Quick Evaluations of the KOMPSAT-1 Orbit Maneuvers Using Small Sets of Real-time GPS Navigation Solutions

  • Quick evaluations of two in-plane orbit maneuvers using small sets of real-time GPS navigation solutions were performed for the KOMPSAT-1 spacecraft operation. Real-time GPS navigation solutions of the KOMPSAT-1 were collected during the Korean Ground Station(KGS) pass. Only a few sets of position and velocity data after completion of the thruster firing were used for the quick maneuver evaluations. The results were used for antenna pointing data predictions for the next station contact. Normal orbit maneuver evaluations using large sets of playback GPS navigation solutions were also performed and the result were compared with the quick evaluation results.

  • In this paper, we have studied a communication protocol which may provide Audio/Video data transmission in real time. Auido/Video data have its own characteristics. A new transport protocol with realtime constraint has been designed and implemented which performs dynamic error control and flow control depending on the characteristics of transmitted Audio/Video data. Since the receiving data can be predicted from the previously received data using the prediction function in Auido/Video data transmission, these functions are introduced in our transport protocol that may possibly improve the speed of data transmission and give a real time response. We have tested our transport protocol and measured the performance by the simulation. We assume that our transport protocol would be used in LAN environment. Our prime purpose is to provide a reliable and real time Auido/Video data transmission service.

  • In recent years there have been increasing interests in real-time object tracking with image information. Since image information is affected by illumination, this paper presents the real-time object tracking method based on neural networks which have robust characteristics under various illuminations. This paper proposes three steps to track the object and the fast tracking method. In the first step the object color is extracted using neural networks. In the second step we detect the object feature information based on invariant moment. Finally the object is tracked through a shape recognition using neural networks. To achieve the fast tracking performance, this paper first has a global search of entire image and tracks the object through local search when the object is recognized.

  • 객체 지향 분산 실시간 시스템은 1990년도에 시작되어 현재 빠르게 급성장하고 있는 공학의 한 분야이다. 분산 실시간 시뮬레이션은 실시간의 초기 분야로서 실시간 시뮬레이션의 중요함을 광범위하게 나타냈으며 점진적으로 시뮬레이션이 크게 사용 할 수 있음을 TMO를 통해 보인다. 분산 시간-구동 시뮬레이션 구조도 개념적으로 간단하고, 사용하기 쉬우며, 또한 광범위하게 적용 및 응용이 가능함도 연구한다. 차세대 객체 지향 실시간 시뮬레이션 프로그래밍 구조에서 시간구동과 메시지 구동 객체지향(TMO) 프로그래밍 구조를 실시간 시뮬레이션 프로그래밍의 특별한 예시로서 사용하였다. 연구에서 제시한 TMO 구조도 일반적인 형태의 컴포넌트 구조로 이루어졌기 때문에 구조 내에서 실시간 객체 또는 비실시간 객체를 포함한 모든 형태의 컴포넌트 설계 등으로 지원함을 보인다.

  • 본 논문에서는 SLM(TFT LCD)과 광굴절 결정을 이용하며 실시간으로 처리할 수 있는 칼라 패턴인식 시스템을 구현하였다. 이 시스템은 인식하고자 하는 문자패턴을 SLM을 이용하여 제어하고, 우수한 각도 선택성과 광굴절 특성을 갖는 LiNbO$_3$(두께 10mm) 결정을 기록 매질로 사용하였다. 제안된 광학 시스템에 의해 빨간색과 녹색 칼라 패턴의 모양 정보와 칼라 정보를 각각 다른 위치에서 실시간 처리로 확연히 판별해서 인식할 수 있었다.

  • The epoch-making event of history called "JE JU 4.3" took place in JE JU beautiful island on liberation political situation in 1948. The cruelties of this event were reported awful life loss over 30,000, cruel slaughter by government, scorched villages in mountain area, silence exaction and disadvantage of implication for long time over 40 years. But, the real features are in still a fog.. Recently, the searching movement has arised owing to democracy atmosphere and literature works with "JE JU4.3" materials were published from 1988 and the government announced official apologies in 2003. The novel "The Sun-set on Halla Mt", one of those works, is accessible to real history due to its time/space back ground and the real name of persons who were related with this event. It is important for readers to consider the difference between real history and fiction story. Because a historical novel should be evaluated by writer's theme rather than history character.

  • This note addresses the problem of reliable (equation omitted) output-feedback control design for linear systems with actuator and/or sensor failures. An output feedback control design is proposed which stabilizes the plant and guarantees an (equation omitted)-norm bound on at-tenuation of augmented disturbances including all admissible actuator/sensor failures. Based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, the output- feedback controller design method is constructed by formulating to LMIs that cover all failure cases. Ef-fectiveness of this controller is validated via a numerical example.

  • The excitation control system of an emergency diesel generator is classified as a kind of safety-related system. Compared with other control systems in a power plant, this system is required to be more reliable and have better performance. KEPCO Research Institute successfully developed the excitation control system for a diesel generator. This paper presents its field test results by using a real time simulator on a nuclear power plant.

Development of Real-Time PCR for the Detection of Clostridium perfringens in Meats and Vegetables

  • A real-time PCR assay was developed and validated inhouse specifically for the detection of Clostridium perfringens (Cl. perfringens) in meats and vegetables by comparing with the culture method. The detection limit of the real-time PCR assay in phosphate-buffered saline was $10^2$ CFU/ml. When the two methods were compared in food samples inoculated with Cl. perfringens, the culture method detected 52 positives, whereas real-time PCR detected 51 positives out of 160 samples. The difference was without statistical significance (p>0.05). Real-time PCR assay is an option for quality assurance laboratories to perform standard diagnostic tests, considering its detection ability and time-saving efficiency.
