무인신호위반단속장비 설치 후의 연도별 사고감소 효과 (Accident Reduction Effects by year After Installation of Red Light Cameras)

  • 도로교통공단은 무인신호위반단속장비의 설치 후 1년 자료를 바탕으로 사고감소효과를 분석하고 있기 때문에, 무인신호위반 설치 후 연도별 사고감소효과에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 RLC 설치 이후 연도별 3년 동안의 사고 감소효과를 다루고 있다. 연구의 목적은 EB(Empirical Bayes)방법을 이용하여 사고감소 효과를 연도별로 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해 이 연구는 RLC가 설치된 20개 교차점 951건의 사고자료를 이용한다. 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 포아송 회귀모형을 이용하여 통계적으로 유의한 안전성과함수를 개발하였다. 둘째, EB방법을 이용하여 분석한 결과, 전체적인 사고감소효과는 설치 후 1년 2.73~38.75%, 2년은 6.85~47.36%, 그리고 3년은 6.04~39.31%의 감소효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • 본 연구는 무인신호위반단속장비의 사고감소 효과를 다루고 있다. 연구의 목적은 EB (Empirical Bayes)방법을 이용하여 사고감소 효과를 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해 무인신호위반단속장비가 설치된 28개 교차점 728건의 사고자료를 이용한다. 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 단순사고건수 방법의 사고감소 효과는 20.74%로 분석되었다. 둘째, 포아송과 음 이항 회귀모형을 이용하여 SPF모형이 개발되었으며, 과분산계수가 0에 가까워 포아송 회귀모형이 음이항 회귀모형보다 더 적합한 것으로 평가되었다. 아울러 포아송 모형의 ${\rho}^2$값이 0.409로 나타나 통계적으로 유의한 모형으로 분석되었다. 마지막으로, EB방법을 이용한 분석 결과, 사고가 3.89%에서 29.23% 감소된 것으로 나타났다.

  • One of the most frequently used method for measurement of the degree of sizing (viz., hydrophobicity) is the Stockigt test. However, the Stockigt test was influenced by various factors such as dropping height, dropping amount, dropping speed and viewing angle. The resultant data of the sizing degree on the same specimen also varied according to different testers. Thus, the Stockigt test should be modified to be regarded as a highly reliable and reproducible standard method. For modifying the Stockigt test, it was required to quantify red coloration by reaction between 1% ferric chloride and 2% ammonium thiocyante during Stockigt testing. The cameras capturing the serial images during the red coloration process were the CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)-type and CCD (Charge Coupled Device)-type cameras. For measurement based on KS M 7025, the CCD-type camera must be used due to its high resolution, and on the other hand, for measurement based on Tappi Useful Method 429, the CMOS-type camera may be used owing to its low resolution. It was needed to covert the RGB values of a droplet image into HSV(Hue, Saturation, and Value) values because the human eyes are much closer to HSV than RGB. Among HSV values, the Hue value was accepted as the most reliable index consistent with the red coloration process by excluding the surrounding conditions such as light, tester's movement etc.

Elimination of the Red-Eye Area using Skin Color Information

  • The red-eye effect in photography occurs when using a photographic flash very close to the camera lens, in ambient low light due to in experience. Once occurred, the photographer needs to remove it with image tool that requires time consuming, skillful process. In this paper, we propose a new method to extract and remove such red-eye area automatically. Our method starts with transforming ROB space to YCbCr and HSI space and it extracts the face area by using skin color information. The target red-eye area is then extracted by applying 8-direction contour tracking algorithm and removed. The experiment shows our method's effectiveness.

  • According to recent technological developments in high-power LEDs, the stage lighting is one of most important areas to apply power LED system. Moving light for color rendering of stage uses the RGBW(red, green, blue, white) color mixing method. LED moving light system needs to have a wide range of dimming control as enough to operate at very low power. Also LED dimming system should not be induced color-shift and flicker in camera. This paper is experimentally verified the LED Moving Light driving circuit of 200Watt level designed to satisfy the above characteristics which applied the DC current-controlled and PWM mixed dimming method.

주야간 겸용 표면영상유속계 개발을 위한 원적외선 카메라의 적용성 검토 (A Test of a Far Infrared Camera for Development of New Surface Image Velocimeter for Day and Night Measurement)

  • 홍수시 하천의 유속 측정을 위한 표면영상유속계에서 가장 기본이 되는 단계는 적절한 영상을 취득하는 것이다. 하지만 영상 획득에 있어 야간에 발생하는 홍수 흐름을 촬영하는 것은 매우 어렵다. 이에 본 연구에서는 표면영상 유속계의 야간 영상 획득 장치로 원적외선 카메라를 이용하는 방안을 검토하였다. 원적외선 카메라는 별도의 조명을 필요로 하지 않으므로, 주야간 모두 영상을 획득할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 또한 안개나 연기의 영향을 받지 않아서 고정식 표면영상유속계를 구성하는 좋은 대안이 될 수 있다. 원적외선 영상을 이용한 유속 산정의 결과를 비교하기 위해, 보통의 가시광 카메라와 근적외선 카메라를 이용한 동시 촬영을 하여 영상을 분석하였다. 아울러 소형 프로펠러 유속계에 의한 유속 측정 자료와 비교하였다. 정확도 분석 결과 원적외선의 주간 영상을 이용할 경우 최소-9%에서 최대 -19%의 오차를 나타냈고, 야간 영상을 이용할 경우 최소 -10%에서 최대 -23%의 오차를 나타냈다. 또한 일반캠코더를 이용한 경우와 비교하여 최대 10% 이내의 차이를 보였기 때문에 주야간 유속 측정에 원적외선 카메라의 적용이 가능한 것을 확인하였다. 다만 주간 영상에 비해 야간 영상이 약간 흐려지는 경향이 있기 때문에, 이러한 영상을 적절히 분석하기 위한 지속적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각한다.

Cosmic Evolution of Submillimeter Galaxies and Their Effects on the Star Formation Rate Density

  • Development of bolometer array and camera at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths plays an important role for detecting submillimeter galaxies (SMGs) which appear to be very bright at the submillimeter and millimeter wavelengths. These SMGs, luminous infrared galaxies detected at mm/submm wavelengths seem to be progenitors of present-day massive galaxies and account for their considerable contributions to the light from the early universe and their expected high star formation rates (SFRs) if there is a close link between the SMG phenomena and the star formation activities and the interstellar dust in galaxies is mainly heated by the star light. In this talk, we review assembly of SMGs compiled with observations using the bolometer arrays and cameras and investigate their spectral energy distribution fits including the data at other wavelengths which trace the photometric properties and the red-shift distribution of galaxies. We find that these bright SMGs significantly contribute to the cosmic star formation rate density at red-shifts of 2-3 (about 8 %) for the spatial distribution of these galaxies.

Comparison of Clinical Characteristics of Fluorescence in Quantitative Light-Induced Fluorescence Images according to the Maturation Level of Dental Plaque

  • Background: Proper detection and management of dental plaque are essential for individual oral health. We aimed to evaluate the maturation level of dental plaque using a two-tone disclosing agent and to compare it with the fluorescence of dental plaque on the quantitative light-induced fluorescence (QLF) image to obtain primary data for the development of a new dental plaque scoring system. Methods: Twenty-eight subjects who consented to participate after understanding the purpose of the study were screened. The images of the anterior teeth were obtained using the QLF device. Subsequently, dental plaque was stained with a two-tone disclosing solution and a photograph was obtained with a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera. The staining scores were assigned as follows: 0 for no staining, 1 for pink staining, and 2 for blue staining. The marked points on the DSLR images were selected for RGB color analysis. The relationship between dental plaque maturation and the red/green (R/G) ratio was evaluated using Spearman's rank correlation. Additionally, different red fluorescence values according to dental plaque accumulation were assessed using one-way analysis of variance followed by Scheffe's post-hoc test to identify statistically significant differences between the groups. Results: A comparison of the intensity of red fluorescence according to the maturation of the two-tone stained dental plaque confirmed that R/G ratio was higher in the QLF images with dental plaque maturation (p<0.001). Correlation analysis between the stained dental plaque and the red fluorescence intensity in the QLF image confirmed an excellent positive correlation (p<0.001). Conclusion: A new plaque scoring system can be developed based on the results of the present study. In addition, these study results may also help in dental plaque management in the clinical setting.

  • Gaze detection is to find out the position on a monitor screen where a user is looking at, using the computer vision processing. This System can help the handicapped to use a computer, substitute a touch screen which is expensive, and navigate the virtual reality. There are basically two main types of the study of gaze detection. The first is to find out the location by face movement, and the second is by eye movement. In the gaze detection by eye movement, we find out the position with special devices, or the methode of image processing. In this paper, we detect not the iris but the pupil from the image captured by Head-Mounted Camera with infra-red light, and accurately locate the position where a user looking at by A(fine Transform.

  • The Infrared Camera onboard the AKARI satellite carried out spectroscopic observations with a grism mode named NG, whose wavelength coverage was $2.5-5.0{\mu}m$. We reinvestigate the current flux calibration for the NG grism mode, with which calculated flux density implausibly decreases at $4.9{\mu}m$ especially for red objects due to the second-order light contamination. We perform a new spectral response calibration using blue and red standard objects simultaneously. New response curves which contain both the first-and second-order light are able to separate each contribution consistently and useful for studies of red objects such as CO ro-vibrational absorption in active galactic nuclei.
