Objectives : The oral care during early childhood plays an important role to maintain sound oral health during adulthood. As the number of children's using child care facilities is on the rise recently, the children's oral health awareness and behavior of the educators at nurseries and kindergartens are to be examined. Methods : A self-recording survey was conducted on 194 educators at the nurseries and kindergartens in Chungnam region. Results : The most frequently given snack was milk, 91.8 percent of the facilities had children brush their teeth, 63.4 percent made them apply fluoride and 56.2 percent kept children's toothbrushes in an ultraviolet rays sterilizer. There was a meaningful difference in the awareness of the necessity to educate children about oral health according to the offer of the opportunity to apply fluoride (p<0.05). A meaningful difference was found in the recognition of the necessity to educate children according to their grade (p<0.05) and to train teachers themselves (p<0.05). The most desirable persons in charge of oral health education were dentists in health centers (46.9%) in order. The more experience in teaching they have had (p<0.05), when they're married (50.5%) (p<0.05) and when they're not homeroom teachers (52.6 percent), the more regular checkups they have had (p<0.05). As for the importance of oral health and the results of regular checkups, those who had answered 'very important'(42.4%) showed higher rate of regular checkup (p<0.05) than those who had answered 'important'(23.9%). When teachers have the experience to get trained about oral care (96.3%), the practice frequency of brushing teeth was proved to become higher (p<0.05). Conclusions : The educators for children should recognize the importance of oral health education, educate children to practice oral health care, and the environment and systematic foundation should be established which the educators manage effectively.
Localizing an object in image is a common task in the field of computer vision. As the existing methods provide a detection for the single object in an image, they have an utilization limit for the use of the application, due to similar objects are in the actual picture. This paper proposes an efficient method of object localization for image recognition. The new proposed method uses color correlation back-projection in the YCbCr chromaticity color space to deal with the object localization problem. Using the proposed algorithm enables users to detect and locate primary location of object within the image, as well as candidate regions can be detected accurately without any information about object counts. To evaluate performance of the proposed algorithm, we estimate success rate of locating object with common used image database. Experimental results reveal that improvement of 21% success ratio was observed. This study builds on spatially localized color features and correlation-based localization, and the main contribution of this paper is that a different way of using correlogram is applied in object localization.
This study's purpose is to analyse factors of determination about detouring for makinga standard model in regard of unfavorableness and uncertainty when unspecified individual recipients make a decision at the time of course detour. In order to achieve this, we surveyed SP investigation whether making a detour or not for drivers as a target who take a high way and National highway. Based on this result, we analysed detour determination factors of drivers, establishing a combination model of Decision Tree and Neural Network model. The result demonstrates the effected factors on drivers' detour determination are in ordering of the recognition of alternative routevs, reliable and frequency of using traffic information, frequency of transition routes and age. Moreover, from the outcome in comparison with an existing model and prediction through undistributed data, the rate of combination model 8.7% illustrates the most predictable way in contrast with logit model 12.8%, and Individual Model of Decision Tree 13.8% which are existed. This reveals that the analysis of drivers' detour determination factors is valid to apply. Hence, overall study considers as a practical foundation to make effective detour strategies for increasing the utility of route networking and dispersion in the volume of traffic from now on.

We have developed a wearable device that can convert sensor data into real-time step counts and activity levels. Sensor data on gait were acquired using a triaxial accelerometer. A test was performed according to a test protocol for different walking speeds, e.g., slow walking, walking, fast walking, slow running, running, and fast running. Each test was carried out for 36 min on a treadmill with the participant wearing a portable gas analyzer (K4B2), an Actical device, and the device developed in this study. The signal vector magnitude (SVM) was used to process the X, Y, and Z values output by the triaxial accelerometer into one representative value. In addition, for accurate step-count detection, we used three algorithms: an heuristic algorithm (HA), the adaptive threshold algorithm (ATA), and the adaptive locking period algorithm (ALPA). A regression equation estimating the energy expenditure (EE) was derived by using data from the accelerometer and information on the participants. The recognition rate of our algorithm was 97.34%, and the performance of the activity conversion algorithm was better than that of the Actical device by 1.61%.

Being latecomers to the industrialization, Pacific rim countries except the U.S.A. are doing very little in developing the universal certification system. One should note that Asian Pacific region enjoys the highest economic growth rate, and there is a good possibility that it will be the center of economic activities of the world in the next century. It appears that ISO and CEN share similar specifications in numerous areas. ASNT is being changed to cope with the trend with the introduction of ACCP. Although we may have to adopt the new system someday, we should pay attention and make concerted effort to include our own practice in the global standards. We are the countries in the Far East Region with similar culture and tradition, which are quite different from those of western countries. We hope that Japan should play an important role in this matter, who has been chaired the ISO TC135 since 1993. In the beginning of this decade, there has been a trivial but troublesome matter that who is representing the NDT Society or member countries in Asia-Pacific Conference on NDT. The problem appears to be solved since the establishment of FENDT For the next decade, actually next centry, FENDT will have to accomplish another important role for countries in the Far East Region to form a strong coalition for its survival in the western dominant world. Immediate issue is to establish Far East Working Group for Harmonization and Mutual Recognition of Qualification and Certification of NDT Personnel. To realize this Japan must play a leading role with the cooperation of expanded FENDT member countries including China and Russia. As the continued prosperity expected in this region, FENDT should continue its role for the next centry. We, the FENDT countries, must move forward for internationalization(國際化). However' we must realize that it all start from SELF IDENTI-FICATION. We can identify ourselves by actively participating in FENDT. I would like remind you the concluding remark that I have made in the congratulatory speech at JSNDI 40th Anniversary Conference and FENDT'92. JSNDI is too precious to be Japan's sole possession Staling from the Far East, JSNDI shall become one of the loaders of the world. I sincerely hope that JSNDI take initiatives and leaderships in the future activities. of FENDT countries. I would like to close my talk with "We must hang together, or We shall be hang seperately." Purpose: School safety has recently become an important issue. In order to make a school environment safer, surveillance cameras have been installed in the facilities. The number of installations has been increasing rapidly since they have been considered widely recognizable and highly effective. However, conflicts between faculty and staff in installing and operating the system have also been increasing. In terms of school safety, these individuals'' cooperation is more than necessary. It is judged that looking into how they perceive the system could provide us with some suggestions on how to manage the related issues. The purpose of this study is to understand the perspective of faculty over closed-circuit television (CCTV) and make suggestions by analyzing their actions. Approach: In order to achieve the research objectives, I surveyed administrative actions such as the processing of official documents and CCTV policies for teachers and administrative staff of public schools in the Sejong Office of Education. In addition, I analyzed the behavior of those managing personal information and school safety-related documents along with the degree of complying with the policies. Finding: First, the correspondence rate of documents was high when there were designated document processors. Second, the acceptance level of documents in preschool was relatively low when there were designated processors. Third, the degree of accepting the policies and complying with them was higher in newly established schools than in existing schools. I found differences in the perception of how to handle the CCTV operations and the related work among the two groups of participants. In addition, I made suggestions on how to resolve the conflicts between them. Value: In this study, the education authorities quantified and measured the recognition and acceptance of faculty and staff regarding CCTV at each school level. Results showed that the active role of education authorities can make positive changes in how faculty and staff perceive the CCTV system and the problems surrounding it through school administrative action. In this regard, these results are meaningful in reducing the conflicts among the two groups and improving the organizational culture.

A novel reference point detection method is proposed by exploiting tile gradient probabilistic model that captures the curvature information of fingerprint. The detection of reference point is accomplished through searching and locating the points of occurrence of the most evenly distributed gradient in a probabilistic sense. The uniformly distributed gradient texture represents either the core point itself or those of similar points that can be used to establish the rigid reference from which to map the features for recognition. Key benefits are reductions in preprocessing and consistency of locating the same points as the reference points even when processing arch type fingerprints. Moreover, the new feature extraction method is proposed by improving the existing feature extraction using filterbank method. Experimental results indicate the superiority of tile proposed scheme in terms of computational time in feature extraction and verification rate in various noisy environments. In particular, the proposed gradient probabilistic model achieved 49% improvement under ambient noise, 39.2% under brightness noise and 15.7% under a salt and pepper noise environment, respectively, in FAR for the arch type fingerprints. Moreover, a reduction of 0.07sec in reference point detection time of the GPM is shown possible compared to using the leading the poincare index method and a reduction of 0.06sec in code extraction time of the new filterbank mettled is shown possible compared to using the leading the existing filterbank method.

This paper is a study on implementation of intelligent image surveillance system using context information and supplements temporal-spatial constraint, the weak point in which it is hard to process it in real time. In this paper, we propose scene analysis algorithm which can be processed in real time in various environments at low resolution video(320*240) comprised of 30 frames per second. The proposed algorithm gets rid of background and meaningless frame among continuous frames. And, this paper uses wavelet transform and edge histogram to detect shot boundary. Next, representative key-frame in shot boundary is selected by key-frame selection parameter and edge histogram, mathematical morphology are used to detect only motion region. We define each four basic contexts in accordance with angles of feature points by applying vertical and horizontal ratio for the motion region of detected object. These are standing, laying, seating and walking. Finally, we carry out scene analysis by defining simple context model composed with general context and emergency context through estimating each context's connection status and configure a system in order to check real time processing possibility. The proposed system shows the performance of 92.5% in terms of recognition rate for a video of low resolution and processing speed is 0.74 second in average per frame, so that we can check real time processing is possible.

Recently, fingerprint sensors have widely used for personal information security, and require quality evaluation to reduce an error of their recognition rate. Quality of fingerprint sensors is evaluated by variation of their electrical resistance introducing by contacts between a probe tip and a sensor electrode, Investigation on the materials compatability and structure optimization of probe is required to reduce deformation of sensor electrode for repeatability of quality testing. Nickel, steel(SK4), beryllium copper, and phosphor bronze were considered as probe materials, and beryllium copper was the most appropriate for materials of probe tips, considering indentation and contact resistance while being contacted probe tips on electrodes. Probes of an inspection part were manufactured with the single-unit structure for physical damage prevention and parallel processing capability. Inspection repeatability was evaluated by voltage variation of fingerprint sensors when the specific current was applied. A single-unit inspection part with beryllium copper probe tips showed excellent repeatability within ${\pm}0.003V$ of its voltage variation.

In this paper, a new hardware and software architecture for a stereo vision processing system including rectification, disparity estimation, and visualization was developed. The developed method, named LArge scale stereo matching method using Support Point Interpolation (LASPI), shows excellence in real-time processing for obtaining dense disparity maps from high quality image regions that contain high density support points. In the real-time processing of high definition (HD) images, LASPI does not degrade the quality level of disparity maps compared to existing stereo-matching methods such as Efficient LArge-scale Stereo matching (ELAS). LASPI has been designed to meet a high frame-rate, accurate distance resolution performance, and a low resource usage even in a limited resource environment. These characteristics enable LASPI to be deployed to safety-critical applications such as an obstacle recognition system and distance detection system for autonomous vehicles. A Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) for the LASPI algorithm has been implemented in order to support parallel processing and 4-stage pipelining. From various experiments, it was verified that the developed FPGA system (Xilinx Virtex-7 FPGA, 148.5MHz Clock) is capable of processing 30 HD ($1280{\times}720pixels$) frames per second in real-time while it generates disparity maps that are applicable to real vehicles.
