This paper shows a study of the efficiency of expansive additive and shrinkage reducing admixture in controlling restrained shrinkage cracking of high performance concrete at early age. Free autogenous shrinkage test of $100{\times}100{\times}400mm$ concrete specimens and simulated completely-restrained test with VRTM(variable restraint testing machine) were performed. Creep and autogenous shrinkage of high-performance concrete with and without expansive additive and shrinkage reducing admixture were investigated by experiments that provided data on free autogenous shrinkage and restrained shrinkage. The results showed that the addition of expansive additive and shrinkage reducing admixture effectively reduced autogenous shrinkage and tensile stress in the restrained conditions. Also, it was found that the shrinkage stress was relaxed by 90% in high-performance concrete with and without expansive additive and shrinkage reducing admixtures at early age.

In axisymmetric tube reducing process for thin sheet metal tubes, the reduction ration of diameter is an important factor in the process design. For very thin sheet metal tubes, tube reducing cannot be successfully employed due to wrinkling of the edge portion of a tube as well as due to buckling of its rest portion. In the present study, thin sheet metal tubes are subjected to internal pressure during the tube reducing process in order to increase the forming limits. Analysis is made for the sound flow deformation in nonsteady tube reducing considering the normal anisotropy. Experiments are carried out for brass tubes. The present study is shown to give an effective guide line in designing the tube reducing process for very thin-walled sheet metal tubes. Hpwever, it is suggested that an analysis for instability should be made to design the process more effectively.

In general, the drying shrinkage of polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powders is much higher than that of unmodified mortar. The purpose of this study is to reduce the drying shringkage of polymer-modified mortars using a redispersible poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate) (EVA) powder, which is widely used for the manufacture of prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products at present. Polymer-modified mortars using the redispersible EVA powder with powdered shrinkage-reducing agent were prepared with various polymer-cement ratios and shrinkage-reducing agent contents, and tested for drying shrinkage and strength. From the test results, the drying shrinkage of the redispersible EVA powder-modified mortars with a powdered shrinkage agent is remarkably reduced with increasing shrinkage-reducing agent content, and becomes approximately a half of that of the redispersible EVA powder-modified mortars with the same polymer-cement ratios and without the shrinkage-reducing agent at a shrinkage-reducing agent content of 6%.

In this study, comparison of the quality standard of chemical admixtures between Korea and China is conducted. It is classified into three types of water reducing agents: standard, delayed, and accelerated according to the sensitivity and strength improvement of the sensitivity and strength of the agent. However, Chinese standards classify reducing agents only as standard, high efficiency, and high performance, and do not add AE agents into water reducing agent. On the other hand, that of Korea has a classification regulation for reducing agents added with AE agents.

Several process parameters were studied to ascertain the effect on degradation of sugar cane bagasse in relation to the production of cellulase enzyme and reducing sugars by Solid Substrate Fermentation (SSF) and Submerged Culture Fermentation (SCF) of Aspergillus terreus SUK-1. The effect of air-flow rate (0-1.3 v/v/m), of different ratios of substrate weight to liquid volume (1:6, 1:10, 1:20, and 1:30 w/v, g/ml), scale-up effect (10, 20, and 100 times of 1:10 ration, w/v) and the effect of temperature (30, 40, 50, and $60^{\circ}C$) in SSF were studied. Air-flow rate of 1.0 v/v/m gave the highest enzyme activity (FPase 0.25 IU/ml, CMCase 1.24 IU/ml) and reducing sugars concentration (0.72 mg/ml). Experiment using 1:10 ratio (w/v) was found to support maximum cellulase activity (FPase 0.58 IU/ml, CMCase 1.97 IU/ml) and reducing sugar concentration (1.23 mg/ml). Scaling-up the ratio of 1:10(w/v) by a factor of 20 gave the highest cellulase activity (FPase 0.71 IU/ml, CMCase 2.25 IU/ml) and reducing sugar concentration (3.67 mg/ml). The optimum temperature for cellulase activity and reducing sugar production was $50^{\circ}C$(FPase 0.792 IU/ml, CMCase 2.25 IU/ml and 3.85 mg/ml for reducing sugar concentration). For SCF, the activity of cellulase enzyme and reducing sugar concentration was found to be lower than that obtained for SSF. The highest cellulase activity obtained in SCF was 50% lower than the highest cellulase activity in SSF, while for reducing sugar concentration, the highest concentration obtained in SCF was 90% lower than that obtained in SSF.

The pressure reducing valve for water is controlled by the load of the compression spring and the force of the fluid acting on the diaphragm of the stem. Repeated upward and downward reciprocation of the pressure-reducing valve stem damages the diaphragm, resulting in leakage. In this study, we designed a stem without a diaphragm and adjusted the stiffness of the compressing spring. In order to select the spring stiffness, springs offering a stiffness of -20%, -10%, 0%, and 10% with respect to the stiffness of the compression spring attached to the existing pressure reducing valve stiffness. A prototype for the pressure reducing valve was fabricated and the pressure change was evaluated for the target static pressure (6 bar) by testing the pressure characteristics after mounting the modified stem and each compression spring. Evaluation of the pressure characteristics was carried out using ASSE 1003 and KS B 6153. In addition, the flow rates were compared by internal flow analysis of the conventional pressure reducing valve and the pressure reducing valve using the modified stems, and the flow analysis was performed using Solidworks flow simulation 2018. The spring stiffness was constantly discharged at the target static pressure of 3.793 kgf/mm, and the flow rate was increased by about 15% compared with the conventional pressure reducing valve.
In this study, we investigated the effect of reaction factors on enzymatic hydrolysis of Hizikia fusiforme, which is brown algae in marine biomass resource, using commercial enzymes. The composition of H. fusiforme is 38.9% of reducing sugar, 4.8% of moisture, 17.8% of ash, and 38.5% of others. In the condition of 1-5% substrate, the increase of substrate concentration enhanced the increase of reducing sugar formation; however, the hydrolysis yield did not increase after 24 h. After reaction of 75 h, conversion yield of reducing sugar were obtained to 16.45%, 17.99%, and 14.55% at 1, 2.5, and 5% substrate, respectively. As a result of effect of enzyme amount, the formation of reducing sugar did not show considerable change at 1% substrate. However, in the condition of 2.5% substrate, the great change of reducing sugar formation was observed by the increase of enzyme amount. The conversion yields of reducing sugar were obtained to 18.77% and 22.83% at 1% and 2.5% substrate with 30% enzyme, respectively. As a result of heat treatment of biomass, the high yield was obtained in 2.5% substrate and the yields were increased to 0.06-7.2% by the heat treatment. This result will provide the basic information for production process of biofuels and chemicals from marine biomass H. fusiforme.
Baker's yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae) was used as a biocatalyst for eco-friendly indigo dyeing and the reducing power of yeast according to the alkaline solution type was compared. NaOH solution, lye, and buffer solution were used as alkaline solutions. The reducing power(K/S value, oxidation/reduction potential(ORP), pH) was monitored according to the elapsed time including the initiation of reduction, peak reduction, and the end of reduction. In all alkaline solutions, it was confirmed that yeast can be used reducing agent in indigo reduction dyeing. The pH stability and reducing power of buffer solution was better than that of NaOH alone. Although, pH and ORP stability of the reduction bath in lye were better than that of buffer solution, K/S value in buffer solution was higher compared to lye. The reducing power was different depending on the starting pH of the dye bath, and it was better when starting at pH 10.70 than at pH 11.30. Fastnesses to washing, rubbing, and light were relatively good with above rating 4. There was no significant difference in colorfastness depending on the type of alkaline solutions.

The air temperature-reducing effects by irrigation reservoir in urban area was investigated at Ilwol Pond (IWP). Air temperature and humidity data were observed at 10minute interval from September 1th, 2008 to August 31th, 2009. Air temperature of IWP and Sumsung Apartment (SAT) were analyzed to examine air temperature-reducing effects by IWP in terms of diurnal and seasonal variation. As a result, the average air temperature difference between IWP and SAT was $0.6^{\circ}C$ and the nighttime shows more air temperature-reducing effects. The dominant air temperature-reducing effects by IWP occurred at fall night and summer daytime. However, the air temperature-reducing effects by IWP is lower to that by Arboretum (ARB).
