  • The purpose of this research is to find a simple and accurate NURBS interpolator for CNC systems such as robot, CMM and CNC machine tools. This paper presents a new design of NURBS interpolator for CNC system. The proposed algorithm used the recursive characteristics of NURBS equation, the previous incremental value and chord length for the sake of a constant chord length. Simulation study was conducted to see the performance of the proposed interpolator with reference-word and reference-pulse method. Consequently, an accurate and simple NURBS interpolator was possible for modem CNC systems.

  • We consider a graphical method for visualizing the strictly monotonic transformation of t(y) so that the regression function E(t(y)$\mid$x) is linear in the predictor vector x. Cook and Weisberg (1994) proposed an inverse response plot which relies on the results of Li & Duan (1989) to obtain consistent estimates. Based on the recursive addition of the results from the two dimensional plots, we propose a new procedure which can be used when the consistency result is in doubt.

  • We show that G(x) = $e^{(x}$(1-x))/ -1 is the exponential generating function for the labeled digraphs whose weak components are transitive tournaments and derive both a recursive formula and an explicit formula for the number of them on n vertices. Moreover, we investigate the asymptotic behavior for the coefficients of G(x) using Hayman's method.d.

  • An algorithm to get network reliability, where each link has probability of fuzzy number, is proposed. Decomposition method and fuzzy numbers arithmetic are applied to the algorithm. Pivot link is chosen one by one from start node recursively at time of decomposition, and arithmetic of fuzzy complementary numbers is included at the same time. No criteria of pivot link selection and the recursive calculation make the algorithm simple.

  • Single point attitude determination method provides an optimal attitude minimizing the Wahba loss function. However, for the insufficient number of measurement vectors, the conventional single point methods has no unique solution. Thus, we introduce the sequential method to and an optimal attitude minimizing the windowed loss function. In this paper, this function is de ned as the sum of square errors for all measurement vectors within the axed sliding window. For simple implementation, the proposed algorithm is rewritten as a recursive form. Moreover, the covariance matrix is derived and expressed as a recursive form. Finally, we apply this algorithm to the attitude determination system with three LOS measurement sensors.

  • Utilizing an interconnected set of neuron-like elements, the present study is to provide a method of parameter estimation for a second order linear time invariant system of self-tuning controller. The result from the proposed method is evaluated by comparing with those obtained by the recursive least square (RLS) identification algorithm and extended recursive least square (ERLS) algorithm, and it shows that, although the smoothness of system performance is still to be improved, the effectiveness of shorter computing time is demonstrated which may be of considerable value to real time computing.

  • In this paper, we proposed an algorithm for estimating parameters of nonlinear continuous-discrete state-space system. This algorithm uses the conventional extended Kalman filter(EKF) for estimating state variables, and modifies the recursive prediction error method for parameter estimation of the nonlinear system. Simulation results for both linear and nonlinear measurements under the environment of process and measurement noises show a convincing performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a nonlinear system identification method, where an adaptive nonlinear recursive state-spare(ANRSS) filter is employed as its filter structure, and a variable step (VS) algorithm is applied as its adaptation law.   • This paper presents the error correction method of magnetic position sensor using recursive least square method (RLSM) with forgetting factor. Magnetic position sensor is proposed for linear position detection of the linear motor which has tooth shape stator, consists of permanent magnet, iron core and linear hall sensor, and generates sine and cosine waveforms according to the movement of the mover of the linear motor. From the output of magnetic position sensor, the position of the linear motor can be detected using arc-tan function. But the variation of the air gap between magnetic position sensor and the stator and the error in manufacturing process can cause the variation in offset, phase and amplitude of the generated waveforms when the linear motor moves. These variations in sine and cosine waveforms are changed according to the current linear motor position, and it is very difficult to compensate the errors using constant value. In this paper, the generated sine and cosine waveforms from the magnetic position sensor are compensated on-line using the RLSM with forgetting factor. And the speed observer is introduced to reduce the effect of uncompensated harmonic component. The approaches are verified by some simulations and experiments.
