Proto-Role Theory and the Accusative Case Marker ul/lul in Korean

  • The case marking phenomenon in Korean is closely related to semantic entailment and should be studied as an interface between syntax and semantics. Assuming a direct mapping between syntactic realization and semantic information, this study investigates the role of the accusative marker ul/lul in Korean, and explores the semantic constraints working on the argument realization on the basis of proto-roles hypothesis. Specifically, I will study various types of case alternations in Korean and clarify the role of the accusative marker ul/lul, which manifests the distinction between direct object NPs and oblique NPs.

Microstrip EHF Butler Matrix Design and Realization

  • This paper describes the design and realization of an extra high frequency band $8{\times}8$ microstrip Butler matrix. Operation at 36 GHz is achieved with a frequency bandwidth exceeding 400 MHz. The circuit is implemented on a bi-layer microstrip structure using conventional manufacturing processes. This planar implementation of a Butler matrix is a key component of a switched beam smart antenna with printed antenna elements integrated on-board. Conception details, simulation results, and measurements are also given for the components (hybrid couplers, cross-couplers, and vertical inter-connections) used to implement the matrix.

  • ISS UDIS (International Sapce Station Universal Data Interface simulator) is a data communication interface simulator between ISS and instrument. This paper explains design concept, and verifies operations of ISS UDIS simulator. By realization of the simulator, we ensure data interface skills for a manned-space data communication system.

  • This paper presents a realization of check valve condition monitoring system based on fault diagnosis algorithm and Fieldbus communication. We first acquired AE(acoustic emission) sensor data at the check valve test loop, extract fault features through the teamed neural network, and send the processed data to a remote site. The overall system has been implemented and experimented results are given to show its effectiveness.

  • This paper is concerned with the design automation of the sequential machines. The operations of sequential machine can be diveded into two types such as synchronous and asynchronous sequential machine and their realization is treated in separate mode. But, in order to integrate logic circuits in high volume, mixed mode sequential machine uses common circuitry that consists of gates and flip-flops. Proposed sequential machine can be designed by several method, which are hard-wired implementation, firmware realization by PLA and ROM. And then onr example shows the differnces among three design mothods. Finally, computer algorithm(called MINIPLA) is discussed for various application of mixed-mode sequential machine.

적외선 체열촬영시스템을 위한 고속 광주사기의 구현 (Realization of a High Speed Optic Scanner for Infrared Thermal Imaging)

  • A high speed optic scanner capable of 16 frames/sec imaging has been developed for the realization of the infrared thermal Imaging system with a single element infrared sensor. The high speed optic scanner is composed of a rotating polygon mirror for horizontal scanning, a flat mirror mounted on a galvanometer for vertical scanning, and a spherical mirror. It has been experimentally found that the optic scanner is capable of 16 framesllsec imaging with the frame matrix size of 256 x 64.

  • Zero-waste is sustainable development for ensuring continuous interactions with the environment as well as for the next generations, while expanding across industries. Zero-waste fashion design does not necessarily mean that we should stop making clothes in order to reduce waste, but we consider the social values of sustainability regarding the environment, humans, and profit. In particular, in the pre-use stage of zero-waste fashion design, fashion designers play critical roles. The purpose of this study is to develop a methodology for the realization of zero-waste fashion design through establishing the typology of zero-waste pattern making (ZWPM) as well as exploring the practical implications of zero-waste fashion design. For the realization of zero-waste fashion design that draws from pattern-making principals, this study categorizes zero-waste fashion design into zero-waste pattern cutting (ZWPC) and non-pattern cutting (NPC). ZWPC is based on drafting patterns on a piece of fabric, which can enable the sharing of patterns and processes, while NPC requires little- or non-cutting/sewing in optimizing a piece of fabric, bringing the possibility of creating indefinite forms. ZWPC is sub-categorized into tailored and non-tailored, and NCP into draped and folded. Then, by implementing the typology in undergraduate design programs, this study tests and completes the design methodology for the realization of zero-waste fashion design.

벅아이 코퍼스에서의 젊은 성인 남성의 모음 포먼트 분석 (An Analysis of the Vowel Formants of the Young Males in the Buckeye Corpus)

  • The purpose of this paper is to extract the vowel formants of the ten young male speakers from the Buckeye Corpus of Conversational Speech [1] and to analyze them in comparison to earlier works in terms of various phonetic factors that are expected to affect the realization of the formant distribution. The first two formant frequency values were automatically extracted with a Praat script along with such factors as the place of articulation, the content versus function word information, syllabic stress information, the location in a word, location in utterance, speech rate of three consecutive words, and the word frequency in the corpus. The results indicated that the formant patterns from the corpus were very different from those of earlier works although the overall pattern was similar and that the factors were strongly responsible for the realization of the two formants.   • 사용 조절 모델은 보호된 컨텐츠의 사용에 대한 포괄적인 기술을 허용하는 새로운 접근 조절 모델의 시초이다. 이 범례에서 객체로의 접근에 관련된 결정은 요청 시간에만 제한되어있지 않다. 그것은 보호된 객체의 사용과 결합되며 사용과 병렬식으로 진행되는 지속적 처리가 된다. 사용 조절의 실현은 오랫동안 보안 문서의 전파에 있어서 조절 능력을 잃게 되는 문제를 해결하려한 연구 과제이다. 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 발현으로 문서들이 클라우드에 저장이 되고 문서를 보거나 편집할 수 있는 프로세서들이 클라우드안에 상주하며 문서들은 브라우저와 같은 신 클라이언트에 의해 접근이 가능해진다. 우리는 그러한 시나리오가 이해 당사자의 정책에 기반을 둔 문서 사용 보안에 대한 사용 조절의 실행에 있어 이상적인 기회를 제공하는 사실에 주목한다. 본 논문에서는 클라우드 기반의 어플리케이션에서 더 나은 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 실행하기 위한 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 관리(MCM)를 제안한다. 그리고 클라우드 컴퓨터의 발현과 사용을 통해 보안된 객체의 사용에 있어 매끄러운 조절을 제공하기 위한 강력한 구성을 설계한다. 우리는 이러한 실현을 위해 설계 원칙을 기술하고 제안 구조를 논한다.
