Global Postural Re-education 운동과 일반적인 요부 안정화 운동(LSE)의 비교 -여성노인을 대상으로- (Comparisons between Global Postural Re-education Exercise and Lumbar Stabilization - Focuhing on Eldery Women)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to compare 2 different interventions, global postural re-education (GPR) and specific spinal stabilization exercise in the healthy elderly of women. Methods : A total of 28 subjects were randomized into 2 treatment groups: GPR, where therapy involved muscle global chain stretching, or specific spinal stabilization exercise with conventional static stretching (GPR group: n=14, specific spinal stabilization exercise group: n=14). Both groups received exercise intervention 3 times a week for 12-weeks. Results : Outcome was based on trunk endurance, trunk flexibility, Pressure Bio Feedback, Oswestry Disability Index measured immediately before and after intervention. Trunk flexibility, Pressure Bio Feedback, Oswestry Disability Index improved more in GPR group after intervention. There were no differences between the 2 exercise approaches for any of the trunk endurance. Conclusion : As the above results, GPR appear to improve Trunk flexibility, Pressure Bio Feedback, Oswestry Disability Index to the elderly of women. The efficacy of the GPR program used in this study should be further investigated in a long period study and objective outcomes.

E-mail Classification and Category Re-organization using Dynamic Category Hierarchy and PCA

  • The amount of incoming e-mails is increasing rapidly due to the wide usage of Internet. We often group e-mails into categories for maintaining e-mail efficiently. However reading the email messages and classifying them is still tedious task. Moreover, the number of e-mails and manual classifying is increasing everyday. So, automatic e-mail classification is important techniques. In this paper, we propose a multi-way e-mail classification method that uses PCA for automatic category generation and dynamic category hierarchy for re-organizing e-mail categories. It classifies a huge amount of receiving e-mail messages automatically, efficiently, and accurately.

Computation of aerodynamic coefficients of a re-entry vehicle at Mach 6

  • The paper evaluates the aerodynamic coefficients on a blunt-nose re-entry capsule with a conical cross-section followed by a cone-flare body. A computer code is developed to solve three-dimensional compressible inviscid equationsfor flow over a Space Recovery Experiment (SRE) configuration at different flare-cone half-angle at Mach 6 and angle of attack up to 5°, at 1° interval. The surface pressure variation is numerically integrated to obtain the aerodynamic forces and pitching moment. The numerical analysis reveals the influence of flare-cone geometry on the flow characteristics and aerodynamic coefficients. The numerical results agree with wind tunnel results. Increase of cone-flare angle from 25° to 35° results in increase of normal force slope, axial forebody drag, base drag and location of centre of pressure by 62.5%, 56.2% and 33.13%, respectively, from the basic configuration ofthe SRE of 25°.

  • 최근 교과부가 추진하고 있는 2009년 교육과정 개편과 2014년 수능시험 개편안의 내용이 알려지면서 교육계와 학계가 술렁이고 있다. 특히 지리교육의 축소 기도는 우리 지리학과 지리교육을 위기 속으로 몰아놓고 있는 형편이다. 지리학에 대한 홀대는 정책 입안지들의 몰이해에서 비롯된 측면이 매우 강하다. 이에 필자는 우리 학계를 성찰할 수 는 계기를 마련하기 위하여 지리학이 학문으로서 점하고 있는 종요성과 지리교육의 필요성을 재음미해 보았다.

Constructivist Reflection on the Training for Secondary Science Teachers in Korea

  • The enhancement of the quality of the teaching practice is a major factor in securing better schooling opportunities for students. In this article, initial teacher preparation of secondary school Earth science teachers, in-service science teacher education, and improving teacher policy are discussed. Data from in-depth interviews with exemplary science teachers were used to explore how to improve the quality of science teacher education in Korea. In terms of preservice teacher education, most exemplary teachers contended that teacher education programs should provide preservice teachers with practical knowledge by translating theory into practice. Their suggestions for how to improve in-service education are also discussed. Regarding directions of improving teacher policy in Korea, the teachers proposed an alternative teacher-promotion structure that incorporates the master-teacher position. Implications for introducing action research courses into teacher (re)education programs are also discussed.

일반인 및 의료종사자들의 자동제세동기를 이용한 제세동에서 전극부착 위치에 관한 연구: 마네킨을 이용한 연구 (Automated external defibrillator electrode pad placement by the general public and health-care providers : A manikin study)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to assess defibrillator pad positioning by the general public and healthcare providers during basic life support (BLS) renewal education (RE). Methods: A total 130 subjects performed defibrillation using an automated external defibrillator (AED) equipped with electrode pads developed by the researchers and male resuscitation manikins, in order to assess electrode pad placement (EPP) before BLS RE. Subjects included 54 Healthcare providers (HP) and 76 members of the general public (GP). Results: The apex EPP was positioned in the risk area (RA), more than 5 cm distant from the area recommended, by 63.2% of the GP (n = 48). The apex EPP was positioned in the RA by 44.4% of the HP (n = 23). The distance from the apex (GP $5.27{\pm}2.21cm$, HP $4.18{\pm}1.71cm$) was statistically significant, using Student's t-test. Conclusion: For both GP and HP, apex EPP was significantly in error. Thus, to prevent defibrillation failures, EPP education and practice for GP and HP in all BLS education programs should be improved, and incorrect Korean cardiopulmonary resuscitation guidelines and related literature should be revised and corrected.

Superconductivity recovery of vacuum annealed HTS GdBCO CC

  • The superconducting properties of high temperature superconducting (HTS) GdBCO coated conductor (CC) tape (Ag/GdBCO/Buffer-layers/Stainless Steel) were investigated, specifically a series of samples prepared by vacuum heat treatment (200℃ to 600℃), using a Quantum Design PPMS-14. The critical current density Jc value was obtained by applying the modified Bean model to the irreversible magnetization ∆Mirr(H) data which was estimated from the magnetization M(H) loop. The reduction rates of lnJc and Tc values according to the increase of the vacuum annealing temperature Tan were d(lnJc)/dTan = - 0.016 A/(cm2∙℃) and dTc/dTan = - 0.24, respectively. We examined the effect of recovery temperature Tre (475℃ to 700℃) and recovery duration time t (0.5 h to 24 h) on the restoration of previously completely lost superconductivity in samples that subsequently received heat treatment in an O2 gas flow space. All samples were fully restored to superconductivity by heat treatment in an O2 gas flow space. The recovery temperatures Tre (475℃ to 700℃) and recovery duration times t (0.5 h to 24 h) were both independent of the superconductivity recovery characteristics.

교육실습을 통한 예비과학교사의 교수내용지식 분석 (An Analysis of Pre-service Science Teachers' Pedagogical Content Knowledge through the Student-Teacher Practice)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 예비과학교사의 교수내용지식을 분석하는 것이다. 이 연구를 위하여 두 명의 사범대학 4학년생들을 선정하였다. 연구의 자료는 인터뷰, CoRe 질문지, 교육실습기간의 수업관찰기록 등의 질적 연구방법을 통해 수집되었다. 자료 분석은 반복적 비교 분석법에 의하여 이루어졌다. 연구결과, 두 예비과학교사의 교수내용지식 수준은 매우 낮았다. 두 예비과학교사의 교육과정에 대한 지식은 서로 달랐으며, 과학 교수지향은 교육실습 기간 동안의 교수경험 후에 바람직하지 않은 방향으로 변화하였다. 두 예비과학교사의 내용지식은 매우 부족하였으며, 학생 이해에 대한 지식수준도 매우 낮았다.

2단 유성기어 감속기의 후부기어 치형수정에 관한 연구 (Study on Tooth Micro-geometry Optimization of Rear Gear Set in 2 Speed Planetary Gear Reducer)

  • Gear tooth micro-geometry modifications include the intentional removal of material from the gear teeth flanks, so that the shape is no longer a perfect involute. If the gear shapes are perfect, then the gear tooth meshing is better, therefore the gears will transmit input torque in a more efficient manner without the generation of high frequency engine fluctuation noise. In this paper, we study tooth micro-geometry optimization of rear gear set in 2 speed planetary gear reducers. Analysis revealed problems which are need of modification. Based on the results, tooth micro-geometry was used to deal with load distributions on the rear gear set.

국내 위성추락상황실 운영 (Operation of Official Satellite Re-entry Monitoring Room in Korea)

  • 국내에서 위성이나 잔해물이 대기권으로 진입하는 상황을 공식적으로 감시한 것은 1983년 1월 23일에 본체가, 동년 2월 7일에 핵연료 코어가 추락한 구 소비에트 연방의 위성 코스모스 1402호의 상황주시를 위해 구)과학기술처가 구성한 추락상황대책반 운영이 최초이다. 이 후에 2001년 대기권에 재진입한 러시아 우주정거장 미르의 폐기대책반이 구)과학기술부 주관으로 한국천문연구원과 한국항공우주연구원 등 관련기관의 지원으로 운영되었고, 2011년 9월 24일에 있었던 미국의 고층대기기상위성인 UARS (Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite)의 추락이 한국천문연구원에 의해서 분석되었다. 빈번해진 폐기위성 및 우주잔해물의 대기권 재진입 상황에 따라 2011년 10월 14일 구)교육과학기술부와 우주 관련 기관인 한국천문연구원과 한국항공연구원의 관련 전문가 그룹이 대책회의를 거쳐서 위성추락상황실을 한국천문연구원 내에 설치하고 한국천문연구원 주관으로 운영하기로 결정하였다. 그 결과 이 위성추락상황실은 2011년 10월에는 독일 뢴트겐 위성, 2012년 1월에는 러시아 화성 탐사선 포브스 그룬트, 2013년 1월에는 러시아 위성 코스모스 1484, 그리고 2013년 11월에는 유럽연합의 측지위성 고체 (GOCE)의 대기권 재진입을 감시, 자료 분석, 관련기관 보고, 언론 자료 배포 및 대국민 상황 전파를 실시하였다.
