정극 조성에 따른 PLI bicell의 임피던스 및 전지 특성 (Impedance and battery characteristics of PLI bicell with different cathode composition)

  • We have examined the impedance characteristics and the battery characteristics of PLI bicell. As results, the impedance of PLI bicell with 62 wt% cathode active material were lower than the other cathode active material content. And the specific resistances of PLI bicell increased with N/P ratio until 1.85. And the impedance of PLI bicell decreased with increased adding amounts of binder. But the rate capability of PLI bicell were not increased with increased adding amounts of binder. PLI bicell with 9.9 wt% binder content were the best rate capability. but the cycleability were not the same results as the rate capability. PLI bicells with cathode with more than 11 wt% binder, their cycleability were almost same, nevertheless they were better cycleability than 9.9 wt% binderl content.

Effect of Manganese Vanadate Formed on the Surface of Spinel Lithium Manganese Oxide Cathode on High Temperature Cycle Life Performance

  • Rate capability and cyclability of $LiMn_2O_4$ should be improved in order to use it as a cathode material of lithium-ion batteries for hybrid-electric-vehicles (HEV). To enhance the rate capability and cyclability of $LiMn_2O_4$, it was coated with $MnV_2O_6$ by a sol-gel method. A $V_2O_5$ sol was prepared by a melt-quenching method and the $LiMn_2O_4$ coated with the sol was heat-treated to obtain the $MnV_2O_6$ coating layer. Crystal structure and morphology of the samples were examined by X-ray diffraction, SEM and TEM. The electrochemical performances, including cyclability at $60^{\circ}C$, and rate capability of the bare and the coated $LiMn_2O_4$ were measured and compared. Overall, $MnV_2O_6$ coating on $LiMn_2O_4$ improves the cyclability at high temperature and rate capability at room temperature at the cost of discharge capacity. The improvement in cyclability at high temperature and the enhanced rate capability is believed to come from the reduced contact between the electrode, and electrolyte and higher electric conductivity of the coating layer. However, a dramatic decrease in discharge capacity would make it impractical to increase the coating amount above 3 wt %.

Polarization Behavior of Li4Ti5O12 Negative Electrode for Lithiumion Batteries

  • $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ is prepared through a solid-state reaction between $Li_2CO_3$ and anatase $TiO_2$ for applications in lithium-ion batteries. The rate capability is measured and the electrode polarization is analyzed through the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT). The rate characteristics and electrode polarization are highly sensitive to the amount of carbon loading. Polarization of the $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ electrode continuously increases as the reaction proceeds in both the charge and discharge processes. This relation indicates that both electron conduction and lithium diffusion are significant factors in the polarization of the electrode. The transition metal (Cu, Ni, Fe) ion added during the synthesis of $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ for improving the electrical conductivity also greatly enhances the rate capability.

A simulative method for evaluating the resistance of the flight deck's operational capability to the attack of anti-ship weapons

  • The flight deck of an aircraft carrier is relatively vulnerable compared to its hull, as the damage of some subsystems on the flight deck may cause the carrier losing its operational capability. Therefore, this work aims to represent a simulative method for evaluating the resistance of the flight deck's operational capability in the condition that the aircraft carrier is together with its strike group and the enemy uses the anti-ship missiles with the cluster warheads to attack. In the simulations, the susceptibility of the carrier and the vulnerability of the aircraft guarantee resources are gained. Then, with the help of the closed queuing network, the residual sortie generation rate can be solved, which reflects the flight deck's residual operational capability. The results have proven that the flight deck is of strong resistance to these attacks while it is very sensitive to the loss of some key aircraft guarantee resources.

고출력 리튬이온 이차전지 음극재용 피치/코크스/천연흑연 복합재의 제조 및 전기화학적 특성평가 (Fabrication and Characterization of Pitch/Cokes/Natural Graphite Composites as Anode Materials for High-Power Lithium Secondary Batteries)

  • In order to prepare anode materials for high power lithium ion secondary batteries, carbon composites were fabricated with a mixture of petroleum pitch and coke (PC) and a mixture of petroleum pitch, coke, and natural graphite (PC-NG). Although natural graphite has a good reversible capacity, it has disadvaantages of a sharp decrease in capacity during high rate charging and potential plateaus. This may cause difficulties in perceiving the capacity variations as a function of electrical potential. The coke anodes have advantages without potential plateaus and a high rate capability, but they have a low reversible capacity. With PC anode composites, the petroleum pitch/cokes mixture at 1:4 with heat treatment at $1000^{\circ}C$ (PC14-1000C) showed relatively high electrochemical properties. With PC-NG anode composites, the proper graphite contents were determined at 10~30 wt.%. The composites with a given content of natural graphite and remaining content of various petroleum pitch/cokes mixtures at 1:4~4:1 mass ratios were heated at $800{\sim}1200^{\circ}C$. By increasing the content of petroleum pitch, reversible capacity increased, but a high rate capability decreased. For a given composition of carbonaceous composite, the discharge rate capability improved but the reversible capacity decreased with an increase in heat treatment temperature. The carbonaceous composites fabricated with a mixture of 30 wt.% natural graphite and 70 wt.% petroleum pitch/cokes mixture at 1:4 mass ratio and heat treated at $1000^{\circ}C$ showed relatively high electrochemical properties, of which the reversible capacity, initial efficiency, discharge rate capability (retention of discharge capacity in 10 C/0.2 C), and charge capacity at 5 C were 330 mAh/g, 79 %, 80 %, and 60 mAh/g, respectively.

  • PVDC-resin transforms into porous carbon through the removal of heteroatoms during heat treatment. When PVDC-resin mixed with chemical agent undergoes heat treatment, it transforms into porous carbon with a significant surface area. In this study, we aim to produce porous carbon using PVDC-resin as a precursor by mixing it with an inexpensive CuO agent in various ratios (1:1, 1:2) and varying the process temperatures (750℃, 950℃). To utilize the developed porous carbon as electrode for supercapacitors, this study explored the formation of micropores and mesopores during the activation process. The porous characteristics and specific surface area of the synthesized porous carbon were estimated using N2 isotherm. The specific capacitance and rate capability required for supercapacitor electrodes were evaluated through cyclic voltammetry. Experimental results demonstrated that when the precursor and agent were mixed in a 1:2 ratio, a high surface areal carbon with numerous micropores and mesopores was obtained. When the activation was performed at 950℃, no impurities remained from the agent, resulting in high rate performance. The porous carbon synthesized using PVDC-resin and CuO demonstrated high specific surface area and excellent rate capability, indicating its potential as an electrode material for supercapacitors.

  • A recently reported simple phenomenological constitutive model (SK) demonstrated comparable or better data description capability to/than one of the rigorous and physics-based models, the PTW model. The simple SK model is believed to be an efficient model for practical applications where an extensive computation is needed, and can serve as a rigorous comparison standard for the development of a physics-based model.

  • In this paper, we calculate the premium rate of reliability insurance policy for brake pads for automobiles using real failure data obtained from use-condition. We try process capability analysis for the manufacturing process of brake-system. We describe the performance factors which have an effect on failure characteristics of brake pads. We also obtain the maximum likelihood estimates of shape and scale parameters of the fitted Weibull distribution for brake pads.

연구소기업의 역량과 매출성장 간의 관계에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on the Relationship between the Capabilities and Sales Growth of Research-based Spin-off Companies)

  • 본 연구는 공공연구성과의 직접 사업화를 촉진하기 위해 연구개발특구에 설립하는 연구소기업을 분석대상으로 한다. 기술기반의 신생벤처기업이 대부분인 175개의 연구소기업을 대상으로 기업의 역량이 기업성과인 매출성장률에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석하였다. 분석결과는 연구소기업의 역량 중에서 기술역량과 기업가역량이 매출성장률에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 반면, 네트워크역량과 재무역량은 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 조절효과분석에서는 연구개발집중도(종업원 1인당 연구개발비)가 기술역량과 기업가역량이 매출성장률에 미치는 영향을 강화하고, 반대로 네트워크역량이 매출성장률에 미치는 영향은 약화시키는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 기술기반의 초기기업인 연구소기업에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히고 기업의 역량에 대한 중요성을 환기시키는 점에서 의의가 있다. 기존 연구와 달리 초기창업기업을 대상으로 한 연구에서 객관적이고 정량적인 데이터를 활용하여 기업의 역량과 성과 간의 관계를 보다 타당성있게 조명함으로써 기술혁신 관련 문헌에 기여한다. 또한, 연구소기업의 조기성장을 위한 전략적 지원에 대한 함의와 향후 추가적인 연구를 위한 기회를 제공한다. 즉, 정책적 차원에서 한정된 예산 및 행정자원과 육성지원 정책을 초기 연구소기업들의 기술역량과 기업가역량을 높이는 방향으로 집중할 필요가 있다. 아울러, 연구소기업의 맞춤형 지원 정책개발을 위해서 성장 단계에 따라 서로 다른 역량들의 상대적 중요도가 어떻게 달라지는지 후속 연구들이 필요할 것이다.

장비운영요소변화에 따른 석재측면 성형공구의 성능시험 연구 (A study on the capability of edge shape milling tool with the operatio parameters of equipment)

  • 석판재의 모서리 가공작업은 많은 경우 자동화가 이루어지고 있지만 제품의 형태 가 복잡해지면 여전히 수작업에 의해 연마가 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문을 성형공구의 제작 에 앞서 성형공구의 특성과 장비의 운영요소들의 변화에 따른 연마절삭성능을 파악하기 위 한 기본시험이 수행결과를 나타내는 것이다. 장비의 운영요소는 헤드의 회전속도 및 이송속 도, 가압하중, 급수율, 절삭방향과 이송방향이 포함된다. 실험결과는 연마절삭성능 즉 공구 마모 무게에 대한 판재의 절삭량으로 표시하였고, 각 운영요소들 마다의 적정 운영수준이 제시되어 있다. 또한 연마재 투입략의 변화에 대한 마모시험에서는 마모도는 연마재의 증가 에 따라 증가하지만 어느 이상의 양에서는 오히려 감소하고 있다.
