반복재하후 미액상화 풍화토 지반의 변형 거동 (Post-Cyclic Deformation Behavior of Non-Liquefied Weathered Soils)

  • Weathered soil is one of the most representative soils in Korea. In this study, a series of cyclic triaxial tests was carried out to predict the post-cyclic deformation behavior of weathered soils in case of non-liquefaction. Excess pore pressure response during cyclic loading and volumetric strain during the dissipation of excess pore pressure were measured varying the confining pressure, relative density and cyclic stress ratio. Based on the test results, it Is found that the modified excess pore pressure ratio, excess pore pressure ratio normalized by cyclic stress ratio, is uniquely correlated with the number of cycles irrespective of confining pressure and cyclic stress ratio. Using the newly proposed MEPPR(modified excess pore pressure ratio) concept, it is possible to easily evaluate the excess pore pressure and the settlement of weathered soils due to cyclic loading by greatly reduced number of tests. It is also verified that the reconsolidation volumetric strain is independent of the way how the excess pore pressure was generated.

공기보조식 (air-assisted) 플래쉬 분무의 분무 각 확대 특성 연구 (Analysis of spray cone angle of air assisted flash atomization)

  • When the water jets heated up to the saturation temperature at a high line pressure are sprayed into a reduced (atmospheric) pressure through an air-assisted nozzle, the jets experience sudden exposure into a reduced pressure, get superheated and produce steam bubbles while atomization processes of jets are taking place. This process is called flash atomization. In this study the flash atomization of superheated water jets assisted by air has been studied. Sprays with flash atomization have been photographed at various water and air flow rates and water superheats. It has been found that the spray angle with flash atomization increases with water superheat and water flow rate but decreases with air flow rate. The degree of change of spray angle has been analyzed and correlated as a function of superheat, air and water flow rates.

인두 및 상부식도부 이물감 환자의 식도내 (Esophageal manometry in the patients with foreign body sensation on the pharyngo-esopgageal region)

  • Although it is suspected that the foreign body sensation on the pharyngoesophageal region is caused by motility disturbance of upper esophageal sphincter, its pathophysiology is not yet clear. Esophageal manometry has become an important diagnostic tool in the evaluation of esophageal motor disorders such as dysfunction of upper esophageal sphincter. Intraluminal esophageal pressures were measured by perfusion manometry in fifteen patients with foreign body sensation on the pharyngoesophageal region and in twenty six controls. In upper esophageal sphincter, mean value of resting pressure of the patients by rapid pull-through technique was 45,9\ulcorner 15.6mmHg and 80.9\ulcorner9.7mmHg in the controls. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant. The distance from nostril to sphincter, length of sphincter, and resting pressure by station pull-through technique were not significantly different. The amplitude of esophageal peristalsis in the patients was reduced significantly at the level of the upper, mid and lower esophagus. The wave duration of the patients was reduced significantly at the level the upper and mid esophagus. The speed showed no difference between two groups. Length and resting pressure of lower esophageal sphincter revealed almost same values in two groups.

  • Optimum tribological performance of the head/disk system is critical in maintaining reliable data processing in a hard disk drive. Particularly, as the flying height of the slider continues to decrease with increasing recording density, frictional interaction between the slider and the disk need to be better understood. In this work the effect of reduced ambient pressure on the tribological behavior of the head/disk interface is presented. It is found that surface damage of the components can be accelerated by reducing the ambient pressure. This method may be utilized to assess slider/disk compatibility of newly developed systems in short time.

마이크로채널과 핀 튜브 열교환기를 적용한 가정용 에어컨디셔너의 성능 평가 (Evaluation of Performance of a Residential Air-Conditioning System Using Microchannel and Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchanger)

  • In this study the seasonal performance of a residential air conditioning system having either a fin-and-tube condenser or a microchannel condenser is experimentally investigated. A commercially available 7 kW capacity residential air conditioning system having a fin-and-tube condenser served as the base system. The test results show that the system with a microchannel heat exchanger has a reduced refrigerant charge amount of 10%, the coefficient of performance is increased by 6% to 10%, and the SEER is increased by 7% as compared with those of the base system. Moreover, the condensing pressure of the system is decreased by 100 kPa and the pressure drop across the condenser is decreased by 84%. The microchannel heat exchanger enhances the SEER of the residential air conditioning system by providing better heat transfers at reduced pressure drops.

  • We demonstrate that reduced graphene oxide (rGO) coated thin aluminum film is an effective optoacoustic transmitter for generating high pressure and high frequency ultrasound previously unattainable by other techniques. The rGO layer of different thickness is deposited between a 100 nm-thick aluminum film and a glass substrate. Under a pulsed laser excitation, the transmitter generates enhanced optoacoustic pressure of 64 times the aluminum-alone transmitter. A promising optoacoustic wave generation is possible by optimizing thermoelasticity of metal film and thermal conductivity of rGO in the proposed transmitter for laser-induced ultrasound (LIUS) applications.

  • Diaphragm compressors are used for a hydrogen compression because it can achieve high gas pressure with high purity. But diaphragm's lifetime may depend on the shape of the cavity and deflection from fluctuation the pressure change, which is necessary to monitored. In this study, the gas and hydraulic oil pressure in the cavity were measured as piston speed varies for diaphragm compressor. The results show pressure change quantities were reduced and maximum pressure points are delayed as the piston moves faster. And the hydraulic pressure were elevated as gas pressure elevated. And the compression period was more faster than expansion period.

  • Design of pre-compression region(trapping region) of the valve plate is an important element to minimize the pressure fluctuation in a cylinder and in discharge process, and pump noise. In this study, we tried to prove what the characteristics of the oil hydraulic pump would be according to the angle of the trapping region. Three kinds of asymmetrical valve plates were used. As a result, we found that by designing the trapping region, the slope of the pressure rise in the cylinder port from low-pressure suction region to high-pressure discharge region is relaxed and the pressure fluctuation width and the discharge pressure pulsation are reduced. Therefore, because the pump gets smooth pressure fluctuation and low fluid Impact, the pump noise is reduce.

에탄올-n-헵탄 공비 혼합물의 분리를 위한 압력변환 증류공정 연구 (A Study on the Pressure-Swing Distillation of Ethanol-n-Heptane Azeotrope)

  • 본 연구에서는 에탄올-n-헵탄 이성분계 공비 혼합물의 분리를 위해 압력변환 증류공정(pressure-swing distillation, PSD)을 사용하여 전산모사 및 공정 최적화를 진행하였다. 저압-고압 컬럼 배열과 고압-저압 컬럼 배열을 통해 고순도 에탄올과 고순도 n-헵탄을 얻기 위한 압력변환 증류공정을 수행하였다. 전산모사 결과, 저압-고압 컬럼 배열 공정보다 고압-저압 컬럼 배열 공정을 사용할 경우 heat duty 값이 약 5.8% 정도 감소되어 에너지 소모량 면에서 더 경제적임을 확인할 수 있었다.

Nylon SCY 편성물의 편성조직에 따른 외형, 신장특성 및 의복압 변화 (Appearance, stretch, and clothing pressure changes in nylon SCY knitted fabric by structure)

  • This research aims to obtain useful data on the development of compression garment products with high-stretch knitted materials. Using nylon SCY, four specimens were knitted. Then, appearance (width, length, weight, thickness), stretch property (stretch, recovery) and clothing pressure were measured and their interrelation was analyzed. In the comparison of appearance features, yarn floating caused shrinkage in both course and wale directions of the specimens. Yarn overlapping by tucking caused a release in the course direction and shrinkage in the wale direction. Also, structural change was affected by the weight and thickness change of the knitted fabric. In the analysis of fabric stretch, yarn floating reduced the extension in course direction and increased that in wale direction of the knitted fabric. However, yarn overlapping reduced the elongation in both directions. In the analysis of recovery, yarn floating and overlapping raised fabric recovery in both directions, and tuck structure was superior to float in recovery. In the analysis of clothing pressure, 'Plain-Float' structured fabrics showed a higher clothing pressure than 'Plain' and the clothing pressure value of 'Plain-Tuck' was lower than that of 'Plain'. As for the correlation between fabric appearance, stretch property, and clothing pressure, the appearance change in course direction had a major influence on the clothing pressure. The shrinkage of appearance led to a decrease in stretch and an increase in clothing pressure.
