This study surveys how teachers can improve their understanding about the concept of declination only through reading the material presented as non-dipole magnetic model. This study also investigates a difference between the content of declination presented in "Earth Science II" textbook under the 2009 revised National Curriculum and that of the past one. Thirty teachers in Gyeonggi province and thirty three in the city of Seoul are surveyed; they are selected from the participants of required training that provides their first grade regular teaching certification. Findings of this study are as follows. First, the study finds that teacher participants possess several misconceptions about the declination. Their typical misconception show that a compass needle directly indicates the magnetic north pole. This type of misconception is not corrected only by a reading the material. Second, the study shows that the degree of teachers' understanding about the concept of declination improves through the reading the material of a non-dipole magnetic model. Third, the study reveals that the material of nod-dipole magnetic model is more effective with teachers than students. Finally, the study suggests that explanations including non-dipole magnetic model be revised in the current textbooks.

To get social recognition and the basis of development of public libraries in the 21st century, the knowledge information age, Public libraries must recognize their social role clearly and perform it effectively. For performance of advisable social role of public libraries, this study proposed that 1) establishment Library's Bill of Rights, 2) abolition of the function of‘reading room’of libraries, 3) reform of the assessment system and introduction of certification system for improvement in service quality, 4) an epoch-making improvement of library collections.

Background: Many patients use online resources to educate themselves on surgical procedures and make well-informed healthcare decisions. The aim of our study was to evaluate the quality and readability of online resources exploring shoulder arthroplasty. Methods: An internet search pertaining to shoulder arthroplasty (partial, anatomic, and reverse) was conducted using the three most popular online search engines. The top 25 results generated from each term in each search engine were included. Webpages were excluded if they were duplicates, advertised by search engines, subpages of other pages, required payments or subscription, or were irrelevant to our scope. Webpages were classified into different source categories. Quality of information was assessed by HONcode certification, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) criteria, and DISCERN benchmark criteria. Webpage readability was assessed using the Flesch reading ease score (FRES). Results: Our final dataset included 125 web pages. Academic sources were the most common with 45 web pages (36.0%) followed by physician/private practice with 39 web pages (31.2%). The mean JAMA and DISCERN scores for all web pages were 1.96±1.31 and 51.4±10.7, respectively. The total mean FRES score was 44.0±11.0. Only nine web pages (7.2%) were HONcode certified. Websites specified for healthcare professionals had the highest JAMA and DISCERN scores with means of 2.92±0.90 and 57.96±8.91, respectively (P<0.001). HONcode-certified webpages had higher quality and readability scores than other web pages. Conclusions: Web-based patient resources for shoulder arthroplasty information did not show high-quality scores and easy readability. When presenting medical information, sources should maintain a balance between readability and quality and should seek HONcode certification as it helps establish the reliability and accessibility of the presented information. In this study, a survey of public library librarians was conducted to examine the current librarian's job status by conducting a survey on the library's environment, such as the size of books, number of employees, and operating subjects. As a result of the study, it was found that based on the current job content and recognition, librarians are mainly working in the order of operating reading culture programs, planning reading culture programs, and user information services. In addition, it can be seen that librarians highly value the importance of their respective duties, and in the case of labor intensity, more than half of them recognize that the current labor intensity is high. Among the detailed competency units corresponding to each task in the future, more appropriate competency unit elements should be considered in consideration of the essential competency, additional supplementation, and lower factors through this study. In addition, the higher the number and experience of regular workers in the library, the higher the degree of librarian certification, and the higher the current position, the higher the importance, difficulty, and expertise of the current work, so it is expected that the library should continue to build experience in the future.

The Korean fashion industry is composed of originality, technique and business management. It is going to be the main role in the living and cultural industry in 21th century as a strategic advanced industry. On the other hand, more than 15,000 persons who majored in correlated fashion are graduated from universities, colleges, and fashion schools every year. But professional and competent persons specialized in clothings are very insufficient. So cultivation of the talented for fashion industry must be suitablely and differentially carried out, according to regional distinction or characteristics of each university, college level, institute and so on. At same time, it is for the subdivided professional educations in fashion field, also. Education institutions related fashion have to practice not only theory but also field-oriented education of fashion industry. The fashion enterprise must invest resolutely in reeducations for incoming and reading employees, too. Briefing the program of cultivating the competent as follows : (1) The execution of certification programes based on professional job series. (2) Cultivation of the talent by cooperation of industry and educational field. (3) Upbringing the specialists who have both abilities of foreign language and living cultural profession. (4) Establishment of a base oriented north-east Asia as the central fashion business. (5) Efficient using of multi-media. (6) Innovation of technology. (7) Preferential treatment of skilled labors apparel industry field. (8) Establishment of the Korean Society of Fashion Business for a bridge of industrial-educational complex and government, for cultivation of the talent. The programs of 'cultivation of the talent' must be differed from to whom', 'what', 'how long'. But the commonness in all is to need the stimulative education and creativity. Through it, 'what and how think' and 'how application' to all directions is acquired.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the temporary librarians' employment status that have been placed in over 80% of the school libraries and deduce the issues of their job status for proposing some solutions to improve their job performance. To achieve the above research purposed in this study, the related literature was reviewed and analyzed and an interview was conducted with the librarians in the Chungbuk province and a survey was distributed in the same province. As a result, first, a high correlation was found between the total satisfaction and the factors as follows; 'working satisfaction', 'employment conditions', 'working environment', 'interpersonal relations' etc. In the difference verification based on the satisfaction in accordance with the employment status, a difference of satisfaction was found between the pre and post analyses of the unlimited contractions. Second, the most overall review of the temporary librarians' job performances in relation to the 'reading and lending performances was conducted, regardless of the librarian certification. Third, the temporary librarians working at the school libraries responded that 'the manpower developer' was the most difficult consideration in relation to their employment statuses. And, asked about the solutions for the improvement of their job conditions, most of the librarians wanted their job security.

The purpose of this research was to conduct grounded-theory-based explorations on the types of motivation that make pre-service elementary school teachers learn science and on their type-based science-learning processes. One hundred thirty-two pre-service elementary school teachers' motivation types were analyzed, and amongst them, 12 were selected as the subjects to observe their science-learning processes to which grounded theory applied. As a result of analyzing their science-learning motivation types, it was found that the majority belonged to the type "accurators", followed in descending order by the types "directors", "explorers", and "coordinators". Coding various phenomena that appeared in their science-learning processes made it possible to derive 30 categories from them according to the grounded-theory paradigm model elements. Based on such categories derived, analysis could be made on their science-learning process flows by motivation types, according to the grounded-theory paradigm model. For example, the "accurators" were attending science lectures or reading science books to learn science knowledge and how to teach it, from a sense of obligation they took for granted as elementary school teachers. Although their experiences of science-learning processes could not be from pure intentions, due to the teacher certification examination, curriculum, or other environmental factors, they were found to have new perspectives on science with their individual efforts and participations.
