  • Using a web browser, real-time video communication technologies are emerging today. In this paper, we studied the web browser and take advantage of real-time video communication technology for Based on this, we have designed and implemented a Web-based real-time video communication systems. In this system, having different web browsers and web servers through a web browser using the RTC API and HTTP / WebSockets in a real-time video communication is possible. It is available at all terminals, all connected by a network environment from the use of the web browser, will be utilized in the field of visual communications in a limited environment.

  • This paper designs a real-time video playback system using a web camera in the RTSP server. It designs a function to play the video data of the web camera in the client in real time using the web camera in the server and using the RTSP protocol. It consists of a server module function that produces real-time video information using a web camera and a client module function that plays video received from the server in real time. The experiment was conducted by establishing an environment for designing a real-time video playback system using a web camera. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that real-time video playback from the server's web camera worked well.

  • Real-time video communication technology of hybrid Web-based using JavaScript and HTML5 today is on the rise. Therefore, in this paper, we have studied the real-time videoo communication technology using a Web browser that supports HTML5. It has been designed and implemented a system based on HTML5 and JavaScript, allowing for video communication of real-time, such as you would using the HTTP/WebSockets and RTC API through the Web servers in the Web browser between different each other, utilizing a Web browser was. It is available in a usable terminal equipment of a Web browser PC or notebook, smart pad, such as a smart phone, which is available without installation, such as a plug-in register or another. In all environments the network is connected, it is available in all terminals use the Web browser is enabled, which will be utilized in the field of video communication in a restricted environment.

  • A real-time frame-layer rate control algorithm with a token bucket traffic shaper is proposed for distortion variation minimization. The proposed rate control method uses a non-iterative optimization method for low computational complexity, and performs bit allocation at the frame level to minimize the average distortion over an entire sequence as well as variations in distortion between frames. The proposed algorithm does not produce time delay from encoding, and is suitable for real-time low-complexity video encoder. Experimental results indicate that the proposed control method provides better visual and PSNR performances than the existing rate control method.

  • In this paper, we propose a real time video codec adapter for enabling video communications with terminals having a codec which is different from each other. When multimedia services are playing with an office service phone such as a video phone or software phone which has video capability, each terminal is not being considered to have optimized video or voice codec. So when a video phone with only one type of video codec is used in the video streaming service which requires another type of codec, the streaming service is not successful without codec transformation. The real time codec adapter in this paper provides a real time code transformation which enables communication services such as video conferencing between terminals which have different codec.

  • In this paper, 3D input and output systems for a web-based real-time 3D video communication system using IEEE 1394 digital cameras, Intel Xeon Server system and Microsoft Directshow library is proposed. And some conditions for optimizing the operations of the stereo camera, 3D display and signal processing system are analyzed. Input & output systems are carefully selected, which can satisfy the required optimization conditions and the final 3D video communication system is implemented by using three optimized devices. The overall control system is developed with Microsoft Visual C++.Net and Microsoft DirectX 9.1 SDK. Some experimental results show that the observer can feel the natural presence from multi-view(4-view) 3D video of server system in real-time and also can feel the natural presence from 3D video of client system and finally suggest an application possibility of the proposed web-based real-time 3D video communication in real fields.

  • Advancements in mobile phone hardware and network connectivity made communication becoming more and more convenient. Compared to pictures or texts, people prefer to share videos to convey information. For intentions clearer, the way to annotating comments directly on the video are quite important issues. Recently there have been many attempts to make annotations on video. These previous works have many limitations that do not support user-defined handwritten annotations or annotating on local video. In this sense, we propose an augmented reality based real-time video annotation system which allowed users to make any annotations directly on the video freely. The contribution of this work is the development of a real-time video annotation system based on recent augmented reality platforms that not only enables annotating drawing geometry shape on video in real-time but also drastically reduces the production costs. For practical use, we proposed a real-time collaboration system based on the proposed annotation method. Experimental results show that the proposed annotation method meets the requirements of real-time, accuracy and robustness of the collaboration system.

  • In this paper, we describe a method for real-time transmitting video streams based on RTP. In order to guarantee synchronous video streams, we propose a method to grasp network situations by analyzing end-to-end network traffic. In addition, we present an algorithm for satisfying QoS requirements of real-time multimedia transmission and maintaining continuity of transmission. It describes a buffering method for overcoming bandwidth limitations and an analyzing method based on RTCP for grasping network traffic situation to resolve the problem of real-time transmission of video streams.

  • It is essential to support the image and video analysis technology such as motion detection since the DVR and NVR storage were adopted in the real time visual surveillance system. Especially the network camera would be popular as a video input device. The traditional CCTV that supports analog video data get be replaced by the network camera. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of video surveillance system that provides the real time motion detection by the video storage server. The mobile application also has been implemented in order to provides the retrieval functionality of image analysis results. We develop the video analysis server with open source library OpenCV and implement the daemon process for video input processing and real-time image analysis in our video surveillance system.
