During the 4th Industrial Revolution, service platforms utilizing diverse contents are emerging, and research on recommended systems that can be customized to users to provide quality service is being conducted. hybrid recommendation systems that provide high accuracy recommendations are being researched in various domains, and various filtering techniques, machine learning, and deep learning are being applied to recommended systems. However, in a recommended service environment where data must be analyzed and processed real time, the accuracy of the recommendation is important, but the computational speed is also very important. Due to high level of model complexity, a hybrid recommendation system or a Deep Learning-based recommendation system takes a long time to calculate. In this paper, a Cascade-hybrid recommended algorithm is proposed that can reduce the computational time while maintaining the accuracy of the recommendation. The proposed algorithm was designed to reduce the complexity of the model and minimize the computational speed while processing sequentially, rather than using existing weights or using a hybrid recommendation technique handled in parallel. Therefore, through the algorithms in this paper, contents can be analyzed and recommended effectively and real time through services such as SNS environments or shared economy platforms.

Although researchers have proposed various recommendation systems, most recommendation approaches are for single users and there are only a small number of recommendation approaches for groups. However, TV programs or movies are most often viewed by groups rather than by single users. Most recommendation approaches for groups assume that single users' profiles are known and that group profiles consist of the single users' profiles. However, because it is difficult to obtain group profiles, researchers have only used synthetic or limited datasets. In this paper, we report on various group recommendation approaches to a real large-scale dataset in a TV domain, and evaluate the various group recommendation approaches. In addition, we provide some guidelines for group recommendation systems, focusing on home group users in a TV domain.

In this modern era of technology and information, e-learning approach has become an integral part of teaching and learning using modern technologies. There are different variations or classification of e-learning approaches. One of notable approaches is Personal Learning Environment (PLE). In a PLE system, the contents are presented to the user in a personalized manner (according to the user's needs and wants). The problem arises when a new user enters the system, and due to the lack of information about the new user's needs and wants, the system fails to recommend him/her the personalized e-learning contents accurately. This phenomenon is known as cold-start problem. In order to address this issue, existing researches propose different approaches for recommendation such as preference profile, user ratings and tagging recommendations. In this research paper, the implementation of a novel interaction-based approach is presented. The interaction-based approach improves the recommendation accuracy for the new-user cold-start problem by integrating preferences profile and tagging recommendation and utilizing the interaction among users and system. This research work takes leverage of the interaction of a new user with the PLE system and generates recommendation for the new user, both implicitly and explicitly, thus solving new-user cold-start problem. The result shows the improvement of 31.57% in Precision, 18.29% in Recall and 8.8% in F1-measure.

Book recommender system, which suggests book to users according to their book taste and preference effectively improves users' book-reading experience and exposes them to variety of books. Insufficient dataset of book rating records by users degrades the quality of recommendation. In this study, we suggest a book recommendation system that makes use of user's book ratings collaboratively with user's movie ratings where more abundant datasets are available. Through comprehensive experiment, we prove that our methods improve the recommendation quality and effectively recommends more diverse kind of books. In addition, this will be the first attempt for book recommendation system to utilize movie rating data, which is from the media-platform other than books.
Point-of-Interest(POI) recommendation systems suggest the most interesting POIs to users considering the current location and time. With the rapid development of smartphones, internet-of-things, and location-based social networks, it has become feasible to accumulate huge amounts of user POI visits. Therefore, instant recommendation of interesting POIs at a given time is being widely recognized as important. To increase the performance of POI recommendation systems, several studies extracting users' POI sequential preference from POI check-in data, which is intended for implicit feedback, have been suggested. However, when constructing a model utilizing sequential preference, the model encounters possibility of data distortion because of a low number of observed check-ins which is attributed to intensified data sparsity. This paper suggests refinement of temporal intervals based on data confidence. When building a POI recommendation system using temporal intervals to model the POI sequential preference of users, our methodology reduces potential data distortion in the dataset and thus increases the performance of the recommendation system. We verify our model's effectiveness through the evaluation with the Foursquare and Gowalla dataset.
Collaborative filtering is one of the methodologies that are most widely used for recommendation system. It is based on a data matrix of each customer's preferences of products. There could be a lot of missing values in such preference. data matrix. This incomplete data is one of the reasons to deteriorate the accuracy of recommendation system. Multiple imputation method imputes m values for each missing value. It overcomes flaws of single imputation approaches through considering the uncertainty of missing values.. The objective of this paper is to suggest multiple imputation-based collaborative filtering approach for recommendation system to improve the accuracy in prediction performance. The experimental works show that the proposed approach provides better performance than the traditional Collaborative filtering approach, especially in case that there are a lot of missing values in dataset used for recommendation system.
In recent years, due to COVID-19, the process of shopping has become more restricted and difficult for customers. Based on this aspect, customers are more interested in online shopping to keep the Untact rules and stay safe, similarly ordering their product based on their need and interest with most straightforward and fastest ways. In this paper, the reinforcement learning technique is applied in the product recommendation system to improve the recommendation system quality for better and more related suggestions based on click patterns and users' profile information. The dataset used in this system was taken from an online shopping mall in Jeju island, South Korea. We have compared the proposed method with the recent state-of-the-art and research results, which show that reinforcement learning effectiveness is higher than other approaches.

As of 2020, about 500 hours of videos are uploaded to YouTube, a representative online video platform, per minute. As the number of users acquiring information through various uploaded videos is increasing, online video platforms are making efforts to provide better recommendation services. The currently used recommendation service recommends videos to users based on the user's viewing history, which is not a good way to recommend videos that deal with specific purposes and interests, such as educational videos. The recent recommendation system utilizes not only the user's viewing history but also the content features of the item. In this paper, we extract the content features of educational video for educational video recommendation based on YouTube, design a recommendation system using it, and implement it as a web application. By examining the satisfaction of users, recommendataion performance and convenience performance are shown as 85.36% and 87.80%.
As the online shopping market grows, channels in the mobile shopping environment have become increasingly diverse as a wide variety of products are introduced every day. This study investigated the effects of the self-construal type, mobile product recommendation system type, and fashion product type on purchase intention. The experimental design of this study was a 2 (self-construal type: independent vs. interdependent) × 2 (product recommendation system: bestseller vs. content-based) × 2 (fashion product type: utilitarian vs. hedonic) 3-way mixed ANOVA. Women (n = 387) in their 20 to 30s residing in Seoul and the Gyeonggi area participated in the study. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 24 program and 3-way ANOVA and simple main effects analyses were conducted. The results were as follows. First, self-construal, product recommendation, and fashion product types had a statistically significant impact on purchase intention. Second, fashion product and consumers' self-construal types had significant interaction effects on purchase intention. Finally, product recommendation and fashion product and self-construal types showed significant 3-way interaction effects on purchase intention. The study confirmed an interaction between the self-construal, type of product recommendation system, and the type of fashion product used in influencing purchase intention.

Recommendation systems are developed to overcome the problems of selection and to promote intention to use. In this study, we propose a recommendation system using adjacency data according to user's behavior over time. For this, the product adjacencies are identified from the adjacency matrix based on graph theory. This research finds that there is a trend in the users' behavior over time though product adjacency fluctuates over time. The system is tested on its usability. The tests show that implementing this recommendation system increases users' intention to purchase and reduces the search time.
