Real-time Fault Detection in Semiconductor Manufacturing Process : Research with Jade Solution Company

  • Process control is crucial in many industries, especially in semiconductor manufacturing. In such large-volume multistage manufacturing systems, a product has to go through a very large number of processing steps with reentrant) before being completed. This manufacturing system has many machines of different types for processing a high mix of products. Each process step has specific quality standards and most of them have nonlinear dynamics due to physical and/or chemical reactions. Moreover, many of the processing steps suffer from drift or disturbance. To assure high stability and yield, on-line quality monitoring of the wafers is required. In this paper we develop a real-time fault detection system on semiconductor manufacturing process. Proposed system is superior to other incremental fault detection system and shows similar performance compared to batch way.

  • This study suggests a model of production information system that can reduce manufacturing lead time and uniformize quality by using DNC S/W as a part of constructing production information management system in the industrial field of the existing marine engine block manufacturing companies. Under the effect of development of this system, the NC machine interface device can be installed in the control computer to obtain the quality information of the workpiece in real time so that the time to inspect the process quality and verify the product defect information can be reduced by more than 70%. In addition, the reliability of quality information has been improved and the external credibility has been improved. It took 30 minutes for operator to obtain, analyze and manage the quality information when the existing USB memory is used, but the communication between the NC controller computer and the NC controller in real time was completed to analyze the workpiece within 10 seconds.

A Simple Mlodel for Dispersion in the Stable Boundary Layer

  • Handling the emergency problems such as Chemobyl accident require real time prediction of pollutants dispersion. One-point real time sounding at pollutant source and simple model including turbulent-radiation process are very important to predict dispersion at real time. The stability categories obtained by one-dimensional numerical model (including PBL dynamics and radiative process) are good agreement with observational data (Golder, 1972). Therefore, the meteorological parameters (thermal, moisture and momentum fluxes; sensible and latent heat; Monin-Obukhov length and bulk Richardson number; vertical diffusion coefficient and TKE; mixing height) calculated by this model will be useful to understand the structure of stable boundary layer and to handling the emergency problems such as dangerous gasses accident. Especially, this simple model has strong merit for practical dispersion models which require turbulence process but does not takes long time to real predictions. According to the results of this model, the urban area has stronger vertical dispersion and weaker horizontal dispersion than rural area during daytime in summer season. The maximum stability class of urban area and rural area are "A" and "B" at 14 LST, respectively. After 20 LST, both urban and rural area have weak vertical dispersion, but they have strong horizontal dispersion. Generally, the urban area have larger radius of horizontal dispersion than rural area. Considering the resolution and time consuming problems of three dimensional grid model, one-dimensional model with one-point real sounding have strong merit for practical dispersion model.al dispersion model.

  • Plasma is widely used in various commercial etchers and chemical vapor deposition. Unfortunately, real-time plasma process monitoring is still difficult. Some methods of plasma diagnosis is improved, however, it is possible for real-time plasma diagnosis to use non-intrusive probe only. In this research, the object is to investigate the suitability of using impedance analysis and optical emission spectroscopy (OES) for real-time plasma process monitoring. It is assumed that plasma system is a equivalent circuit. Therefore, V-I probe is used for measuring impedance, which can be a new non-intrusive probe for plasma diagnosis. From impedance data, we tried to analyse physical properties of plasma. And OES, the other method of plasma diagnosis, is a typical non-intrusive probe for analyzing chemical properties. The amount of the OES data is typically large, so this poses a difficulty in extracting relevant information. To solve this problem, principal component analysis (PCA) can be used. For fundamental information, Ar plasma and $O_2$ plasma are used in this experiment. This method can be applied to real-time endpoint and fault detections.

Mining Information in Automated Relational Databases for Improving Reliability in Forest Products Manufacturing

  • This paper focuses on how modem data mining can be integrated with real-time relational databases and commercial data warehouses to improve reliability in real-time. An important Issue for many manufacturers is the development of relational databases that link key product attributes with real-time process parameters. Helpful data for key product attributes in manufacturing may be derived from destructive reliability testing. Destructive samples are taken at periodic time intervals during manufacturing, which might create a long time-gap between key product attributes and real-time process data. A case study is briefly summarized for the medium density fiberboard (MDF) industry. MDF is a wood composite that is used extensively by the home building and furniture manufacturing industries around the world. The cost of unacceptable MDF was as large as 5% to 10% of total manufacturing costs. Prevention can result In millions of US dollars saved by using better Information systems.

  • Generally, the animation and image production process consists of three stages: Pre-Production, Main-Production, and Post-Production. Real-time video production is also made based on this configuration. On the premise of the increase of productivity by reducing the production time effectively in the main production stage that takes the most time, this study aims to summarize the process of producing videos, focusing on the concrete main production stage. To do this, we propose a method for creating a real-time image from the point of view of the general user using Unity 3D, one of the game engines. Also, this study utilizes the Cinemachine feature provided by Unity 3D, which is suitable for the implementation of the proposed module structure.

  • 시스템 처리용량의 증가로 과거 메인프레임이 처리하던 작업을 PC가 처리할 수 있게 되었다. 특히 산업계에서는 기존의 메인프레임을 PC급으로 전환하면서 PC급 시스템에서 실시간성을 보장하는 실시간 정보처리와 실시간 정보감시를 위한 실시간 모니터링 기능이 요구되고 있다. 그러나 실시간성의 보장을 위해서는 실시간 기능의 추가 및 이에 대한 검증이 필요하다. 본 논문은 이러한 실시간성의 요구를 충족시키기 위해 실시간성을 제공할 수 있는 시스템의 구축과 이에 대한 성능 검증을 목적으로 한다. 또한 실시간 정보감시를 위해 웹기반의 실시간 모니터링 시스템을 구축하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

  • This paper describes a design of hardware system for real time automatic diagnosis of ECG arrhythmia based on pipeline processor consisting of the three microcomputer. ECG data is acquisited by 12 bit A/D converter with hardware QRS triggered detector. Four diagnostic parameters - heart rate, morphology, axis, and ST segment - are used for the classification and the diagnosis of arrhythmia. The functions of the main CPU were distributed and processed with three microcomputers. There-fore the effective data process and the real time process using microcomputer can be obtained. The interconnection structure consisting of two common memory units is designed to decrease the delay time caused by data transfer between processors and by which the delay time can be taken 1 % of one clock period.

  • In this paper, we apply NHPP model example to s/w process in order to get to know s/w reliability. The test is constructed by a test zig of commercial product loaded real embedded system s/w. It is established to s/w reliability prediction and estimation of real-time embedded system s/w. It is computed the prediction value of cumulative failures, the failure intensity, the reliability and the estimation value of MTTF, Failure Rate. To the more realization of high reliability in the real-time embedded system s/w, if the embedded system s/w is ensured to the test coverage and constructed to stable s/w process & operating system, we can improve the performance and the reliability characteristic of the real-time embedded system s/w.

생물학적 축산폐수 처리공정의 자동제어 방법 및 제어 인자의 안정성 (Real-time Control of Biological Animal Wastewater Treatment Process and Stability of Control Parameters)

  • SBR 처리공정의 자동제어 인자로서의 ORP, pH, DO의 안정성과 유용성을 비교 평가하였다. 시스템 운전동안 ORP와 pH(mV)-time profile 상에서 요염물질의 특이적인 변화시점을 나타내는 NBP와 NKP가 잘 나타났으며 이 시점은 MSC(moving slope change)를 이용하여 쉽게 인식될 수 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그러나 부하량과 포기량 혹은 시스템 OUR이 불균형일 때는 DO나 ORP-time profile 상에서 NBP로 잘못 인식될 수 있는 가짜 제어시점이 여러 번 발생하거나 혹은 제어시점으로 인식할만한 변화가 전혀 발생하지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 pH(mV)-time profile에서는 어떤 운전조건과 상태에서도 항상 뚜렷한 NBP가 발생하고 MSC를 이용한 제어시점 인식이 가능함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 호기적 처리과정 중의 시스템 진단과 자동제어 인자로 ORP나 DO 보다 pH(mV)가 안정적임을 알 수 있었다. 반면 무산소 상태의 모니터나 제어에 있어서는 pH(mV)-time profile에서 NKP를 안정적으로 인식하는 데에는 한계가 있었으나 ORP에서는 매우 안정적인 것으로 나타나 무산소 처리과정의 진단/제어인자로는 ORP가 다른 인자들 보다 유용함을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과로 미뤄 SBR 공정의 안정적인 자동제어를 위해서는 ORP 혹은 pH(mV)를 단독으로 이용하는 것 보다는 병용하는 것이 바람직하며, 이러한 자동제어기술은 유입수내 오염물질의 농도 변이와 운전여건에 상관없이 항상 오염물질의 완전제거를 가능케 함은 물론 처리시간 및 처리용량의 최적화를 위한 실용적 기술이 될 것으로 판단된다.
