  • Although iris recognition verification is considered to be the safest method of biometric verification, studies have shown that iris features may be illegally used. To protect iris features and further improve the security of iris recognition and verification, this study applies the Gaussian and Laplacian mechanisms and to hide iris features by differentiating privacy. The efficiency of the algorithm and evaluation of the image quality by the image hashing algorithm are selected as indicators to evaluate these mechanisms. The experimental results indicate that the security of an iris image can be significantly improved using differential privacy protection.

  • Palm vein identification has attracted attention due to its distinct characteristics and excellent recognition accuracy. However, many contactless palm vein identification systems suffer from the issue of having low-quality palm images, resulting in degradation of recognition accuracy. This paper proposes the use of U-Net architecture to correctly segment the vascular blood vessel from palm images. Attention gate mechanism and residual block are also utilized to effectively learn the crucial features of a specific segmentation task. The experiments were conducted on CASIA dataset. Hessian-based Jerman filtering method is applied to label the palm vein patterns from the original images, then the network is trained to segment the palm vein features from the background noise. The proposed method has obtained 96.24 IoU coefficient and 98.09 dice coefficient.

  • In recent years, multi-focus image fusion has emerged as a prominent area of research, with transformers gaining recognition in the field of image processing. Current approaches encounter challenges such as boundary artifacts, loss of detailed information, and inaccurate localization of focused regions, leading to suboptimal fusion outcomes necessitating subsequent post-processing interventions. To address these issues, this paper introduces a novel multi-focus image fusion technique leveraging the Swin Transformer architecture. This method integrates a frequency layer utilizing Wavelet Transform, enhancing performance in comparison to conventional Swin Transformer configurations. Additionally, to mitigate the deficiency of local detail information within the attention mechanism, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) are incorporated to enhance region recognition accuracy. Comparative evaluations of various fusion methods across three datasets were conducted in the paper. The experimental findings demonstrate that the proposed model outperformed existing techniques, yielding superior quality in the resultant fused images.

  • The method that the operating condition of Control Rod Drive Mechanism (CRDM) can be monitored without mounting sensors within CRDM housing was developed, and by using this developed method the closed-loop controller for the CRDM was designed which can optimize the performance and maximize the reliability of CRDM operation. Neural network is utilized as pattern recognition engine in detecting CRDM actuation. In this paper, most problems in previous open loop system are resolved. The control algorithms for closed-loop system ore developed and implemented within the hardware of timing controller based on microprocessor. All functions in the timing controller ore verified by means of real time CRDM simulator. The results show that the timing controller performs its intended functions properly.

  • In this study the theoretical minimum resolution analysis of an active vision system using laser range finder is performed for surrounding recognition and 3D data acquisition in unknown environment. The laser range finder consists of a slitted laser beam generator, a scanning mechanism, CCD camera, and a signal processing unit. A laser beam from laser source is slitted by a set of cylindrical lenses and the slitted laser beam is emitted up and down and rotates by the scanning mechanism. The image of laser beam reflected on the surface of an object is engraved on the CCD array. In the result, the resolution of range data in laser range finder is depend on distance between lens center of CCD camera and light emitter, view and beam angles, and parameters of CCD camera.

  • This paper describes an algorithm that can efficiently analyze the ECG signal using frame knowledge representation technique. Input to the analysis process is a set of significant points which have been extracted from an original sampled signal(lead II) by the syntactic peak recognition algorithm. The hierarchical property of ECG signal is represented by hierarchical AND/OR graph. The semantic information and constraints of the ECG signal are desctibed by frame. As the control mechanism for labeling points, the search mechanism with the mixed paradigms of data-driven and model driven hypothesis formation, scoring function, hypothesis modification network and instance inheritance are used. We used the CSE database in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

The laser range finder consists of a slitted laser beam generator, a scanning mechanism, CCD camera, and a signal processing unit. A laser beam from laser source is slitted by a set of cylindrical lenses and the slitted laser beam is emitted up and down and rotates around the robot by the scanning mechanism. • Cognitive models of panic disorder have emphasized cognitive distortions' roles in the maintenance and treatment of panic disorder (PD). However, the patient's difficulty with identifying and managing emotional experiences might contribute to an enduring vulnerability to panic attacks. Numerous researchers, employing emotion processing paradigms and neuroimaging techniques, have investigated the empirical evidence for poor emotion processing in PD. For years, researchers considered that abnormal emotion processing in PD might reflect a dysfunction of the frontal-temporal-limbic circuits. Although neuropsychological studies have not provided consistent results regarding this model, a few studies have tried to find the biological basis of dysfunctional emotion processing in PD. In this article, we examine the possibility of dysregulation of emotion processing in PD. Specifically we discuss the neural basis of emotion processing and the manner in which such neurocognitive impairments may help clarify PD's core symptoms.
