LID facilities do not consider environmental factors, and due to inappropriate vegetation planting causing degradation in efficiency due to plant damage and difficulty in maintenance. Therefore, in this study, assessment of impact environmental factor by seasonal variation of chlorophyll and growth of vegetation planted in LID technologies and change of pollutant reduction were conducted. In the case of B-SJ and B-RI, growth rate decreased after summer (August), and B-MG showed steady growth until autumn (September). Chlorophyll was found to increase during spring season while it decreased during autumn season. The chlorophyll concentration was found to affect the plant growth pattern. TN reduction efficiency was highest with greater than 80% efficiency in summer, and it was analyzed that plants were identified as the main factor affecting the seasonal reduction efficiency of TN. Also, temperature and relative humidity were analyzed to affect plant growth, activity and pollutant removal efficiency. Plant type and growth pattern are considered as factors to be considered in selection of appropriate plant types in LID technologies.
The central government in Korea has pursued a policy to privatize municipal solid waste treatment facilities in order to enhance the effectiveness of public financial management in recent years. To understand the intentions of local governments on this policy, the survey with questionnaires on 37 out of 256 local governments was made in October, 2007. The results were analyzed and compared in 6 classified policy areas. The results showed that local government had enough financial status to operate the facilities with proper services and had the opinion with positive management in finance with increasing rate of prospective views. Among the facilities operated by local governments, the satisfaction levels for landfill(46.2%) and incineration(40.0%) were relatively higher. However those for recycling and food waste resource facilities were not satisfied with showing lower rate of satisfaction. The priority of privatization in consideration among them were following in order of food waste resource plants(76.2%), incinerators(63.6%), and recycling facilities(53.9%) and the most considerable reason to privatize them was due to resolve financial problems(59.7%). They thought and expected that the privatization would provide cost reduction effects in local governments and also be easier to achieve the environmental goals. To enhance such privatization, expanding more incentives by central government would be essential as shown in the investigation of this survey.
In order to achieve carbon neutrality, it is necessary to commercialize and popularize carbon dioxide capture technology, so the purpose of this study is to put forward the design of public facilities suitable for public environment. In the design direction of public facilities for carbon capture and environmental purification, the application of carbon capture technology in air, the application of carbon capture and adsorption materials, and carbon reduction recycling are selected for development. In order to achieve carbon neutrality, this study develops a new concept of public facility design which is different from the existing public facilities in public space. From this point of view, it has great enlightenment significance. Public facilities adopting carbon-neutral technology are environmentally friendly public facilities that conform to the times, and can be installed in parks, roads and other spaces. With the rest of citizens and the role of communities, it is expected to contribute to popularization and activation.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop and assess the impact of an integrated infection control education program on the awareness, attitudes, and performance of infection control among caregivers in long-term care facilities. Methods: Participants were recruited from two long-term care facilities with 25 caregivers in both the experimental group and the control group. This study used non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental pre-post design. The effectiveness of a developed Integrated Infection Control Education Program was evaluated based on infection control awareness, attitudes, and performance. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 28.0 through descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, Fisher's exact tests, and independent t-tests. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in the degree of awareness (t=-5.00, p<.001), attitude (t=-4.91, p<.001), and performance (t=-6.66, p<.001) of infection control between the two groups. Conclusion: Given these results, the integrated infection control education program significantly improved infection control awareness, attitudes, and performance among caregivers in long-term care facilities. This study is noteworthy because it provided comprehensive education on infection control practices to caregivers in environments that are particularly susceptible to infections, especially following COVID-19. This educational program is actively utilized and validated in practice, it would enhance the infection control performance of caregivers, thereby reducing infection rates within facilities, shortening the length of stay for elderly residents in long term care facilities, and contributing to the reduction of healthcare costs.
The sewage treatment plants to be built to improve the water quality of the Mankyung River will total 11, of which combined capacity will reach $39,850m^3/day$, and saying in detail, 5 at Gunsan city, 2 at Iksan city, 1 at Kimje city and 3 at Wanju gun, The scenario for water quality improvement was developed, considering the conditions of plant operation ratio and the accomplishment of the water quality target (BOD 4.4 mg/L, T-P 0.356 mg/L) at the end of the watershed of Mankyung B was predicted, making use of QUAL2E model. As a result of prediction using QUAL2E model based on scenarios with 70% and 100% of operation ratio, respectively, at 11 plants in 2010, the water quality at the watershed of Mankyung B was estimated at 4.322 mg/L which was lower than the target of BOD 4.4 mg/L, indicating the target water quality was achieved, when it comes to 70% of operation ratio, But in case of T-P, it was estimated at 0.565 mg/L, which was higher than the target. When it comes to 100% of operation ratio, T-P also was 0.563 mg/L which exceeded the target, 0.356 mg/L. As indicated above, the effect of water quality improvement appeared very insignificant, which was attributable to the limit of small scale sewage treatment plant in total reduction capacity. Hence, the measures for additional reduction in a bid to achieve the target water quality of T-P at the designated location need to be taken, and the measures to build the Sewage treatment facilities at the place where the pollution is significantly caused by T-P appeared to be required as well.

Combined sewer overflows(CSOs) are themselves a significant source of water pollution. Therefore, the control of urban drainage for CSOs reduction and receiving water quality protection is needed. Examples in combined sewer systems include downstream storage facilities that detain runoff during periods of high flow and allow the detained water to be conveyed by an interceptor sewer to a centralized treatment plant during periods of low flow. The design of such facilities as stormwater detention storage is highly dependant on the temporal variability of storage capacity available(which is influenced by the duration of interevent dry periods) as well as the infiltration capacity of soil and recovery of depression storage. As a result, a contiunous approach is required to adequately size such facilities. This study for the continuous long-term analysis of urban dranage system used analytical Probabilistic model based on derived probability distribution theory. As an alternative to the modeling of urban drainage system for planning or screening level analysis of runoff control alternatives, this model have evolved that offer much ease and flexibility in terms of computation while considering long-term meteorology. This study presented rainfall and runoff characteristics or the subject area using analytical Probabilistic model. Runoff characteristics manifasted the unique characteristics of the subject area with the infiltration capacity of soil and recovery of depression storage and was examined appropriately by sensitivity analysis. This study presented the average annual COSs and number of COSs when the interceptor capacity is in the range 3xDWF(dry weather flow). Also, calculated the average annual mass of pollutant lost in CSOs using Event Mean Concentration. Finally, this study presented a dicision of storage volume for CSOs reduction and water quality protection.
This study is to develop the suitable hydrologic models for determination of the size and location of detention storage facilities to restrain stormwater runoff in urban areas. Fictitious areas of two levels are considered to seize the hydrologic response characteristics. A one-square-kilometer area is selected for the catchment level, and a 10-square-kilometer area consisting of 10 catchments is adapted at the watershed level as representative of urban drainage area. In this analysis, different rainfall frequencies, land uses, drainage patterns, basin shapes and detention storage policies are considered. Flow reduction effect of detention storage facilities is deduced from storage ratio and detention basin factor. A substantial saving in detention storage volumes is achieved when the detention storage is planned at the watershed level than the catchment level. For the application of real watersheds, two watersheds in Seoul metropolitan area-Jamshil 2, Seongnae 1-are selected on the basis of hydrologic response characteristics. Through the regression analysis between dimensionless detention storage volume, dimensionless upstream area ratio and reduction rate of storage ratio, the regression equations to determine the size and location of detention storage facilities are presented.
The object ofthis study was to test for STORMSYS process that composed Catch Basin and Stormsys(three units: vortex solids separator, filter media bed and vegetated filter strips). It could be applied to treat the first-flush non-point pollution materials on the road(especially, motorway). This study investigated that the runoff characteristics of non-point pollutions containing the heavy metal(Fe, Zn and Cu) by rainfall showed relatively high pollution concentration in the early-stage storm runoff on the road, which seems to be caused by the vehicular traffic, and showed the rapid reduction of pollution concentration on the basis of about 5mm rainfall volume. As the number of the non-rainy days were increased, the pollution concentration by storm runoff was increased, also. As a test result of this process, the average removal efficiency of BOD, $COD_{mn}$, SS, T-N and T-P over the testing period were 92.7%,88.6%,97.4%,93.0% and 93.3%, respectively. Also, the average removal efficiency of n-Hexane, Fe, Zn and Cu were 86.7%, 96.1%, 84.4% and 78.4%, respectively. As shown in the characteristics of storm runoff, the non-point pollution materials have high pollution concentration in the early-stage storm runoff on the road, the installation of STORMSYS process is expected to reduce considerable amount of non-point pollutions.

So, this study is examined at about 20 sites on the installation time and method of soundproofing facilities for reduction of the sound accompanied with a tunnel blasting work.
