A Lossless compression of Medical Images using Global & Local redundancy (전역적.국부적 중복성을 이용한 의료영상의 무손실 압축)

  • In this paper, we studied two image characteristics, similarity and smoothness, which give rise to local and global redundancy in image representation. The similarty means that any patterns in the image repeat itself anywhere in the rest of image. The smoothness means that the gray level values within a given block vary gradually rather than abruptly. In this sense, we propose a lossless medical image compression scheme which exploits both types of redundancy. This method segments the image into variable size blocks and encodes them depending on characteristics of the block. The proposed compression schemes works better than other compression schemes such as the huffman, the arithmetic, the Lempel-Ziv and the lossless scheme of JPEG.

  • We consider inertial navigation system (INS) sensor redundancy and propose a method which uses singular value decomposition to detect and isolate faults when even two sensors have faults simultaneously. When redundant sensor configuration is given, such as symmetric configuration in INS, the range space and null space of configuration matrix are determined. We use null space of configuration matrix and define 21 reference fault vectors which include 6 one-fault vectors and 15 two-fault vectors. Measurements are projected into null space of measurement matrix and compared with 21 normalized reference fault vectors, which determines fault detection and isolation.

  • This paper presents compression rate improvement for SPIHT algorithm though redundancy bit removing. Proposed SPIHT algorithm uses a method to select of optimized threshold from feature of wavelet transform coefficients and removes sign bit if coefficient of LL area. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves more improvement bit rate and more fast progressive transmission with low bit rate.

  • Systems reliability can be improved by using redundancy and/or developing more reliable components. This papaer considers a joint optimization of both alternatives for a series system. It is shown that the n-stage optimization problem can be decomposed into n single stage subproblem. Each subproblem is further transformed into a univariate optimization problem for which a simple and efficient solution method is developed.

  • This paper presents a method for establishing an initial value of redundancy optimization problem to maximize system reliability of multiconstraint mixed parallel-series system. The constraints not be linear. This paper proposes a new initial value which is near to optimal solution by considering the relative median rate of the unreliability and amount of consumed resources for each subsystem. To show the efficiency of this model. numerical example and comparison with Narasimhalu is illustrated in chapter 4.

  • Inertial navigation system with hardware redundancy must use FDI(Fault Detection and Isolation) method to remove the influence of faulty sensors. Until now, several FDI methods such as PSA(Parity Space Approach), GLT(Generalized Likelihood ratio Test) and OPT(Optimal Parity vector Test) method are generally used. However, because these FDI methods only consider the situation that the system has one faulty sensor, these methods cannot be directly adapted for the system with two faulty sensors. To solve this problem, in this paper, PSA method is analyzed and based on this result, new FDI method called EPSA is proposed to consider a detection and an isolation of two faulty sensors in inertial navigation system.

  • In this paper, the embedded zero-tree wavelet image compression method using multi- threshold is proposed, which can reduce the scanning and symbol redundancy of the existing embedded zero-tree wavelet (EZW) method and enable more efficient coding. In the proposed scheme, a multi-threshold is constructed with the maximum absolute values from each subband decomposed by the wavelet transforms of the input image data. The multi-threshold values are compared with the threshold value T$_1$ in each pass in Successive Approximation Quantization (SAQ) to select the significant subbands, which are only used for the subsequent coding processes, therefore, can reduce the coding redundancy in the existing EZW. By the experimental results, it is verified that the proposed multi-threshold EZW method shows superior performances to the existing EZW method.

  • This paper proposes an integrated recovery approach applying retry and rollback techniques to recover the TMR failure. Combining the time redundancy techniques with W system is apparently effective to recover the TMR failure(or masked error) primarily caused by transient faults. These policies need fewer reconfigurations at the cost of extra time required for the time redundant schemes. The optimal numbers of retry and rollback to minimize the mean execution time of tasks are derived for the proposed method through computing the likelihoods of all possible states of the failed system. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through examining certain numerical examples and simulations conducted with a variety of parameters governing environmental characteristics.

  • In this paper, we proposes a new load-sharing algorithm with a ATmega2560 based digital communication. Proposed algorithm is different from conventional analog method. The high speed communication digital control is performed. To apply the digital communication and real-time control for time-sharing token bus method, we implemented high efficient load-sharing and redundancy. Also this system make down the price by auto ID algorithm and system response is improved by controller's voltage and current integral value sharing. In parallel system prototype, each module have controller and performed load-sharing according to master module integral value. In this paper, we verify the validity of proposed algorithm using PSIM program and prototype.

  • It is extremely lacking and urgently required that the method of constructing the Gene Regulatory Network (GRN) from RNA-Sequencing data (RNA-Seq) because of Big-Data and GRN in Big-Data has obtained substantial observation as the interactions among relevant featured genes and their regulations. We propose newly the computational comparative feature patterns selection method by implementing a minimum-redundancy maximum-relevancy (MRMR) filter the support vector machine-recursive feature elimination (SVM-RFE) with Intensity-dependent normalization (DEGSEQ) as a preprocessor for emphasizing equal preciseness in RNA-seq in Big-Data. We found out the proposed algorithm might be more scalable and convenient because of all libraries in R package and be more improved in terms of the time consuming in Big-Data and minimum-redundancy maximum-relevancy of a set of feature patterns at the same time.
