폐플라스틱/제강 Dust 성형제의 용출안전성에 대한 연구 (Elution Safety of Recycled Plastic/EAF Dust Composites by Using Leaching Test)

  • In this study, We have investigated leaching characteristics of heavy metals for recycled plastic composites containing EAF(Electric Arc Furnace) dust & EAF slag. EAF dust & EAF slag used that is generated in the 3 steel-making compaines in domestic. The physical and chemical properties of EAF dust & slag was examined by measuring specific surface area. porosity, oil absorption test and chemical wetting analysis etc. Results of total analysis indicated that EAF dust, slag contained significant amount of hazardous metals such as Cu, Pb, Cd and Cr. But, In the leaching test of the recycled plastic composites containing EAF dust, slag by Korean Standard Leaching Procedure, composites shows much lower leaching concentration of heavy metals. It was concluded that the recycled plastic composites containing EAF dust, slag showed good physical and chemical characteristics. This means that the EAF dust, slag can be effectively used as a functional filler.

  • 국내에서 발생하는 폐플라스틱의 양은 폐비닐류를 포함하여 연간 500만톤에 이르며 이 가운데 재활용 선별장을 통하여 배출되는 폐비닐류의 양은 연간 100만톤 정도에 이르는 것으로 추정되고 있다. 재활용 선별장의 폐비닐류는 RPF(Refuse Plastic Fuel) 또는 재생원료로 전환되어 재활용이 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 재활용 선별장에서 발생하는 폐비닐을 열매체 가열공정에 의하여 용융처리하여 재생 폐비닐 원료로서 이용가능성을 인장강도를 통하여 분석하고 기존의 재생품과 비교함으로서 용융재생원료의 이용 가능성을 판단하였다. 상업용으로 사용하기 위해서는 폐비닐류를 이용한 재생원료의 인장강도는 100 $kgf/cm^2$ 정도가 적합함을 알 수 있었다.

골판지 원지 제조용 압축고지 내의 이물질 종류 및 재생섬유의 특성 (Type of Foreign Materials in Waste Paper Used for the Manufacture of Linerboard and Physical Properties of Recycled Fibers)

  • To evaluate the quality of waste paper used for the manufacture of linerboard, the types of papers and foreign materials in compressed waste paper currently used were investigated. The recycled fibers were obtained from printing paper, newspaper, wrapping paper, white coated paperboard and corrugated container. Their fibers were observed by using a microscope, and the mechanical properties of the recycled papers manufactured from the recycled fibers were investigated. The compressed wastepaper was composed of 54% paperboard, 20% printing paper, and 20% newsprint. The content of foreign materials was about 4%, showing higher contents compared to 1% of foreign substances provided by Korea paper manufacturers' association. The types of foreign materials were various, which include vinyls, plastics, metals, woods, styrofoams, and cloths. Sound fibers were generally observed in the recycled fibers of printing papers and wrapping paper. The recycled fibers of white coated board, corrugated container and newsprint showed to be generally damaged. The whiteness of each recycled fiber were highly affected by pulp bleaching and ink-particle mixing conditions. The values of breaking length and burst index were lower than those for corrugating medium and liner board specified in KS. Although the anatomical characteristics of recycled fibers varied, their strengths appeared to be similar. This result may be explained by the use of non-deinked fiber.

브롬화난연제 함유 폐기물의 함량 특성 연구 (Study on the Content Characteristics of Waste Containing Brominated Flame Retardant)

  • In this study, the results of PBDEs and HBCDs of the products and waste that contain BFRs such as domestic electronic products, automobiles and textile products were compared with international management standards, and their excess rates were calculated. Deca-BDE was detected among the PBDEs in TV rear cover plastics, car seats, automotive interior plastics, and automobile shredding residues of products and waste containing BFRs. The comparison with Basel Convention management standards (1,000 mg/kg) for PBDE-containing wastes (4 types in total) shows that the excess rate of all samples was less than 1.5%. The estimated excess rate compared to the EU and Basel convention management standards (1,000 mg/kg) for PBDEs (4 species + deca-BDE) and TV rear cover plastics was 37.5% (30 of 80 samples exceeded the standards). The estimated excess rate compared to the Basel convention management standards (1,000 mg/kg) for HBCD, building materials products and waste was 15.7% (17 of 108 samples exceeded the standards). In the case of PBDEs, it is necessary to remove only the rear cover of CRT TV among the electric and electronic products and treat it in the flame retardant treatment facility to improve the recycling collection system. In the case of HBCD, it is necessary to appropriately dispose of the recycled materials, heat insulation materials, TV plastics, and styrofoam in marine fishery among construction materials and restrict the use as recycled raw materials.

목재 인삼재배시설에 대한 재생플라스틱의 대체 가능성 평가 (Possibility for the Replacement of Recycled Plastic Products on Timber Ginseng Cultivation Facilities)

  • This study was conducted to examine the possibility of use as a structural material for ginseng cultivation facilities of recycled plastics. In order to determine the possibility that recycled plastic can replace timber used as a structural material for ginseng cultivation facilities, the specimens collected by elapsed time were compared with timber through bending tests. In addition, in order to analyze the effect of external environmental conditions on recycled plastic products, bending test was conducted with the specimens that had completed weathering test and accelerated heat aging test respectively. As a result, the bending strength of recycled plastic specimens with the elapsed time of 360 days was lower than that of timber. But bending strength of recycled plastic specimens exceeded the design allowable stress standard set by the Korea design standard (MOLIT, 2016). There was no degradation in quality of recycled plastic due to the external environment, and it was found that there would be no problem even if it was used as a structural material for ginseng cultivation facilities.

  • The huge amounts of wastes were produced nowadays. Among the solid waste stream, the waste plastic portion is about 20 % in weight, over 50 % in volume. But the most of waste plastics were incinerated or land filled. Only a bit of waste plastics were recycled and reused. On the view point of current energy crisis, this will be an extravagance of beneficial resource. So we should consider the waste plastics as a beneficial raw material. Also need to develop the field of reusing and recycling of post-consumed plastic. In this context, present paper describes the methodology for enhancing or improving the specific properties by way of using inorganic filler waste. Also develop the product from these post-consumed plastic.

재활용 FRP 미분말을 혼입한 고강도 콘크리트의 압축강도 및 내화성능 (Compressive Strength and Fire Resistance Performance of High Strength Concrete with Recycled Fiber Power from Fiber-Reinforced Plastics)

  • 폐 FRP 양의 증가는 환경적 문제를 일으키고 있다. 최근 폐 FRP로부터 콘크리트를 보강시킬 수 있는 섬유를 만들 수 있는 기술이 개발되었으며, 재활용 섬유로 강화된 콘크리트 제품의 구조적 성능을 연구하기 위한 시험도 수행되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 폐 FRP에서 생성되는 재활용 섬유 분진이 고강도 콘크리트의 압축강도와 내화성능에 주는 영향을 연구하는 것이다. 실험적 강도 측정 결과 재활용 섬유 분진의 부피 분율이 0.7%보다 작으면 그 분진을 사용하더라도 고강도 콘크리트의 압축강도가 감소하지 않았다. 전기로 시험 결과 역시 재활용 섬유 분진의 사용으로 고강도 콘크리트의 내화성이 크게 향상될 수 있음을 보였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 복합 재질 폐플라스틱(PA)을 이용한 폴리머콘크리트의 작업성, 경화시간 및 경화수축에 미치는 결합재 첨가량 및 PA 혼입량의 영향에 대하여 검토하였다. 그 결과 복합 재질 폐플라스틱을 재활용한 폴리머콘크리트의 작업성은 결합재 첨가량, PA 혼입량 및 필러 혼입량의 증가에 따라 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다. 복합 재질 폐플라스틱을 이용한 폴리머콘크리트의 경화시간은 촉매제 첨가량 및 양생온도의 증가에 따라 짧아지는 경향을 나타냈다. 복합 재질 폐플라스틱을 이용한 폴리머콘크리트의 길이변화는 결합재 첨가량 및 PA 혼입량의 증가에 따라 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 본 연구 결과가 복합 재질 폐플라스틱 종말품의 재활용에 조금이나마 기여할 수 있을 것을 기대하며 향후 지속적인 연구개발을 통하여 더욱 광범위한 복합재질 폐플라스틱 종말품의 재활용이 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

폴리올레핀계 폐플라스틱/복합filler 성형체의 난연성 및 기계적 물성 연구 (Flame Retardancy and Mechanical Property of Recycled Polyolefinic Plastic Composites with Hybrid fillers)

  • Flame retardancy and mechanical properties of recycled polyolefinic plastics/inorganic filler composite systems were investigated by using several inorganic flame retardants such as magnesium hydroxide and slag powder generated electro arc furnace Compatibilizer user each maleic anhydride functionalized polyethylene (PE-g-MAH) and polypropylene(PP-g-MAH) or used mixture of these. The effect of polymeric compatibilizers on the properties of composites was studied by tensile and impact test, differential scanning calorimetry, in the changed fracture mechanism. The improved adhesion was particularly reflected in the mechanical properties. The flame retardancy of composites was examined by measuring limiting oxygen index(LOI, ASTM D2863), smoke density(ASTM D2843) and vertical burning test(UL94). Regarding the flame retardant effect, the EAF slag powder is behaving as synergists as they are only active in the presence of magnesium hydroxide.
