of measurement by the proposed reference point method which make possible to place measuring object (or person) at the center of scale and coordinate reference plan by utilizing reference points of measurement in the three dimensional space not on screen.

  • In this paper, a optimal designing methodology is proposed to determine the parameters for skip-lot sampling plan of type SkSP-2 plan with double sampling plan as reference plan, when the lifetime of the product follows generalized exponential distribution. The two points on the operating characteristic curve approach are used to find the optimal parameters for the proposed plan. The plan parameters are determined so as to minimize the average sample number subject to satisfying simultaneously both producer and consumer risks at the acceptable and limiting quality levels respectively.

  • Second, the necessity of adopting subject divisional plan is to secure enough subject librarians and large space These necessities must be fulfilled prior to adopting the subject divisional plan. Third subject divisional plan model for efficient reference service of university library is 'wide-area subject divisional plan model'. 1) In the case of central library, the space model of wide-area subject divisional plan is programmed as undergraduate library for the undergraduate students. And each subject libraries is operated as research library for the professors and graduate students. 2) In central library, the collection model of wide-area subject divisional plan is practiced as offering reference and general education centered data for undergraduate students 'study. And each subject libraries is furnished with research papers, recent journals, and various major-related data. 3) The human resource model of wide-area subject divisional plan is applicated by arranging appropriate librarians at the right place. In the case of central library, the reference librarians and librarians who educate the users and take charge of function are set in to help undergraduate students with their study. Subject library needs to secure subject librarians, librarians who take charge of function, and graduate students who are related to the subject as student assistant. Then it is possible to discriminate reference service by subjects and users.

  • Background: There have been much efforts to develop the proper and realistic machine Quality Assurance (QA) reflecting on real Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) plan. In this work we propose and test a special VMAT plan of plan-class specific (pcsr) QA, as a machine QA so that it might be a good solution to supplement weak point of present machine QA to make it more realistic for VMAT treatment. Materials and Methods: We divided human body into 5 treatment sites: brain, head and neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. One plan for each treatment site was selected from real VMAT cases and contours were mapped into the computational human phantom where the same plan as real VMAT plan was created and called plan-class specific reference (pcsr) QA plan. We delivered this pcsr QA plan on a daily basis over the full research period and tracked how much MLC movement and dosimetric error occurred in regular delivery. Several real patients under treatments were also tracked to test the usefulness of pcsr QA through comparisons between them. We used dynalog file viewer (DFV) and Dynalog file to analyze position and speed of individual MLC leaf. The gamma pass rate from portal dosimetry for different gamma criteria was analyzed to evaluate analyze dosimetric accuracy. Results and Discussion: The maxRMS of MLC position error for all plans were all within the tolerance limit of < 0.35 cm and the positional variation of maxPEs for both pcsr and real plans were observed very stable over the research session. Daily variations of maxRMS of MLC speed error and gamma pass rate for real VMAT plans were observed very comparable to those in their pcsr plans in good acceptable fluctuation. Conclusion: We believe that the newly proposed pcsr QA would be useful and helpful to predict the mid-term quality of real VMAT treatment delivery.

  • GMT secondary mirror system consists of 7 segmented adaptive mirrors. Each segment consists of a thin shell mirror, actuators and a reference body. The thin shell has a few millimeters of thickness so that it can be easily bent by push and pull force of actuators to compensate the wavefront disturbance of light due to air turbulence. The one end of actuator is supported by the reference body and the other end is adapted to this thin shell. One of critical role of the reference body is to provide the reference surface for the thin shell actuators. Therefore, the reference body is one of key components to succeed in development of GMT ASM. Recently, Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) and University of Arizona (UA) has signed a contract that they will cooperate to develop the first set of off-axis reference body for GMT ASM. This project started August 2021 and will be finished in Dec. 2022. The reference body has total 675 holes to accommodate actuators and 144 pockets for lightweighting. The rear surface has a curved rib shape with radius of curvature of 4387 mm with offset of 128.32mm. Since this reference body is placed just above the thin shell so that the front surface shape needs to be close to that of thin shell. The front surface has a concave off-axis asphere, of which radius of curvature is 4165.99 mm and off-axis distance is about 1088 mm. The material is Zerodur CTE class 1 (CTE=0.05 ppm/oC) from SCHOTT. All the actuator holes and pockets are machined normal to the front surface. It is a very complex challenging optical elements that involves sophisticated machining process as well as accurate metrology. After finishing the fabrication of reference body in KRISS, it will be shipped to UA for final touches and finally sent to Adoptica in Italy, in early 2023. This paper presets the development plan for the GMT ASM Reference Body and relevant fabrication and metrology plans.
