2중 실린더 구조를 갖는 인장 가스스프링의 마찰력 변화에 따른 피스톤 거동에 대한 연구 (A study on the behavior of the piston with varying friction force in the double cylinder-typed extension gas spring)

  • 가스스프링은 가스가 압축될 때 가지게 되는 압력을 스프링과 같이 사용하는 형태로, 광범위한 산업분야에 사용되고 있고 그 수요 또한 증가하고 있다. 이 가스스프링은 압축 스프링과 인장 스프링으로 나뉠 수 가 있는데, 압축 스프링과 달리인장 스프링의 경우는 피스톤 속도 제어에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 2중 실린더 구조를 갖는 인장 가스스프링에서의 압력 손실 계산을 통하여 피스톤 반발압력의 크기를 이론적으로 예측하였고, 피스톤과 실린더 사이의 마찰이 작은 경우와 큰 경우에 대하여 피스톤의 실제 거동을 모사해 보았다. 수치해석을 위해서는 유동해석분야에서 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 FLUENT를 이용하였고, 피스톤의 거동을 모사하기 위하여 FLUENT에서 제공하는 6-DOF 모델과 사용자정의함수(User Defined Function)를 사용하였다. 격자는 Layering 기법만으로도 Dynamic mesh가 성공적으로 구현되도록 피스톤 전후의 유동영역을 따로 분할하여 다른 형태의 격자를 생성하였다. 해석 결과 두 경우 다 최종적으로는 목표로 하는 속도로 피스톤이 복귀하는 결과를 보였으나, 최종 속도에 도달하는 과정에서 다른 차이를 보였다.

  • This paper presents comparisons of pullout load of concrete with compressive strength of cylinders and cores, pulse velocity, and rebound number. A pullout test, which is a relatively new nondestructive technique, measures with a special tension ram the force required to pullout a specially shaped steel rod whose enlarged end has been cast into a concrete block. In this study 3 concrete mixes(normal strength, high-strength & super-high-strength) were made. From each mix, one 100$\times$70$\times$20 concrete block, 24 cylinders$(\phi10mm)$were casted. Each tests were performed on the concrete blocks at 3, 7, 28, and 91days. The test data shows that the pullout test is superior to the rebond hammer and the pulse velocity measurements on the evaluation of concrete strength. The pullout test is satisfactory for estimating the strength of in situ concrete at both early and late age, and its results can be reproduced with an acceptable degree of accuracy.

리버스 무단 댐퍼용 연속가변밸브의 튜닝 파라미터에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Tuning Parameter of Continuous Variable Valve for Reverse Continuous Damper)

  • Semi-active suspension systems are greatly expected to be in the mainstream of future controlled suspensions for passenger cars. In this study, a continuous variable damper for a passenger car suspension is developed, which is controlled actively and exhibits high performance with light weight, low cost, and low energy consumption. To get fast response of the damper, reverse damping mechanism is adapted, and to get small pressure change rate after blow-off, a pilot controlled proportional valve is designed and analyzed. The reverse continuous variable damper is designed as a HS-SH damper that offers good body control with reduced transferred input force from tire, compared with any other type of suspension system. The damper structure is designed, so that rebound and compression damping force can be tuned independently, of which variable valve is placed externally. The rate of pressure change with respect to the flow rate after blow-off becomes smooth when the fixed orifice size increases, which means that the blow-off slope is controllable using the fixed orifice size. The damping force variance is wide and continuous, and is controlled by the spool opening, of which scheme is usually adapted in proportional valves. The reverse continuous variable damper developed in this study is expected to be utilized in the semi-active suspension systems in passenger cars after its performance and simplicity of the design is confirmed through real car test.

Damping forces are measured with the change of the solenoid current at the different piston velocities to confirm the maximum hysteresis of 20N, linearity, and variance of damping farce. The damping farce variance is wide and continuous, and is controlled by the spoof opening, of which scheme is usually adapted in proportional valves. The reverse continuous variable damper developed in this study is expected to be utilized in the semi-active suspension systems in passenger cars after its performance and simplicity of the design is confirmed through real car test.

노후 콘크리트 재료의 물성 및 손상도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Physical Property and Damage Index of Decrepit Concrete Materials)

  • 도심지에서의 건물해체 및 발파공사로 노후된 인접 구조물의 구조적 안정성에 영향을 미칠 가능성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 노후 콘크리트 재료의 물성을 파악하기 위하여 반발경도에 의한 압축강도와 X선 회절 및 상 분석에 의한 성분 함량으로 상관성을 비교하였고, 충격 에너지에 의한 손상도 평가를 위해 측정된 탄성파속도 값으로 손상도를 산출하였다. 결과적으로, 반발경도에 의한 압축강도와 재료의 성분 함량은 상관성이 있음을 확인하였고, 탄성파속도 값으로 산출된 손상도는 압축강도가 큰 재료일수록 작게 나타났고, 충격력이 작을수록 작게 나타났다.

언로드 성능 형상을 위한 디스크 범퍼의 제작 및 실험 연구 (Fabrication and Experimental Research of the Disk Bump to Improve the Unloading Performance)

  • The main objectives of the Load/Unload are no slider-disk contact and no media damage. But, it remains unsolved technical problems on the unloading process. While the slider climbs up the ramp at the outer edge of the disk, the possibility of the slider-disk contact by lift-off force and rebound of the slider increases. Keeping in mind of these points, to prevent the slider-disk contact, we apply the disk bump on disk outer edge proceeding unload. First, referring to the simulation results, we select the optimal bump shapes to improve unload performance by unload analysis. Second, the disk bump is mechanically manufactured by pressing disk surface using tungsten tips. The bumps are variously processed by changing pressing pressure of tungsten tips. After confirming bump shape by nano-scanner, the optimal bump shape is applied to experimental unload process. Through this experiment, it is conformed that the unload performance was improved by using the optimal disk bump to prevent the slider-disk contact.

  • Load/Unload technology has more benefits than the conventional CSS technology. However, it remains unsolved technical problem on the unloading process. While the slider climbs up the ramp at the outer edge of the disk, the possibility of the slider-disk contact by lift-off force and rebound of the slider increases. This paper focuses on no slider-disk contact. To prevent the slider-disk contact, we apply the disk bump on disk outer edge proceeding unload. Firstly, in the simulation, the bump dimension is determined by changing bump design parameters. Secondly, dynamic stability of slider have to be checked on disk bump before unload analysis, and unload analysis is performed by applying stable bump shapes to unload simulation. Thirdly, we select optimal bump shape to improve unload performance by unload analysis. Finally, in the experiment, the disk bump is mechanically manufactured by pressing disk surface using diamond tip. That is variously processed by changing pressing pressure. After confirming bump shape by nano-scanner, proper bump shape is applied to real experimental unload process. Through this investigation, we propose the optimal bump design to prevent the slider-disk contact, and then we can realize improved unloading performance.

기혼가구의 생애 첫 주택 소유 과정 (First-time Homeownership of Married Households in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore cohort changes in first-time homeownership in Korea. The study collected qualitative data from individual interviews to explore the housing trajectories of different birth cohorts. As a result, Individual interviews facilitated an exploration of the decision making process of first-time homeowner with in a cohort context. The cohorts born in the 1950s seek a sense of security through homeownership, and have strong Korean sentiments of ownership. They tried various means to buy a house, and real estate market boom at that time played a role in the driving force. The cohorts born in the 1960s have less insecurity of tenure than the previous cohorts, but they still feel the need for homeownership. Since the currency crisis in 1997 caused the fluctuation of housing price, the 1960s cohort experienced a dramatic decline and rebound of assets while the previous cohorts had experienced a steady rise in housing prices. Finally, the attitude towards housing in the group of 1970s cohorts has changed from ownershiporiented to use-oriented.

Development and Application of a New Spray Impingement Model Considering Film Formation in a Diesel Engine

  • The present article presents an extension to the computational model for spray/wall interaction and liquid film processes that has been dealt with in the earlier studies (Lee and Ryou, 2000a). The extensions incorporate film spread due to impingement forces and dynamic motion induced by film inertia to predict the dynamic characteristics of wall films effectively. The film model includes the impingement pressure of droplets, tangential momentum transfer due to the impinging droplets on the film surface and the gas shear force at the film surface. Validation of the spray/wall interaction model and the film model was carried out for non-evaporative diesel sprays against several sources of experimental data. The computational model for spray/wall interactions was in good agreement with experimental data for both spray radius and height. The film model in the present work was better than the previous static film model, indicating that the dynamic effects of film motion should be considered for wall films. On the overall the present film model was acceptable for predication of the film radius and thickness.

Multi-objective durability and layout design of fabric braided braking hose in cyclic motion

  • The fabric braided braking hose that delivers the driver's braking force to brake cylinder undergoes the large deformation cyclic motion according to the steering and bump/rebound motions of vehicle. The cyclic large deformation of braking hose may give rise to two critical problems: the interference with other adjacent vehicle parts and the micro cracking stemming from the fatigue damage accumulation. Hence, both the hose deformation and the fatigue damage become the critical issue in the design of braking hose. In this context, this paper introduces a multi-objective optimization method for minimizing the both quantities. The total length of hose and the helix angles of fabric braided composite layers are chosen for the design variables, and the maximum hose deformation and the critical fatigue life cycle are defined by the individual single objective functions. The trade-off between two single objective functions is made by introducing the weighting factors. The proposed optimization method is validated and the improvement of initial hose design is examined through the benchmark simulation. Furthermore, the dependence of optimum solutions on the weighting factors is also investigated.
