UCI Embedder: A Real-time Broadcast-Content-Identifier Watermarking System for Broadcast Content Distribution Services (방송콘텐츠 유통서비스를 위한 실시간 콘텐츠식별자 은닉삽입 시스템)

  • We introduce the standard content identifier Universal Content Identifier (UCI) and a watermarking system that embeds UCI for the broadcast content distribution services. Our proposed UCI embedder is designed in consideration of integrating with the previously established broadcast system and protecting the illegal distribution of broadcast contents. Our goal is that when broadcast content is transmitted, 28 byte UCI is embedded imperceptibly in the content itself in real-time and the embedded UCI is successfully extracted not only in the typical format used in the broadcast content distribution service but also in the illegally distributed broadcast contents. Usually the illegally distributed contents are modified from the original by changing resolutions, frame rates, or adjusting colors. In this paper, we present a watermarking scheme that embeds 28 byte UCI in broadcast content in real-time while keeping the visual quality high and the embedded watermark robust enough to survive through the various modification. The experimental results show that the embedded UCI remains in the various modified versions of content and that the visual degradation by embedding is not noticeable.

Motion-Blurred Shadows Utilizing a Depth-Time Ranges Shadow Map

  • In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for rendering motion-blurred shadows utilizing a depth-time ranges shadow map. First, we render a scene from a light source to generate a shadow map. For each pixel in the shadow map, we store a list of depth-time ranges. Each range has two points defining a period where a particular geometry was visible to the light source and two distances from the light. Next, we render the scene from the camera to perform shadow tests. With the depths and times of each range, we can easily sample the shadow map at a particular receiver and time. Our algorithm runs entirely on GPUs and solves various problems encountered by previous approaches.

  • In recent years, virtual reality (VR) technology has been widely used in many industrial fields, especially in the fields of medical treatment, games, film and television, to improve the interaction between medical teaching and practical treatment. On the gaming side, the production of virtual reality gaming screens and scenes became increasingly popular, greatly expanding the form of the visual experience. But VR is no longer confined to the health care, education and entertainment industries. During this time, the news media industry has also begun to integrate virtual reality into interviews and user interactions. This study aims to analyze the development of VR technology from the perspectives of immersive VR news experience, real reporting, and prospects, and analyze and think about the interactive participation of media users, the transformation of traditional media, and the upgrading of practitioners' roles.

  • This paper deals with the Cell-based distributed processing for generating free viewpoint images by merging multiple differently focused images. We previously proposed the method of generating free viewpoint images without any depth estimation. However, it is not so easy to realize real-time image reconstruction based on our previous method. In this paper, we discuss the method to reduce the processing time by dimension reduction for image filtering and Cell-based distributed processing. Especially, the method of high-speed image reconstruction by the Cell processor on SONY PLAYSTATION3(PS3) is described in detail. We show some experimental results by using real images and we discuss the possibility of real-time free viewpoint image reconstruction.

  • 본 논문에서 구현한 MPEG-4 미디어 재생기는 네트워크를 통하여 스트리밍 서버에 메시지를 전송하고, 스트리밍 서버로부터 전송된 미디어 스트림을 처리하여 사용자의 화면에 보여주는 역할을 수행한다. 미디어 재생기는 서버에게 VCR(Play, Pause, Stop, Jump)이벤트를 전송하며, 리눅스 운영체제에서 동작한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 미디어 재생기는 VCR 연산을 위한 RTSP(Real Time Streaming Protocol)를 지원하며 데이터의 실시간 전송을 위하여 RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol)/RTCP(real-time transport control protocol)를 지원한다. RTP/RTCP를 통하여 네트워크 QoS와 관련된 정보를 획득하며 그 정보에 따라서 데이터 전송율을 조절하고 RTCP를 이용하여 에러 패킷에 대한 재전송을 사용한다. 재전송시 미디어 재생기의 버퍼링 상태와 멀티미디어 데이터의 재생시간을 고려하여 멀티미디어 데이터의 끊김이 없도록 한다.

  • As the online media continues to evolve and the mobile computing environment has improved dramatically, the distribution of Internet information has rapidly changed from one-sided to consumer-oriented. Therefore, measuring the interest of Internet information has become an important issue for suppliers and consumers. In this paper, we analyze the Internet information interest by analyzing the duration of real - time query by collecting data for one month by implementing real - time search word provided by domestic Internet information provider.

  • In this paper, I present an approach to implement a real-time video transceiver using software-defined radio (SDR). Through this, it is expected that it will be able to lower the access threshold and provide new perspectives and insights to researchers who want to study the recently spotlighted Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) and implement it through SDR devices and open software.

  • After starting digital terrestrial broadcasting, there have been a number oftrials to provide new services like data broadcasting on a spare bandwidth of a DTV channel. Recently, the Push-VOD service, which provides A/V contents on that bandwidth, gets more attention and is being standardized as NRT(Non-Real-Time) by ATSC. However, it is highly probable that the contents transmitted in this way contain many errors due to the DTV receiving environment. Thus, in order to improve the reliability of transmission, the contents should be transmitted repeatedly several times, considering the unidirectional property of DTV terrestrial network. In this paper, we propose a method to calculate the optimal number of repetitions to transmit each contents in a way that minimizes the number of errors occured, when trying to transmit several contents to the receiver in a restricted time, using Markov-chain modeling and dynamic programming approach.
