  • In this article, a new approach is presented to improve the unchangeable function of a ready-made millimeter-wave antenna system. By designing a metamaterial surface appropriate for the given geometry and fixed electrical characteristics of the device, the properties of the radiated fields of the RF product are changed to have directivity and higher antenna gain. Unlike other designs using periodic metamaterials for a single patch, an aperiodic metasurface is developed to handle two patches. For a higher received signal strength and a longer RF path in the 24 GHz-radio link, an aperiodic metasurface enhances the radiated fields by 10 dB.

  • The purposes of this study are to examine the concept of customized fashion product design as a new industrial paradigm reflecting individual customers' needs in modern society, and to grasp its sociocultural meaning. It is thought that this study will be helpful to investigate the cultural thinking of contemporaries represented through the consumption. For this, the documentary study and practical case study have been executed. As modern fashion business becomes more consumer-oriented due to the industrial paradigm shift, there appeared the prosumer as both consumer and producer. The type of customized fashion product design can be classified as 1) the traditional custom-made design in haute couture and classic tailoring 2) the tailor-made design in the prestige line of ready to wear 3) DIY custom design 4) mass customized design of customer involvement. The traditional custom-made design in haute couture and classic tailoring and the tailor-made design in the prestige line of ready to wear is to provide the distinguished product which has the best quality as well as the excellent beauty for VIP consumer. The DIY custom design is for creative consumer searching for the fun of craftsmanship to take part in producing personally. The mass customized design of customer involvement is to personalize product by selecting design module in mass production. • This study held a questionnaire for men in their 60s or above to analyze the market research of slacks, understand the characteristics of their lower body types, and provide the basic data for the slacks pattern-making fitting the body types of senior citizens. The findings are as follows. According to the results of a questionnaire, elderly men preferred order-made slacks for better fitness, but they favored ready-made owing to the matter of prices. In particular, the girth of waist was the most considered when purchasing. However, as most customers tended to repair slacks length and the waist part, their unsatisfaction with sizes was rather high. In body measurements, elderly men had higher variable coefficients or more individual differences in the items of thickness and angles than in those of height, length, and girth. Factor analysis revealed 5 front and 6 side factors. According to the results of front-side somatotype analysis, pimento-flat, trapezoid-flat, and bent-flat types require narrower pattern designs in down-upper width than the middle-aged class. In addition, pimento-protruded hip and straight-jar types need to be designed in the same amount as in the middle-aged class. Based on the questionnaire results, down-upper length as 1cm above real dimensions was analyzed to have superior sense of wearing.

  • Nowadays, the family system has changed from a large extended family group to a more nuclear family and the number of people who live by themselves has been increasing. Moreover, Korea is becoming an aged society, and pets are becoming more important as leave the family home. So a lot of people in Korea now consider pets as their family members due largely to the drastic change of their life style. Therefore, the rate of importing commodities for pets like cats and dogs has been increasing dramatically. In this study, in response to the growing interest in the pet industry, I have studied recent trends and types in the pets wear markets which are still in the first stage of development in Korea. In order to enhance the possibility of mass producing pets ready-made clothes for making the unit cost lower, firstly, I presented a new basic design and pattern of pets wear made up of general textile. After that, following basic purpose of pet wear, I classified decorative clothes into party wear, everyday wear and street wear and then I developed the pattern and made a pair of works for each item totaling 6 in all. I hope that the number of Korean companies which can enhance their reputation through by marketing these products in Korean as well as all around the world will increase. I believe this will be possible because by taking advantage of the easy pattern developed in this thesis. They will be able to mass produce their own high quality pets wear brand.

  • The consumption of poultry meat (chicken and turkey) grew the most during the past few decades due to several contributing factors such as low price, product research and development, favorable meat characteristics, responsive to consumer needs, vertical integration and industry consolidation, new processing equipments and technology, and aggressive marketing. The major processing technologies developed and used in chicken processing include forming/restructuring, tumbling, curing, smoking, massaging, injection, marination, emulsifying, breading, battering, shredding, dicing, and individual quick freezing. These processing technologies were applied to various parts of chicken including whole carcass. Product developments using breast, thigh, and mechanically separated chicken meat greatly increased the utilization of poultry meat. Chicken breast became the symbol of healthy food, which made chicken meat as the most frequent menu items in restaurants. However, the use of and product development for dark meat, which includes thigh, drum, and chicken wings were rather limited due to comparatively high fat content in dark meat. Majority of chicken are currently sold as further processed ready-to-cook or ready-to-eat forms. Major quality issues in chicken meat include pink color problems in uncured cooked breast, lipid oxidation and off-flavor, tenderness PSE breast, and food safety. Research and development to ensure the safety and quality of raw and cooked chicken meat using new processing technologies will be the major issues in the future as they are now. Especially, the application of irradiation in raw and cooked chicken meat products will be increased dramatically within next 5 years. The market share of ready-to-eat cooked meat products will be increased. More portion controlled finished products, dark meat products, and organic and ethnic products with various packaging approaches will also be introduced.

  • Here is a research on hospital foodservice system, when korea traditional food of pyeon yuk and bin dae deok were used by ready-prepared foodservice system, it was estimated the preservations of microbiological quality and sensory quality. All data collection was replicated three times. The results were as following; 1. In time and temperature data, two menu items were needed internal temperature below $7^{\circ}C$ in a cooling stage, and in the case of cook/chill storage, the days were shortened within weeks, and the holding time must be possiblely minimized. Finally foods were served sanitary. 2. In view of microbiological safety, in the case of cook/chill storage as $0{\sim}4^{\circ}C$ the days must be shortened within 2 weeks and its was possible to store until 6 weeks in $-20{\sim}-23.3^{\circ}C$. So to preserve pre-cooked food longly, it was effective to freeze them quickly by using vacuum package and to reheat them by a microwave oven before serving and to serve lastly in microbiological quality. 3. Hospital ready-prepared foodservice system with food storage in plastic bags, biochemical test of C. Perfingens C. botulinum and Salmonella were not detected. 4. By using of a microwave oven, it had effects of thawing, reheating and sterilizing of chilled and frozen foods in a short time. 5. Sensory evaluations were made by a 10-member panel using five scoring tests. Because sensory of quality was lowered in the case of chilled storage, it was possible to serve foods within 2 weeks. Texture and aroma were preserved by cook/frozen system and usually there was no significance from 4 weeks until 6 weeks, but considering of the objects, it was good to store until 4 weeks in sensory quality.

  • In the course of transportation of ready mixed concrete, it sometimes happens that time of haul from mixing at a batching plant to placing of the concrete at a job site is prolonged too much. When it does happen, improvement in the concrete workability needs to be made by proper measures. It is proposed, therefore, to discuss the quality of concrete modified by time of haul and to search for methods for improvement of the quality by means of adding cement and water or superplasticizer. It was found in this experiment that retempering concrete with superplasticizer is useful in coping with the quality deterioration.
