도플러 레이더를 이용한 비접촉 방식의 심박 및 호흡 검출에 관한 연구 (A Study of Noncontact Heartbeat and Respiration Detection Using the Doppler Radar)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존의 접촉식 센서를 이용한 생체신호 측정이 아닌 비접촉 방식으로 심박과 호흡을 추출하기 위해 2.4GHz 대역에서 동작하는 도플러 레이더 센서와 베이스 밴드 모듈로 구성된 도플러 레이더 시스템을 설계하고 그 성능을 평가하였다. 설계된 도플러 레이더 시스템은 인체표면의 변위변화에 의해 반사되는 위상변화를 이용하여 심폐 활동을 검출할 수 있다. 도플러 레이더 센서의 I/Q 채널에서 획득한 신호는 베이스 밴드 모듈의 전처리 필터부, 증폭부, 옵셋조정부를 통과하여 호흡과 심박 신호로 분리된다. 도플러 레이더 시스템으로부터 측정된 생체신호와 기존의 생체신호 간의 상관성을 확인하기 위해 호흡과 심박 대역이 각각 다른 쥐, 토끼, 사람을 대상으로 측정하여 그 결과를 비교하였다. 설계된 도플러 레이더 시스템에서 분리된 호흡 및 심박 신호는 측정 대상의 움직임이 없는 상태에서는 높은 검출률을 보였으며, 도플러 레이더에서 심박과 호흡 신호를 검출한 결과 거리, 호흡과 심박의 변이량, 호흡과 심박대역에 따라 검출률이 영향을 받는다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • A low-power design technique for lithium-ion Battery-Protection Integrated Circuit (BPIC) for multi cell configuration is proposed. The hardware sharing scheme with more precisely divided operating states in the detection range could reduce the power consumption significantly, especially during the normal state. The usefulness of the proposed scheme was confirmed through HSPICE simulations.

상용변압기와 결합된 초전도체 및 상전도체 한류기의 고장전류 및 보호기기 동작특성 (Characteristics of the Fault Current and the Protection for Superconducting and Normal Conducting Limiter combined with a Transformer)

  • With increasing demand of power, the equipment of power system is enlarging and the absolute capacity is going up. As a result, when a fault occurs, the fault current is consistently increasing. Therefore, I suggested some solution for limiting the fault current more efficiently. This study shows the characteristics of superconducting limiting elements and normal conducting elements combined with a transformer. We performed a short-circuit test about the fault current by using SCR switching control system operated from a CT. When short circuit accidents happened in the secondary side of a transformer, fault currents flowed and a SCR switching control system was operated. It resulted in a decrease of the fault current in the limited elements of third winding connected in parallel. For this test, we used YBCO thin films and normal conducting elements as the limited elements. Within a cycle, a superconducting fault current limiter with YBCO thin films reduced more than 90% of fault current because the resistance of superconducting elements sustainedly grew. On the other hand, the limiter with normal conductors limited as much as a set value because its resistance characteristic was linear. Consequently, in case of the limiter with superconductor, limiting range of the circuit was wide but the range of protective detection was undefined. In contrast, as for the limiter with normal conductors, limiting range and protection duty were appropriate.

영구 자석형 스텝모터의 위치 검출 (A position Detector of Permanent Magnet Step Motors)

  • A position detection method for 2 phase bifilar permanent magnet step motors is proposed. The back emfgenerated on 2 phase windings by rotor permanent magnet is calculated using motor terminal voltage and current by analog circuit, and the rotor position output is obtained from tese back emf signals through some logical manipulation circuit. This position detector functionally acts like a 2 channel optical incremental encoder, and it is also shown by experimental results that it works well over wide range of speed or under resonant condition where the rotor rings around the detent position. Its resolution is twice of the number of steps per revolution. Bu software implemented on micro-processor, the reliability of position output is enhanced, detecting and correcting error dut to external and/ or internal noise.

Performance Study of Defected Ground Structure Patch Antenna with Etched psi (ψ) Shaped Stubs

  • In this article, a novel design of patch antenna with wide band characteristics is presented. The proposed antenna is having electrical dimensions of $0.14{\lambda}{\times}0.11{\lambda}$ (at lower initial frequency) and footprints of $150mm^2$. Structural parameters optimization shows 3.1-23.5 GHz frequency range for a (reflection coefficient) $S_{11}{\leq}-10dB$ and simulated gain 6.8 dB is obtained. An equivalent circuit model is proposed to get an insight view of antenna. Advanced Systems Design (ADS) simulation results are obtain which confirm the validity of proposed model. Degenerated foster canonical form has been used to explain the reactance and capacitive behavior idea of simulated proposed antenna's input impedance later on an equivalent circuit model and smith chart is also suggested. HFSS and CST have been used to analyze antenna behavior. The proposed antenna can be further used for microwave image detection applications.

3-5 GHz 대역 중심 주파수 변환이 가능한 프로그래머블 임펄스 래디오 송신기 (A 3-5GHz frequency band Programmable Impulse Radio UWB Transmitter)

  • 이 논문은 3~5 GHz의 동작 주파수 대역을 지닌 임펄스 래디오 저전력 거리탐지용 송신기 설계에 관한 연구이다. 제안하는 송신기는 $0.13{\mu}m$ CMOS 공정을 이용하여 모든 부분을 간단한 디지털 로직으로 설계함으로써 회로 구현의 복잡도를 줄이고 낮은 전력 소모를 지닌다. 특히, UWB의 낮은 대역에서 기존의 무선 통신과의 간섭을 회피하기 위하여 중심 주파수 조절이 가능하도록 전압으로 지연 시간을 조절할 수 있는 지연 회로를 통해 주파수 변환을 적용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 송신기는 1.2 V 공급 전압으로부터 10pJ/b 만의 에너지를 소모하며, 모의 실험 결과 3~5 GHz UWB 대역에서 3.3 GHz에서 4.3 GHz까지 중심 주파수 조절이 가능하며, 출력 파워는 최대 -51 dBm/MHz를 지니며, FCC 규제를 만족한다.

고분해능 FMCW LiDAR 센서 구성을 위한 광대역 주파수변조 레이저 개발 (Development of Wideband Frequency Modulated Laser for High Resolution FMCW LiDAR Sensor)

  • 본 논문은 눈, 비, 안개 등 열악한 운용환경에도 강건한 표적검출 특성을 가지는 FMCW LiDAR에 대해서 기술하고 있다. 특히 FMCW LiDAR의 거리 해상도, 가간섭거리 및 최대측정거리 성능에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 주파수변조레이저의 성능개선에 대해 기술하고 있다. 불평형 Mach-Zehnder 레이저간섭계를 활용하여, 레이저의 발진주파수의 변화율을 실시간 측정하고, 주파수변조 오차를 보정하는 광학식 위상동기루프 기술을 이용한 주파수변조 방법에 대해 기술하였다. 가간섭거리가 긴 레이저 광원을 발진하기 위해 확장공진기형 레이저다이오드를 적용하였으며, 레이저에서 발진되는 주파수 측정을 위해 광집적회로 구조의 레이저간섭계를 적용하였다. 개발된 FMCW LiDAR의 대역폭과 거리해상도는 각각 10.045GHz와 0.84mm로 측정되었다.

Early Detection of Peripheral Intravenous Infiltration Using Segmental Bioelectrical Impedance: Preliminary Study

  • Early detection of infiltration is one of the most important tasks of nurses to minimize skin damage due to infiltration. For subjects receiving invasive intravenous treatment, the bioelectrical impedance (impedance) were measured in the frequency range of 5 to 500 kHz using bioelectrical impedance spectroscopy (BIS). After attaching electrodes at both ends of a transparent dressing mounted on the skin in which IV solution was infused into the vein, the change in impedance was measured as a function of time and frequency before and after infiltration. The experimental results are described as follows. When IV solution was properly infused into the vein, the impedance was nearly constant over time and decreased with increasing frequency. However, when infiltration occurred, the impedance decreased significantly and thereafter gradually decreased with time. In addition, impedance decreased with time for all applied frequencies. In this study, when IV solution penetrated into the surrounding skin and subcutaneous tissue by infiltration, impedance was quantitatively analyzed for as a function of time and frequency. This suggests a method for early detection of infiltration using BIS.

Microphone Array를 이용한 고압설비의 고장위치인식 알고리즘 (An Accidental Position Detection Algorithm for High-Pressure Equipment using Microphone Array)

  • This study receives the noise transmitted in a constant audio frequency range through a microphone array in which the noise(like grease in a pan) occurs on the power supply line due to the troublesome partial discharge(arc). Then by going through a series of signal processing of removing noise, this study measures the distance and direction up to the noise caused by the troublesome partial discharge(arc) and monitors the result by displaying in the analog and digital method. After these, it determines the state of each size and judges the distance and direction of problematic part. When the signal sound transmitted by the signal source of bad insulator is received on each microphone, the signal comes only in the frequency range of 20 kHz by passing through the circuit of amplification and 6th low pass filter. Then, this signal is entered in a digital value of digital signal processing(TMS320F2812) through the 16-bit A/D conversion. By doing so, the sound distance, direction and coordinate of bad insulator can be detected by realizing the correlation method of detecting the arriving time difference occurring on each microphone and the algorithm of detecting maximum time difference.

스핀코팅법으로 제작한 산화구리 박막의 일산화질소 가스 감지 특성 (Nitrogen Monoxide Gas Sensing Properties of Copper Oxide Thin Films Fabricated by a Spin Coating Method)

  • We present the detection characteristics of nitrogen monoxide(NO) gas using p-type copper oxide(CuO) thin film gas sensors. The CuO thin films were fabricated on glass substrates by a sol-gel spin coating method using copper acetate hydrate and diethanolamine as precursors. Structural characterizations revealed that we prepared the pure CuO thin films having a monoclinic crystalline structure without any obvious formation of secondary phase. It was found from the NO gas sensing measurements that the p-type CuO thin film gas sensors exhibited a maximum sensitivity to NO gas in dry air at an operating temperature as low as $100^{\circ}C$. Additionally, these CuO thin film gas sensors were found to show reversible and reliable electrical response to NO gas in a range of operating temperatures from $60^{\circ}C$ to $200^{\circ}C$. It is supposed from these results that the p-type oxide semiconductor CuO thin film could have significant potential for use in future gas sensors and other oxide electronics applications using oxide p-n heterojunction structures.
