The current study examines whether retirement changes health behaviors and how the effect differs by reasons for retirement. This study conducts fixed-effects logistic regression analyses, using data from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging (KLoSA) over the period 2006 through 2014. Results indicates that retirees are more likely to participate in regular exercise compared to their employed counterparts. Retirement is positively associated with participation in regular exercise regardless of reasons for retirement. The odds of being engaged in smoking among retirees are 50% less relative to those for employees. However, analyses by reasons for retirement reveal that only participants who retired for health problems or reaching retirement age are less likely to smoke cigarettes compared to employed participants. Retirees show significantly lower odds in drinking compared to employees. Yet, further analyses present that only individuals who retired due to health problems are less likely to drink alcohol. Overall, these results suggest that retirement may provide opportunities for positive changes in health behaviors. The present study imply that individuals who retired due to health problems benefits most from retirement in terms of health behaviors compared to retirees who retired for other reasons.
A significant body of information systems research is concerned with user participation as a means to improve user satisfaction within systems development. In spite of the many studies in this area, findings are not consistent or cumulative. One of the reasons for this is not to be considered the type of systems. Most research are focusing on traditional system development under the mainframe environment instead of under end-user based environment like web-based information system or ERP. End-user based environment requires user's strong initiatives in the system development life cycle. It means the user\`s simple participation is not enough and user-led-development is more appropriate for the system success. This paper can call this new concept is end-user joint work which means user has to participate in the system development as a co-developer. This paper investigates how the end-user joint work contributes end-user satisfaction and two variables in particular-job complexity and technical competence-moderate the outcomes of end-user joint work Analysis of 112 independent systems development projects indicated that end-user joint work has a direct relationship with end-user satisfaction. In addition, the two variables were found to moderate key roles on this relationship. That is, the strength of this relationship depended on the level of these factors.
This study is presented a scheme that information security research institutions located within the central area can be participated actively m national defense information security industry. The many of information security company are located in the central region(Daejeon) and there are many research institutes. However, the participation rate of the Defense Information Security Industry is not high compared to other provinces. Although a variety of reasons, there are no the Defense Privacy Office that could have a role in protocol and the information about the industry. In addition, the Department of Defense related to national defense information security industry have not information about research institutions in the central region and are not well to identify the characteristics of institutional technology and research. So in this paper we presented some of the alternatives. 1) Building Pool involved in information security research according to the characteristics of each agency 2) Constitute the research community between Research institutions and the company 3) Build the technology cooperation between research institutions and the defense research institutes 4) Utilization of industry/university/research institutes related to Information Security Industry 5) Make strategic alliances among research institutes based on technical expertise.
This study, performed to analyze the factors associated with health and cancer screening using preventive programs form health insurance among the women of a community, through a survey of about 923 women in Euijungbu-city. The subjects of the study were selected by a proportional cluster sampling method. The self-reported questionnaire was intended to fine factors associated with health screening and cancer screening. The results of this study were as follows: 1. In the case of health screening using health insurance, 14.1% of the subjects turned out to have been screened once or more in their respective life-time. Reasons given for non-participation in the screening were : 'lacking screening information', a belief that' it's not useful' and a belief that they' weren't sick'. 2. The factors associated with health screening behavior were age, educational level, number of doctor visits, BMI and health promotion behavior(p<0.01, p<0.05). Also, the factors associated with health screening behavior were cue to action and health status, and the predictors on health screening behavior were age and health promotion behavior(p<0.01, p<0.05). 3. In the case of cancer screening through the health insurance, 7.4% of the subjects turned out to have been screened once or more respectively in their life-times. Reasons given for non-participation in the screening were : 'lacking screening information', a belief they 'weren't sick' and that it's not useful'. 4. The factors associated with cancer screening behavior were age, educational level, income, alcholol intake, exercise, number of doctor visits and BMI(p<0.01, p<0.05). Aditional factors associated with cancer screening behavior were cue to action, health belief score and health status. Predictors for cancer screening behavior were: age, health belief score, screening attitude and health status(p<0.01, p<0.05). As indicated by the above results, a lack of information was an important factor for a lack of participation in screening. Age and cue to action were also important factors in promoting the cancer screening rate. Therefore, a dissemination of information about cancer screening contributes to the promotion of a screening rate, and cooperation between health insurance and local health cancer facilitates to be public the community-based cancer screening program.
Most consumers have experienced unexpected consumer problems in the new consumption environment. Accordingly consumer education is very important to prevent consumer problems in advance. Adult consumers don't have many chances to take consumer education with various reasons though they are in a core position in the economy. This study developed an on-line consumer education program for adults in consumerism in the website, www.bestmaker.com/cw. The contents of consumerism were divided into five subfields such as consumer rights, responsibility and roles; consumer law; consumer participation; consumer protection; on-line survey. The on-line consumer education program was given to 164 adult consumers who could use internet, and the contents and the methods of the consumer education were evaluated by the same consumers with an on-line survey. The results of the survey show that those in 30's through 40's and with higher education are more satisfied with the contents and the methods of the on-line consumer education. This study implies that the contents, the methods, and the design of an on-line consumer education need to be consistent each other and well organized altogether.
In this study, parallel work-learning training, which was started in 2013 as a pre-employment promotion policy, is an important factor that determines the success or failure of training. As a time when various institutional supplementation is needed to encourage company participation, this study is to identify the factors of participation of companies participating in work-learning parallel. To this end, a questionnaire survey was conducted of companies participating in parallel work-learning in Chungnam, and the results were analyzed using the structural equation model. As a result of the study, the reason for the company's participation in parallel work-learning was firstly, 84% of government subsidy received education and training expenses. Second, 66% of workers were able to pay less than regular workers, and thirdly, it was easy to hire new employees in the field. 26%, 17% of them were invited by acquaintances for no particular reason. Therefore, the study suggests that participation in the work-learning parallel training contributes to the management costs, management of employee turnover, and human resource development. In future research, it is necessary to subdivide tests and estimates by conducting studies on regions, occupations, gender, wages, and years of service in Korea.
PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a promotion campaign for subject recruitment and selection, and reasons of withdrawal from a prospective clinical trial of mandibular two-implant supported overdenture. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The subjects of this study were participants in a randomized controlled clinical trial for investigating prognosis of implants and overdentures with attachments. Recruited subjects were classified by gender, age, and participation motives. Withdrawal rate of the participants before and after enrollment were evaluated. RESULTS. 177 patients were recruited and 51 patients were enrolled for the trial. Among them, 40 participants eventually took part in the trial. 116 subjects (65.5%) were recruited by advertisement and 61 (34.5%) were referred by patients of the hospital or local clinics. Regarding recruitment effectiveness, newspaper recruited the largest number of participants. With respect to referral patients, the proportion of our hospital patients was higher (37/61). Subjects in their 70s comprised the largest proportion (22/51). The male to female ratio was similar (25:26). Final withdrawal rate of all subjects were 74.0%. Among the reasons for withdrawal from enrollment (n=126) presence of remaining teeth and lack of motivation were the most common reasons. CONCLUSION. To facilitate recruitment of clinical trial subjects and improve enrollment rate, it is important to obtain a sufficient number of researchers, perform promotion activity with diverse strategies, cooperate with local dentists, increase the research funding, and alleviate subjects' fear against clinical trials by thorough consultation.
The aim of this study was to identify breast cancer risk factors and reasons for having mammography of the women who applied for mammography, as well as to determine their level of knowledge about risk factors and level of risk perception, and anxiety concerning breast cancer. This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from June 15, 2010 through September 10, 2010, in a university hospital in Ankara, Turkey. A questionnaire prepared by the researchers was used to collect the data. The mean age of the women was $52.1{\pm}9.98$ years. Sixteen percent of the women had a family history of breast cancer. The majority of participants had mammograms (75.8%) before and had gained knowledge about breast cancer and its screening (73.7%). The leading source of information about breast cancer was physicians (46.2%). Physician recommendations, having breast-related complaints, and family history of breast cancer were important reasons to obtain mammography. The mean knowledge score about risk factors of breast cancer was $4.15{\pm}2.73$ and the mean anxiety score was $1.65{\pm}1.61$. It was found that some socio-demographic and obstetrical characteristics of women, their family history, and risk perceptions about breast cancer affect their knowledge and anxiety scores about breast cancer. In conclusion, the present study identified a number of factors affecting mammography participation for women. The results of this study can be helpful in promoting screening for breast cancer.

This study aimed to analyse the participation of women of reproductive age in a cancer screening program, and survey reasons for non-screening in a region from Mexico with high cervical cancer mortality. A total of 281 obstetric patients from a previous HPV study in a social security hospital during 2008-2009 were included. Reasons for not participating in the screening were directly asked. HPV positive patients were invited to participate in an informative workshop, and they filled in a knowledge questionnaire. The women ranged in age from 14-47 years; 123 (43.8%) had never participated in screening, of which 97 (78.9%) had their first sexual intercourse 2 to 10 years ago, resulting in 25% HPV positive. Screening history was strongly associated with 2 or more gestations (OR=10.07, p=0.00) and older age (OR=6.69 p=0.00). When 197 women were contacted and interviewed, reasons referred for non-screening were ignorance, lack of interest or time, recent sexual onset, shame and fear. More than 50% of the workshop participants showed knowledge of HPV, while 38.9% and 25% knew about Pap smear and cervical cancer. A high percentage of women of reproductive age have never had a Pap smear. Promoting the screening program in medical facilities seems to be important in this population. New approaches to inform vulnerable individuals on the benefits of screening need to be implemented, especially for young women.

This paper attempts to investigate Korean youth Not in Education, Employment and Training (NEET) and how daily activities and community participation may influence their positive emotions and job search desire. First, we conducted a focus group interview with 16 NEETs who participated in the Kakao NEET Company project. The project allowed participants to experience employment by founding a virtual company in which each participant selected a daily activity to perform as part of the company's operations. Second, the interview responses were categorized and assigned emotional values using the card sorting technique and multi-dimensional analysis (MDS). A total of 11 emotional values were derived through this process. Finally, a social network analysis was conducted in order to measure the density of relations among the emotional values. Results suggest that immersion, confidence, belongingness were the three highest values evaluated by participants. Furthermore, network diagrams imply that the stronger participants perceived social support and belongingness with others, the stronger their responsibility grew, further leading them to establish steady goals. In particular, the high eigenvector score for "desire for job" suggests that emotional values are sequentially connected to the immersion-social support-responsibility-goal-job desire. This sequence suggests that digital services that are developed with the aim to enhance social values such as the Kakao NEET Project may engender motivation and confidence in youth NEETs. The overall results suggest that a systematic approach to policymaking should be considered in order to provide fundamental solutions and expand opportunities for social participation and emotional comfort, as social isolation due to low self-esteem has been reported as one of the reasons for NEETs' failure in the labor market.
