The progress of KMTNet microlensing

  • We report the status of KMTNet (Korea Microlensing Telescope Network) microlensing. From KMTNet event-finder, we are annually detecting over 2500 microlensing events. In 2018, we have carried out a real-time alert for only the Northern bulge fields. It was very helpful to select Spitzer targets. Thanks to the real-time alert, KMT-only events for which OGLE and MOA could not detect have been largely increased. The KMTNet event-finder and alert-finder algorithms are being upgraded every year. From these, we found 18 exoplanets and various interesting events, such as an exomoon-candidate, a free-floating candidate, and brown dwarfs, which are very difficult to be detected by other techniques including radial velocity and transit. In 2019, the KMTNet alert will be available in real-time for all bulge fields. As before, we will continue to collaborate with Spitzer team to measure the microlens parallaxes, which are required for estimating physical parameters of the lens. Thus, the KMTNet alert will be helpful to select Spitzer targets again. Also we plan to do follow-up observations for high-magnification events to study the planet multiplicity function. The KMTNet alert will play an important role to do follow-up observations for high-magnification events. Also, we will search for free-floating planets with short timescale (< 3 days) to study the planet frequency in our Galaxy.

  • This paper introduces a monitoring and tracking system for corona19 confirmed patients based on the collected data by installing a device that can manage the access list at the entrance to each building on the campus. The existing QR-based electronic access list can't measure the temperature of the person entering the building and it is inconvenient that members have to scan their QR codes with a smartphone. In addition, when the state manages information about confirmed patients and contacts on campus, it is not easy for members to quickly share and track information. These could lead to cases where a person is in close contact with an infected person developing another patient. Therefore, this paper introduces a device using face recognition library and a temperature sensor installed at the entrance of each building on the campus, enabling the administrator to monitor the access status and quickly track members of each building in real-time.

Prevalence and co-infection status of three pathogenic porcine circoviruses (PCV2, PCV3, and PCV4) by a newly established triplex real-time polymerase chain reaction assay

  • A novel porcine circovirus 4 (PCV4) was recently emerged in Chinese and Korean pig herds, which provided epidemiological situation where three pathogenic PCVs, PCV2, PCV3, and newly emerged PCV4, could co-infect pig herds in these countries. In this study, a new triplex quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (tqPCR) method was developed for the rapid and differential detection of these viruses. The assay specifically amplified each viral capsid gene, whereas no other porcine pathogenic genes were detected. The detection limit of the assay was below 10 copies/µL and the assay showed high repeatability and reproducibility. In the clinical evaluation using 1476 clinical samples from 198 Korean pig farms, the detection rates of PCV2, PCV3 and PCV4 by the tqPCR assay were 13.8%, 25.4%, and 3.8%, respectively, which were 100% agreement with those of previously reported monoplex qPCR assays for PCV2, PCV3, and PCV4, with a κ value (95% CI) of 1 (1.00~1.00). The prevalence of PCV2, PCV3, and PCV4 at the farm levels were 46.5%, 63.6%, and 19.7%, respectively. The co-infection analysis for tested pig farms showed that single infection rates for PCV2, PCV3, and PCV4 were 28.8%, 44.4%, and 9.6%, respectively, the dual infection rates of PCV2 and PCV3, PCV2 and PCV4, and PCV3 and PCV4 were 12.6%, 3.5%, and 5.1%, respectively, and the triple infection rate for PCV2, PCV3, and PCV4 was 1.5%. These results demonstrate that three pathogenic PCVs are widely spread, and their co-infections are common in Korean pig herds, and the newly developed tqPCR assay will be useful for etiological and epidemiological studies of these pathogenic PCVs.

  • The disc cutter mounted on the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) is subjected to cutting forces in three dimensions during rock excavation process. It is widely known that the cutting forces increased with the strength of the rock mass, while the rolling force can be significantly increased when the disc cutter encounters abnormal rotation. Therefore, the cutting force acts on the disc cutter provides important information because it represents the conditions of the rock mass and the disc cutter. For these reasons, several studies have been conducted to measure the cutter forces in real-time. This paper introduces the current status of research on the cutter force measurement of TBM disc cutters, which has been reported in the literature. It is judged that this paper can be a useful reference material when similar technologies are developed in Korea in the future.

  • The 4th industrial revolution is accelerating the transition to digital innovation in various aspects of our daily lives, and efforts for manufacturing innovation are continuing in the manufacturing industry, such as smart factories. The 4th industrial revolution technology in manufacturing can be used based on AI, big data, IoT, cloud, and robots. Through this, it is required to develop a technology to establish a production facility data collection and analysis system that has evolved from the existing automation and to find the cause of defects and minimize the defect rate. In this paper, we implemented a system that collects power, environment, and status data from production facility sites through IoT devices, quantifies them in real-time in a cloud computing environment, and displays them in the form of MQTT-based real-time infographics using widgets. The real-time sensor data transmitted from the IoT device is stored to the cloud server through a Rest API method. In addition, the administrator could remotely monitor the data on the dashboard and analyze it hourly and daily.

Individual Ortho-rectification of Coast Guard Aerial Images for Oil Spill Monitoring (유출유 모니터링을 위한 해경 항공 영상의 개별정사보정)

  • Accidents in which oil spills occur intermittently in the ocean due to ship collisions and sinkings. In order to prepare prompt countermeasures when such an accident occurs, it is necessary to accurately identify the current status of spilled oil. To this end, the Coast Guard patrols the target area with a fixed-wing airplane or helicopter and checks it with the naked eye or video, but it was difficult to determine the area contaminated by the spilled oil and its exact location on the map. Accordingly, this study develops a technology for direct ortho-rectification by automatically geo-referencing aerial images collected by the Coast Guard without individual ground reference points to identify the current status of spilled oil. First, meta information required for georeferencing is extracted from a visualized screen of sensor information such as video by optical character recognition (OCR). Based on the extracted information, the external orientation parameters of the image are determined. Images are individually orthorectified using the determined the external orientation parameters. The accuracy of individual orthoimages generated through this method was evaluated to be about tens of meters up to 100 m. The accuracy level was reasonably acceptable considering the inherent errors of the position and attitude sensors, the inaccuracies in the internal orientation parameters such as camera focal length, without using no ground control points. It is judged to be an appropriate level for identifying the current status of spilled oil contaminated areas in the sea. In the future, if real-time transmission of images captured during flight becomes possible, individual orthoimages can be generated in real time through the proposed individual orthorectification technology. Based on this, it can be effectively used to quickly identify the current status of spilled oil contamination and establish countermeasures.

  • In recent years, by utilizing the greatest strengths of process mining, the various research activities have been actively progressed to use auditing work of business organization. On the other hand, there is insufficient research on systematic and efficient analysis of massive data generated under big data environment using process mining, and proactive monitoring of risk management from audit side, which is one of important management activities of corporate organization. In this study, we intend to realize Hadoop-based internal audit integrated real-time monitoring system in order to detect the abnormal symptoms in prevent accidents in advance. Through the integrated real-time monitoring system for purchasing audit, we intend to realize strengthen the delivery management of purchasing materials ordered, reduce cost of purchase, manage competitive companies, prevent fraud, comply with regulations, and adhere to internal control accounting system. As a result, we can provide information that can be immediately executed due to enhanced purchase audit integrated real-time monitoring by analyzing data efficiently using process mining via Hadoop-based systems. From an integrated viewpoint, it is possible to manage the business status, by processing a large amount of work at a high speed faster than the continuous monitoring, the effectiveness of the quality improvement of the purchase audit and the innovation of the purchase process appears.

  • It is important to grasp biometric data in real time for prompt action in the event of a safety accident at a work site where the risk of safety accidents exists. Among them, blood oxygen saturation is the most important factor in maintaining human life, so real-time oxygen saturation measurement and monitoring is necessary according to the situation as a preemptive response for worker safety management. By receiving real-time bio-signals from workers wearing health and life-risk protective clothing, and sharing and analyzing the worker's risk status in an external system, it is possible to diagnose the worker's current condition and efficiently respond to emergencies that may occur to the worker. In this paper, we propose a wearable oxygen saturation measurement platform technology that can monitor the risk of harmful gases and oxygen saturation of the wearer in real time and ensure the wearer's activity and safety in order to cope with emergency situations at the scene of an accident. If we overcome the limitations identified through the results of the proposed system later and apply improved biodata such as motion correction to the platform, we expect that it will be usable not only in hazardous gas environments, but also in hospitals and homes for emergency patients.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a way to develop the information quality of mobile real estate service and improve the false property through search filter service. I compared the cases of typical mobile real estate apps that are currently in use and analyzed the usage and service status by adopting 13 search filters that are the first priority when searching for real estate information. As a result, it has been shown that the provision of high quality search filter service is required to improve the information quality in order to provide users with quick and reliable information organically at any time and anywhere according to the definition of mobile real estate service. As a result, it is more prejudiced than the countermeasures against false fraudulent products, and it is satisfied with the needs of the users and provides the improved search filter service, so that it can be trusted with the definition of mobile real estate brokerage service, Providing quality services can be said to prevent the victims of fraudulent products.

Design of Intersection Simulation System for Monitoring and Controlling Real-Time Traffic Flow (실시간 교통흐름의 모니터링 및 제어를 위한 교차로 시뮬레이션 시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, we construct the traffic information database by using the acquired data from the traffic information devices installed in road network, and, by referring to this database, propose the intersection simulation system which can dynamically manage the real-time traffic flow for each section of road from the intersections, This system consists of hierarchical 3 parts, The lower layer is the physical layer where the traffic information is acquired on an actual road. The traffic flow control framework exists in the middle layer. The framework supports the grouping of intersection, the collection of real-time traffic flow information, and the remote monitoring and control by using the traffic information of the lower layer, This layer is designed by extending the distributed object group framework we developed. In upper layer, the intersection simulator applications controlling the traffic flow by grouping the intersections exist. The components of the intersection application in our system are composed of the implementing objects based on the Time-triggered Message-triggered Object(TMO) scheme, The intersection simulation system considers the each intersection on road as an application group, and can apply the control models of dynamic traffic flow by the road's status. At this time, we use the real-time traffic information collected through inter-communication among intersections. For constructing this system, we defined the system architecture and the interaction of components on the traffic flow control framework which supports the TMO scheme and the TMO Support Middleware(TMOSM), and designed the application simulator and the user interface to the monitoring and the controlling of traffic flow.
