In this paper, a vehicle type recognition system using deep learning and a license plate recognition system are proposed. In the existing system, the number plate area extraction through image processing and the character recognition method using DNN were used. These systems have the problem of declining recognition rates as the environment changes. Therefore, the proposed system used the one-stage object detection method YOLO v3, focusing on real-time detection and decreasing accuracy due to environmental changes, enabling real-time vehicle type and license plate character recognition with one RGB camera. Training data consists of actual data for vehicle type recognition and license plate area detection, and synthetic data for license plate character recognition. The accuracy of each module was 96.39% for detection of car model, 99.94% for detection of license plates, and 79.06% for recognition of license plates. In addition, accuracy was measured using YOLO v3 tiny, a lightweight network of YOLO v3.

Face recognition technology has been studied for decades and is being used in various areas such as security, entertainment, and mobile services. The main problem with face recognition technology is that the recognition rate is significantly reduced depending on the environmental factors such as brightness, illumination angle, and image rotation. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a robust face recognition against lighting variation using CNN which has been recently re-evaluated with the development of computer hardware and algorithms capable of processing a large amount of computation. For performance verification, PCA, LBP, and DCT algorithms were compared with the conventional face recognition algorithms. The recognition was improved by 9.82%, 11.6%, and 4.54%, respectively. Also, the recognition improvement of 5.24% was recorded in the comparison of the face recognition research result using the existing neural network, and the final recognition rate was 99.25%.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the housewives's recognition and practice on prevention of environmental pollution. The subjects of this study were 250 housewives, school students' mothers, living in Cheong-ju. Major findings were as follows: 1. In washing their faces and brushing their teeth, they saved the water very well, but in taking bath, washing the dished, using the water of the lavatory they did not save the water so well. 2. The kinds of the cleansers differed in taking a bath, washing the hair, and doing the laundry respectively : what they use most was hard soaps in taking bath, liquid cleansers mixed with shampoo and linse in washing the hair, and synthetic powder detergent in laundrying. They used more synthetic detergent than natural soaps, which is known to be a cause of water pollution. Especially, when they cleansed, they did not use a measuring cup. It resulted in the waste of detergent and accelerating of water pollution. Therefore, the environmental education for them was very urgently needed. 3. In handling domestic waste, the separate collection rate of empty bottles and old newspapers was very high, but that of used phone-call cards and used batteries was extremely low. It was truly nessesary to educate and step up publicic activities on the separate collection of phone-call cards and batteries caused environmental pollution. 4. The housewives had much knowledge about environmental pollution, but they did not practice it so well in their home. 5. The housewives made more effort than their children in preventing environmental pollution and saving resources. In conclusion, what is most important for solving environmental problem was for each citizen to make an effort to prevent environmental pollution, and the government's support and producing the atmosphere of the society for this was really needed.
This study examined the recognition and purchasing behavior about environment-friendly agricultural produce (EFAP) of housewives in Yeungnam area. The data were collected from 401 housewives by a self-administered questionnaire on April, 2010. Frequencies, t test, chi-square test, and logistic regression analysis were conducted by SPSS Windows V.17.0. The results of the survey were as follows: (1) the purchase group of EFAP showed higher degree of concern about health and recognition about EFAP than the non-purchase group, (2) knowledge scores about EFAP were very low for both the purchase and non-purchase groups, (3) levels of confidence in EFAP in the purchase group were higher than those in the non-purchase group, (4) the purchase group considered high price as the main distribution problem about EFAP, whereas the non-purchase group regarded low trust toward producers, and (5) monthly household income (below 2,000,000 won) and confidence in EFAP were the significant factors affecting EFAP.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the consciousness and behavior for environmental problems of university student and the necessity of schooling for environmental education. In order to achieve this purpose, a method of questionnaire was administered to total 1012 students selected from 5 universities in Suwon Si etc.. The results in questionnaire were as follows. Most students responded that living environmental education in middle and high school was helpful(70.4%) in practical living. And the most serious problem of living environmental pollution was water pollution(53.6%), air pollution(19.8%), waste material pollution(15.8%), food additives(7.9%), genetic modified organism(3.0%), respectively. And students obtained most knowledge of living environmental problems in internet(87.0%). Also most students responded that the main source and cause of water pollution and air pollution was industrial waste 63.4%, vehicles 61.5%, respectively. And level of environmental behaviors and consciousness of students distributed by major was science & engineering 2.13/4, etc. 2.08/4, art & athletics 1.6/4, liberal art 1.53/4, respectively. And also most respondents have recognition the necessity of schooling for environmental education.
This study conducted a survey on recognition of teachers, students, and Parent Teacher Association(PTA) for the Education for Sustainable Development from April to October, 2008. It confirmed a couple of facts, which were summarized as follows; First, among eight educational areas including Environmental Education, Energy Education, Gender Education, World Heritage Education, Multi-cultural Coexistence Education, Peace Education, Education for human rights, and Education for international understanding that UNESCO had offered, this study showed that the 'Environmental Education' is a relatively important area comparing with others. Second, 54.4% of the respondents have agree with the need of the education for sustainable development in the middle school and the high school, and 54.1% of them showed their willingness to participate in the program. Third, because 49.2% of the respondents chose 'important' on the question of 'how important the field education and the experience education are', it looked like most of them agreed with the importance of the field education and the experience education. Fourth, because 61.1% of the responded teachers chose 'need' on the question of 'if it needs relationship with other studies', it looked like most of them agreed with the necessity of relationship with other studies. Fifth, 62.5% of the respondents chose 'no' on the question of 'if they conduct the education for sustainable development Even if some wanted the education for sustainable development, most of them would not do it in the regular curriculum, but in the special activity class or teacher's discretional time. Sixth, most respondents indicated the teacher's class burden and the teacher's lack of knowledge as the problem if the education for sustainable development would be conducted. This result implied that in order to vitalize the education for sustainable development, the teacher's class burden should be reduced and the teacher train program is necessary. Finally, urgent requested studies could improve the education for sustainable development in communities and schools, because the result of the survey showed education, natural observation learning, and visiting ecological parks as important elements.

Automation of welding process in shipyards is ultimately necessary, since the welding site is spatially enclosed by floors and girders, and therefore welding operators are exposed to hostile working conditions. To solve this problem, a welding mobile robot that can navigate autonomously within the enclosure has been developed. To achieve the welding task in the closed space, the robotic welding system needs a sensor system for the working environment recognition and the weld seam tracking, and a specially designed environment recognition strategy. In this paper, a three-dimensional laser vision system is developed based on the optical triangulation technology in order to provide robots with 3D work environmental map. Using this sensor system, a spatial filter based on neural network technology is designed for extracting the center of laser stripe, and evaluated in various situations. An environment modeling algorithm structure is proposed and tested, which is composed of the laser scanning module for 3D voxel modeling and the plane reconstruction module for mobile robot localization. Finally, an environmental recognition strategy for welding mobile robot is developed in order to recognize the work environments efficiently. The design of the sensor system, the algorithm for sensing the partially structured environment with plane segments, and the recognition strategy and tactics for sensing the work environment are described and discussed with a series of experiments in detail.

In typical face recognition systems, the frontal view of face is preferred to reduce the complexity of the recognition. Thus individuals may be required to stare into the camera, or the camera should be located so that the frontal images are acquired easily. However these constraints severely restrict the adoption of face recognition to wide applications. To alleviate this problem, in this paper, we address the problem of tracking and recognizing faces in video captured with no environmental control. The face tracker extracts a sequence of the angle/size normalized face images using IVT (Incremental Visual Tracking) algorithm that is known to be robust to changes in appearance. Since no constraints have been imposed between the face direction and the video camera, there will be various poses in face images. Thus the pose is identified using a PCA (Principal Component Analysis)-based pose classifier, and only the pose-matched face images are used to identify person against the pre-built face DB with 5-poses. For face recognition, PCA, (2D)PCA, and $(2D)^2PCA$ algorithms have been tested to compute the recognition rate and the execution time.

This study discusses the concept on environment-friendly textile products, environmentally oriented processes of fiber and fabric production, and case reports of environments-friendly products. This study may inspire recognition and necessity of environment-friendly textile products to textile industry and designers ,and also develop the consideration of environmental aspects in the field of textile design and fashion design. Environment-friendly textile products mean not only natural products but also the products reduced the environmentally harmful consequences of their production processes. Because the textile production processes may cause environmental problem. the processes of bleaching, dyeing, mercerising, proofing, and establishing must be carefully controlled. These environment-friendly textile products in this study are divided into development of environment-friendly textile products, recycled textile products, products which are produced by environmentally oriented processes, and recycling capacity in the process of the coming into use. If the textile industrialists and its designers are continuously interested in those environment-friendly products, the textile industrialists produce environment-friendly products in manufacturing process, and the textile and the fashion designers design their products having the conciousness of environment. They reduce environmental pollution caused by producing textile products and are survived in the struggle of existence of the future world trade market.
