Method of Profile Storage for Improving Accuracy and Searching Time on Ubiquitous Computing

  • Users are able to use the information and service more free than previous wire network due to development of wireless network and device. For this reason, various studies on ubiquitous networks have been conducted. Various contexts brought in this ubiquitous environment, have recognized user's action through sensors. This results in the provision of better services. Because services exist in various places in ubiquitous networks, the application has the time of services searching. In addition, user's context is very dynamic, so a method needs to be found to recommend services to user by context. Therefore, techniques for reducing the time of service and increasing accuracy of recommendation are being studied. But it is difficult to quickly and appropriately provide large numbers of services, because only basic context information is stored. For this reason, we suggest DUPS(Dimension User Profile System), which stores location, time, and frequency information of often used services. Because previous technique used to simple information for recommending service without predicting services which is going to use on future, we can provide better service, and improve accuracy over previous techniques.

Dieticians' intentions to recommend functional foods: The mediating role of consumption frequency of functional foods

  • This study explored the conceptual framework of dieticians' intentions to recommend functional food and the mediating role of consumption frequency. A web-based survey was designed using a self-administered questionnaire. A sample of Korean dieticians (N=233) responded to the questionnaire that included response efficacy, risk perception, consumption frequency, and recommendation intention for functional foods. A structural equation model was constructed to analyze the data. We found that response efficacy was positively related to frequency of consumption of functional foods and to recommendation intention. Consumption frequency also positively influenced recommendation intention. Risk perception had no direct influence on recommendation intention; however, the relationship was mediated completely by consumption frequency. Dieticians' consumption frequency and response efficacy were the crucial factors in recommending functional foods. Dieticians may perceive risks arising from the use of functional foods in general, but the perceived risks do not affect ratings describing dieticians' intentions to recommend them. The results also indicated that when dieticians more frequently consume functional foods, the expression of an intention to recommend functional foods may be controlled by the salience of past behaviors rather than by attitudes.

Complexity and Algorithms for Optimal Bundle Search Problem with Pairwise Discount

  • Purpose - A product bundling is a marketing approach where multiple products or components are packaged together into one bundle solution. This paper aims to introduce an optimal bundle search problem (hereinafter called "OBSP") which may be embedded with online recommendation system to provide an optimized service considering pairwise discount and delivery cost. Research design, data, and methodology - Online retailers have their own discount policy and it is time consuming for online shoppers to find an optimal bundle. Unlike an online system recommending one item for each search, the OBSP considers multiple items for each search. We propose a mathematical formulation with numerical example for the OBSP and analyzed the complexity of the problem. Results - We provide two results from the complexity analysis. In general case, the OBSP belongs to strongly NP-Hard which means the difficulty of the problem while the special case of OBSP can be solved within polynomial time by transforming the OBSP into the minimum weighted perfect matching problem. Conclusions - In this paper, we propose the OBSP to provide a customized service considering bundling price and delivery cost. The results of research will be embedded with an online recommendation system to help customers for easy and smart online shopping.

  • 전자상거래의 활성화로 인터넷상에는 많은 쇼핑몰이 존재하고 정보도 또한 광범위하게 되었다. 그에 따라 고객이 원하는 정보를 얻기까지 소요되는 시간과 노력을 절약하기 위해 고객을 위한 상품 추천 시스템의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 웹 로그 파일에 데이터 마이닝 기법을 이용하고, 고객의 행동 패턴과 그밖에도 고객의 프로파일, 상품 구매 데이터 둥을 분석한 결과들을 기반으로 구축한 상품 추천 시스템을 제안한다. 추천 시스템은 고객에게 메일이나 우편을 보내거나 고객이 쇼핑몰에 방문하였을 때 웹 페이지를 추천해 주는 기능을 수행하여 고객이 원하는 정보를 쉽게 얻을 수 있도록 하는 편리함을 제공한다.

KASS 탑재측정장비 요구사항 및 설계방안 분석 (Analysis of the Requirements and Design of KASS Measuring Equipment)

  • 국제민간항공기구에서는 전 세계적으로 PBN 이행 촉구를 위해 2025년까지 모든 항공기의 SBAS 사용을 권고하고 있는 상황이다. 이에 국내에서도 한국형 SBAS인 KASS 개발이 진행 중에 있다. ICAO에서는 SBAS에 대한 인증 및 운용에 있어서 해당 항공 당국에 그 권한을 부여하고 있으며, KASS 또한 시스템 상세 설계, 제작, 설치 가 수행된 후 시스템에 대한 검증이 이루어 질 예정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 국제 표준의 비행검사 규정을 통해 비행시험 파라미터를 도출 하였으며 이를 측정하기 위한 탑재측정장비의 구성방안에 대해서 제안 하였다.

벼에 대한 돈분뇨 액비의 시용량 및 시용시기 구명 (Effect of Application Time and Amount of Liquid Pig Manure on Growth of Rice and Infiltration Water Quality)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of application time and amount of liquid pig manure on growth and yield of rice plant and infiltration water quality. Liquid manure treatment with higher application rate and closer application time to transplanting time showed higher plant height and number of tiller at panicle formation stage, but it caused the plant disease and pest and lodging. In liquid manure treatment with higher application rate, number of panicles per hill and number of spikelets per panicle were higher but yield of rice was less than chemical fertilizer treatment due to low rate of ripeness and 1,000 grain weight. $NO_3-N$ concentration in infiltration water sample was increased with increasing application amount of liquid manure and closer application time to transplanting of rice plant. With consideration yield of rice and environment such as groundwater quality, the proper application amount were 150% and 100% of recommending N fertilizer level (11kg) at before winter and April or May treatment, respectively.

Communication Competencies of Oncology Nurses in Malaysia

  • This paper reports on part of a large study to identify competencies of oncology nurses in Malaysia. It focuses on oncology nurses' communications-related competency. As an important cancer care team member, oncology nurses need to communicate effectively with cancer patients. Literature shows that poor communication can make patients feel anxious, uncertain and generally not satisfied with their nurses' care. This paper deliberates on the importance of effective communication by oncology nurses in the context of a public hospital. Four focus group discussions were used in this study with 17 oncology/cancer care nurses from Malaysian public hospitals. The main inclusion criterion was that the nurses had to have undergone a post-basic course in oncology, or have work experience as a cancer care nurse. The findings indicated that nurses do communicate with their patients, patients' families and doctors to provide information about the disease, cancer treatment, disease recurrence and side effects. Nurses should have good communication skills in order to build relationships as well as to provide quality services to their patients. The paper concludes by recommending how oncology nursing competencies can be improved.

가격패턴에 기반한 구매시점의 추천 방법 (A Method of Recommending Buy Points Based on Price Patterns)

  • 인터넷 쇼핑몰에서 구매자들이 원하는 상품을 추천해 주는 연구들은 활발하게 진행되고 있지만, 상품의 구매시점 추천에 대한 연구는 찾아보기 어렵다. 이에 본 논문에서는 구매자에게 상품의 구매시점을 추천해 줄 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해서 과거의 판매 기록으로부터 정규화 된 가격패턴 데이터베이스를 구축하고, 이로부터 가격패턴을 분석한 뒤, 앞으로의 가격 변화를 예측하여 구매자에게 제시한다. 또한 가격 변화에 영향을 미치는 요소들의 분석과 이 결과를 예측에 반영하기 위하여 회귀분석을 활용한다. 그리고 성능평가를 통하여 제안하는 방법의 활용 가능성이 높음을 보인다.

Automatic Music Recommendation System based on Music Characteristics

  • In this paper, we present effective methods for automatic music recommendation system which automatically recommend music by signal processing technology. Conventional music recommendation system use users’ music downloading pattern, but the method does not consider acoustic characteristics of music. Sometimes, similarities between music are used to find similar music for recommendation in some method. However, the feature used for calculating similarities is not highly related to music characteristics at the system. Thus, our proposed method use high-level music characteristics such as rhythm pattern, timbre characteristics, and the lyrics. In addition, our proposed method store features of music, which individuals queried, to recommend music based on individual taste. Experiments show the proposed method find similar music more effectively than a conventional method. The experimental results also show that the proposed method could be used for real-time application since the processing time for calculating similarities between music, and recommending music are fast enough to be applicable for commercial purpose.

외국인들의 호텔한식메뉴 선택선호요인에 관한 연구

  • foreigners preferred wholesome and fresh food and made much of. However the satisfaction didn't live up to the expectation. Second, there was no difference in both gender and age. It showed that in the gradually developing international dining-out industry, regardless of gender or age, the taste of food depended on the individual preference. Third, there was some difference in the preference factors according to intent of visiting Korea. The preference of people recommending some manu to someone when he or she visits Korea influenced the visiting person's preference about the Korean food manu. Forth, there was some difference in both individual importance in choosing the manu and satisfaction after experiencing the manu. It is the very challenge to be dealt with when the Korean traditional food tries to accomplish globalization. As a result, to accomplish globalization of not only the hotel Korean food manu but also the Korean traditional food needs to rapidly improve wholesomeness and freshness of the food, which the foreigners consider the most important but complain about. The fact was well shown in the test of the manu preference. When the Korean traditional food goes ahead in the world, it is desirable to sustain and develop the existing manu of Korean food. However, to inform the world of excellency of the Korean traditional food should be a constant study or develop a new manu.
