  • In this paper, we proposed an algorithm which used backtracking method to get time information, and it be modelled DMS (Dynamic Multisection) by feature vectors and time information whic are represented to similiar feature in word patterns spoken during continuous time domain, for Korean Speech recognition by independent speaker using DMS. Each state of model is represented time sequence, and have time information and feature vector. Typical feature vector is determined as the feature vector of each state to minimize the distance between word patterns. DDD Area names are selected as recognition wcabulary and 12th LPC cepstrum coefficients are used as the feature parameter. State of model is made 8 multisection and is used 0.2 as weight for time information. Through the experiment result, recognition rate by DMS model is 94.8%, and it is shown that this is better than recognition rate (89.3%) by MSVQ(Multisection Vector Quantization) method.

  • A simple constitutive model for viscoelastic suspensions is discussed in this paper. The model can be used to predict the rheological properties (relative viscosity and all stresses) for viscoelastic suspensions in shear and elongational flow, and the constitutive equations combine a 'viscoelastic' behaviour component and a 'Newtonian' behaviour component. As expected, the model gives a prediction of positive first normal stress difference and negative second normal stress difference; the dimensionless first normal stress difference strongly depends on the shear rate and decreases with the volume fraction of solid phase, but the dimensionless second normal stress difference (in magnitude) is nearly independent of the shear rate and increases with the volume fraction. The relative viscosities and all the stresses have been tested against available experimental measurements.

  • The article applies the ECM - ARDL model to examine the relationship between economic indicators and the existence of the disease in the long run of 10 ASEAN countries from 2000 to 2019. There are two models: The first model investigates the impact of GDP per capita, net inflow FDI, unemployment rate, and inflation rate on the proportion of export to GDP of ASEAN countries, the second model is similar to the first one but adds one more variable to the independent variable list - 'the variable for disease'. The results prove the long-run effect of GDP per capita, FDI, unemployment and inflation rate on export of the selected countries, though individual country shows differences in the sign and magnitude of these impacts. Surprisingly, the number of people suffering from disease does not affect the export of all selected countries as expected. The results of the two models also indicate that the disequilibrium in the short run converges to the equilibrium in the long run with a high proportion, especially in the case of Cambodia and the Philippines, with the rate of 95.65% and 151.94%, respectively. The findings can be useful for policymakers in promulgating efficient policies to enhance the trading activities of the selected countries.

  • This study suggested quantitative models to calculate a royalty rate as an important input factor of the relief from royalty method which has the characteristics of income approach method and market approach method that are generally used in the valuation of intangible assets. This study built a royalty rate regression model by referring to the patent infringement damages cases based on royalties, i.e., by using the royalty rates as a dependent variable and the patent indexes of the corresponding patent right as independent variables. Then, a logistic regression model was constructed by referring to inter-partes review cases of patent rights, i.e. by using not-unpatentable results as a dependent variable and the patent indexes of the corresponding patent right as independent variables. A final royalty rate was calculated by matching the royalty rate from the royalty rate regression model with a not-unpatentable probability from the logistic regression model. The suggested royalty rate was compared with the royalty rate obtained by the traditional methods to check its reliability.

  • The purpose of this paper is to estimate consumer's satisfaction by purchasing farmer's processed food. So, this paper surveyed consumers which have purchased Korean traditional soybean paste products, by reason of limiting research objects among lots of farmer's processed food. A survey of 220 consumers was carried out on September and October 2016. For this matters, this paper used multiple linear regression model(included LOG-LIN model) and, set up 1 dependent and 11 independent variables. As the analysis results, we could find out that consumer's satisfaction was affected by 6 variables(price, taste, ease of cooking, confidence of product information, social awareness and perceived 6th industrialization). Among these variables, the strongest variable was "social awareness", and the second was "perceived 6th industrialization". This paper also estimated the rate of change that a dependent variable was affected by independent variables. As the results, this paper found out that "perceived 6th industrialization" had the highest rate of change(5.8%) and the second was "social awareness"(5.6%). This paper proposed 7 implications of Korean traditional soybean paste. Those were the proper price policy and quality value's promotion, quality Improvement and confidence enhancement, development of products for consumer's convenience, enhancement of social awareness, enhancement of politic management about 6th industrialization and accessibility of purchasing information.

  • In this paper, we present a sentence speech recognizer for twenty questions game. The proposed approaches for speaker-independent sentence speech recognition can be divided into two steps. One is extraction of the number of syllables in eojeol for candidate reduction, and the other is knowledge based language model for sentence recognition. For twenty questions game, we implemented speech recognizer using 956 sentences and 1095 eojeols. The results obtained in our experiments were 87% sentence recognition rate and 90.15% eojeol recognition rate.

  • We discuss how to reduce the number of inverse matrix and its dimensions requested in MLLR framework for speaker adaptation. To find a smaller set of variables with less redundancy, we employ PCA(principal component analysis) and ICA(independent component analysis) that would give as good a representation as possible. The amount of additional computation when PCA or ICA is applied is as small as it can be disregarded. The dimension of HMM parameters is reduced to about 1/3 ~ 2/7 dimensions of SI(speaker independent) model parameter with which speech recognition system represents word recognition rate as much as ordinary MLLR framework. If dimension of SI model parameter is n, the amount of computation of inverse matrix in MLLR is proportioned to O($n^4$). So, compared with ordinary MLLR, the amount of total computation requested in speaker adaptation is reduced to about 1/80~1/150.

  • The concept of MPEG-2 transcoding is related to the scaling the bit rate of the previously encoded MPEG bitstream. We proposed a new rate control algorithm that outperforms existing methods and showed the performance by a computer simulation. A rate-quatization model is developed based on a priori knowledge from the given bitstream at macroblock level. The model is independent of the picture coding type, because it is designed in the DCT domain. To increase the accuracy of the model, the activity measurement is considered. By the simulation, the proposed transcoding showed the better result than that of recoding by TM5. We also concluded that MPEG-2 scalable profile is not suitable for the bit rate conversion application.

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to develop the U-turn accident model at 4-legged signalized intersections in urban areas. METHODS : In order to analyze the characteristics of the accidents which are associated with U-turn operation at 4-legged signalized intersections in urban areas and develop an U-turn accident model by regression analysis, the tests of overdispersion and zero-inflation are conducted about the dependent variables of number of accidents and EPDO (Equivalent Property Damage Only). RESULTS : As their results, the Poisson model fits best for number of accident and the ZIP (Zero Inflated Poisson) fits best for EPOD, the variables of conflict traffic, width of opposing road, traffic passing speed are adopted as independent variable for both models. The variables of number of bus berths and rate of U-turn signal time at which the U-turn is permitted are adopted as independent variable only for EPDO. CONCLUSIONS : These study results suggest that U-turn would be permitted at the intersection where the width of opposing road is wider than 11.9 meters, the passing vehicle speed is not high and U-turn operation is not hindered by the buses stopping at bus stops.

  • The paper aims to investigate the impacts of long-term savings motives on fostering household participation and contribution to savings mechanisms in rural Vietnam. The paper is organized in five parts: introduction, data description, methodology, empirical results, and conclusion. The quantitative methodology is employed and three simultaneous estimation methods, including instrumental variable model, two-step model, and Heckman model are used to test these impacts as well as the robustness of results. In each model, the paper examines the impacts of independent factors on both household participation and household contribution to savings mechanisms. Two sets of independent variables: long-term savings motives (profit-making investment, accumulation for big expenditure, providing for old age, and cost of educations) and control variables (dependency rate, number of people in household, and household wealth) are in each model. A set of dataset of 2,314 households for analysis is obtained from household survey in rural Vietnam. Robust statistical findings indicate that profit-making investment emerged to be the strongest motive fostering household participation to savings mechanisms while other long-term savings motives have little or no impact on fostering household participation to savings mechanisms. In addition, education investment encourages household contribution to savings mechanisms in rural Vietnam.
