A nonlinear numerical method was developed to assess the stability of suspension bridge catwalks under a wind load. A section model wind tunnel test was used to obtain a catwalk's aerostatic coefficients, from which the displacement-dependent wind loads were subsequently derived. The stability of a suspension bridge catwalk was analyzed on the basis of the geometric nonlinear behavior of the structure. In addition, a full model test was conducted on the catwalk, which spanned 960 m. A comparison of the displacement values between the test and the numerical simulation shows that a numerical method based on a section model test can be used to effectively and accurately evaluate the stability of a catwalk. A case study features the stability of the catwalk of the Runyang Yangtze suspension bridge, the main span of which is 1490 m. Wind can generally attack the structure from any direction. Whenever the wind comes at a yaw angle, there are six wind load components that act on the catwalk. If the yaw angle is equal to zero, the wind is normal to the catwalk (called normal wind) and the six load components are reduced to three components. Three aerostatic coefficients of the catwalk can be obtained through a section model test with traditional test equipment. However, six aerostatic coefficients of the catwalk must be acquired with the aid of special section model test equipment. A nonlinear numerical method was used study the stability of a catwalk under a yaw wind, while taking into account the six components of the displacement-dependent wind load and the geometric nonlinearity of the catwalk. The results show that when wind attacks with a slight yaw angle, the critical velocity that induces static instability of the catwalk may be lower than the critical velocity of normal wind. However, as the yaw angle of the wind becomes larger, the critical velocity increases. In the atmospheric boundary layer, the wind is turbulent and the velocity history is a random time history. The effects of turbulent wind on the stability of a catwalk are also assessed. The wind velocity fields are regarded as stationary Gaussian stochastic processes, which can be simulated by a spectral representation method. A nonlinear finite-element model set forepart and the Newmark integration method was used to calculate the wind-induced buffeting responses. The results confirm that the turbulent character of wind has little influence on the stability of the catwalk.
As the use of trading systems has increased rapidly, many researchers have become interested in developing effective stock market prediction models using artificial intelligence techniques. Stock market prediction involves multifaceted interactions between market-controlling factors and unknown random processes. A successful stock prediction model achieves the most accurate result from minimum input data with the least complex model. In this research, we develop a combination model of ${\pi}$-fuzzy logic and support vector machine (SVM) models, using a genetic algorithm to optimize the parameters of the SVM and ${\pi}$-fuzzy functions, as well as feature subset selection to improve the performance of stock market prediction. To evaluate the performance of our proposed model, we compare the performance of our model to other comparative models, including the logistic regression, multiple discriminant analysis, classification and regression tree, artificial neural network, SVM, and fuzzy SVM models, with the same data. The results show that our model outperforms all other comparative models in prediction accuracy as well as return on investment.
As random access memory chip gets cheaper, it becomes affordable to realize main memory-based database systems. Consequently, reducing cache misses emerges as the most important issue in current main memory databases, in which CPU speeds have been increasing at 60% per year, compared to the memory speeds at 10% per you. In this paper, we design and implement a main-memory database system for real-time mobile GIS. Our system is composed of 5 modules: the interface manager provides the interface for PDA users; the memory data manager controls spatial and non-spatial data in main-memory using virtual memory techniques; the query manager processes spatial and non-spatial query : the index manager manages the MR-tree index for spatial data and the T-tree index for non-spatial index : the GIS server interface provides the interface with disk-based GIS. The MR-tree proposed propagates node splits upward only if one of the internal nodes on the insertion path has empty space. Thus, the internal nodes of the MR-tree are almost 100% full. Our experimental study shows that the two-dimensional MR-tree performs search up to 2.4 times faster than the ordinary R-tree. To use virtual memory techniques, the memory data manager uses page tables for spatial data, non- spatial data, T-tree and MR-tree. And, it uses indirect addressing techniques for fast reloading from disk.

In case of using the existing encrypted algorithm for massive data encryption service under the cloud environment, the problem that requires much time in data encryption come to the fore. To make up for this weakness, a partial encryption method is used generally. However, the existing partial encryption method has a disadvantage that the encrypted data can be inferred due to the remaining area that is not encrypted. This study proposes a partial encryption method of increasing the encryption speed and complying with the security standard in order to solve this demerit. The proposed method consists of 3 processes such as header formation, partial encryption and block shuffle. In step 1 Header formation process, header data necessary for the algorithm are generated. In step 2 Partial encryption process, a part of data is encrypted, using LEA (Lightweight Encryption Algorithm), and all data are transformed with XOR of data in the unencrypted part and the block generated in the encryption process. In step 3 Block shuffle process, the blocks are mixed, using the shuffle data stored with the random arrangement form in the header to carry out encryption by transforming the data into an unrecognizable form. As a result of the implementation of the proposed method, applying it to a mobile device, all the encrypted data were transformed into an unrecognizable form, so the data could not be inferred, and the data could not be restored without the encryption key. It was confirmed that the proposed method could make prompt treatment possible in encrypting mass data since the encryption speed is improved by approximately 273% or so compared to LEA which is Lightweight Encryption Algorithm.

Because of the development of Smart phone devices, the demands of high performance FPU(Floating-point Unit) becomes increasing. Therefore, we propose the high-speed single-/double-precision FPU design that includes an elementary add/sub unit and improved multiplier and compare and convert units. The most commonly used add/sub unit is optimized by the parallel rounding unit. The matrix operation is used in complex calculation something like a graphic calculation. We designed the Multiply-Add Fused(MAF) instead of multiplier to calculate the matrix more quickly. The branch instruction that is decided by the compare operation is very frequently used in various programs. We bypassed the result of the compare operation before all the pipeline processes ended to decrease the total execution time. And we included additional convert operations that are added in IEEE754-2008 standard. To verify our RTL designs, we chose four hundred thousand test vectors by weighted random method and simulated each unit. The FPU that was synthesized by Samsung's 45-nm low-power process satisfied the 600-MHz operation frequency. And we confirm a reduction in area by comparing the improved FPU with the existing FPU.
The author transplanted periodontally-diseased teeth which had been treated with citric acid into a clinically healthy extraction sockets and periodontally-affected extraction sockets, and compared with the healing processes within these tissues. Recipient sites were prepared by surgically removing a part of alveolar bone of premolars of adults dogs, placing elastic orthodontic ligatures for 8weeks, thereby inducing periodontal disease. The diseased roots were extracted and transplanted into healthy extraction sockets, and these were designated as control group 1. Diseased roots transplanted into diseased sockets were designated as control group 2. Diseased roots which had been root planed, treated with citric acid and transplanted into healthy sockets were designated as experimental group 1, while identically treated roots which had been transplanted into diseased sockets were designated as experimental group 2. Observations were made at weeks 2, 8 and 12, with following results. 1. At week 2, experimental group 2 showed some inflammatory cell infiltration in the connective tissue above the extraction sockets, while control groups showed less inflammatory or foreign body reactions throughout the experiment. 2. In both control groups, root surface resorption was observed throughout the experiment, while experimental groups showed a little resorption. 3. Control group 1 & 2 showed ankylosis by newly-formed bone ground the resorbed root surfaces, while experimental group 1 & 2 displayed collagen fibers which are not functionally-arranged, with random, loose arrangement or parallel orientation to root surfaces, and newly-formed bone outside of them. 4. In both control groups & experimental groups which had been transplanted into a clinically healthy extraction sockets & periodontally affected extraction sockets groups, histological differences were not significant. 5. Root resorption or ankylosis in control group 1 & 2 had increased quantitatively as experiment progressed. 6. New bone formation developed from the base and lateral wall of extraction sockets. In both control groups & experimental groups, root surfaces lying next to the upper portion of extraction sockets showed little alveolar bone formation and surrounded by connective tissue fiber at weeks 2 & 8, while at weeks 12, they did show alveolar bone formation. 7. At week 12, experimental group 2 showed numerous cells which appeared to be periodontal ligament cells, with functionally arranged connective tissue fibers between the roots and alveolar bone.

Ruthenium (Ru) has attractive material properties due to its promising characteristics such as a low resistivity ($7.1{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ in the bulk), a high work function of 4.7 eV, and feasibility for the dry etch process. These properties make Ru films appropriate for various applications in the state-of-art semiconductor device technologies. Thus, it has been widely investigated as an electrode for capacitor in the dynamic random access memory (DRAM), a metal gate for metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET), and a seed layer for Cu metallization. Due to the continuous shrinkage of microelectronic devices, better deposition processes for Ru thin films are critically required with excellent step coverages in high aspect ratio (AR) structures. In these respects, atomic layer deposition (ALD) is a viable solution for preparing Ru thin films because it enables atomic-scale control of the film thickness with excellent conformality. A recent investigation reported that the nucleation of ALD-Ru film was enhanced considerably by using a zero-valent metallorganic precursor, compared to the utilization of precursors with higher metal valences. In this study, we will present our research results on the synthesis and characterization of novel ruthenium complexes. The ruthenium compounds were easy synthesized by the reaction of ruthenium halide with appropriate organic ligands in protic solvent, and characterized by NMR, elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. The molecular structures of the complexes were studied by single crystal diffraction. ALD of Ru film was demonstrated using the new Ru metallorganic precursor and O2 as the Ru source and reactant, respectively, at the deposition temperatures of $300-350^{\circ}C$. Self-limited reaction behavior was observed as increasing Ru precursor and O2 pulse time, suggesting that newly developed Ru precursor is applicable for ALD process. Detailed discussions on the chemical and structural properties of Ru thin films as well as its growth behavior using new Ru precursor will be also presented.
Community-based Question Answering system is a system which provides answers for each question from the documents uploaded on web communities. In order to enhance the capacity of question analysis, former methods have developed specific rules suitable for a target region or have applied machine learning to partial processes. However, these methods incur an excessive cost for expanding fields or lead to cases in which system is overfitted for a specific field. This paper proposes a multiple machine learning method which automates the overall process by adapting appropriate machine learning in each procedure for efficient processing of community-based Question Answering system. This system can be divided into question analysis part and answer selection part. The question analysis part consists of the question focus extractor, which analyzes the focused phrases in questions and uses conditional random fields, and the question type classifier, which classifies topics of questions and uses support vector machine. In the answer selection part, the we trains weights that are used by the similarity estimation models through an artificial neural network. Also these are a number of cases in which the results of morphological analysis are not reliable for the data uploaded on web communities. Therefore, we suggest a method that minimizes the impact of morphological analysis by using character features in the stage of question analysis. The proposed system outperforms the former system by showing a Mean Average Precision criteria of 0.765 and R-Precision criteria of 0.872.

The objectives of this study were conducted to characterize pepsin-soluble collagen (PSC) extracted from bones (PSC-B), skins (PSC-S), and tendons (PSC-T) of duck feet and to determine their thermal and structural properties, for better practical application of each part of duck feet as a novel source for collagen. PSC was extracted from each part of duck feet by using 0.5 M acetic acid containing 5% (w/w) pepsin. Electrophoretic patterns showed that the ratio between α1 and α2 chains, which are subunit polypeptides forming collagen triple helix, was approximately 1:1 in all PSCs of duck feet. PSC-B had slightly higher molecular weights for α1 and α2 chains than PSC-S and PSC-T. From the results of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), higher onset (beginning point of melting) and peak temperatures (maximum point of curve) were found at PSC-B compared to PSC-S and PSC-T (p<0.05). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) presented that PSC-S and PSC-T had similar intermolecular structures and chemical bonds, whereas PSC-B exhibited slight difference in amide A region. Irregular dense sheet-like films linked by random-coiled filaments were observed similarly. Our findings indicate that PSCs of duck feet might be characterized similarly as a mixture of collagen type I and II and suggest that duck feet could be used for collagen extraction without deboning and/or separation processes.

A stochastic process has been used to develop a condition-based model for preventive maintenance of armor units of rubble-mound breakwaters that can make a decision the optimal interval at which some repair actions should be performed under the perfect maintenance. The proposed cost model in this paper based on renewal reward process can take account of the interest rate, also consider the unplanned maintenance cost which has been treated like a constant in the previous studies to be a time-dependent random variable. A function for the unplanned maintenance cost has been mathematically proposed so that the cumulative damage, serviceability limit and importance of structure can be taken into account, by which a age-based maintenance can be extended to a condition-based maintenance straightforwardly. The coefficients involved in the function can also be properly estimated using a method expressed in this paper. Two stochastic processes, Wiener process and gamma process have been applied to armor stones of rubble-mound breakwaters. By evaluating the expected total cost rate as a function of time for various serviceability limits, interest rates and importances of structure, the optimal period of preventive maintenance can easily determined through the minimization of the expected total cost rate. For a fixed serviceability limit, it shows that the optimal period has been delayed while the interest rate increases, so that the expected total cost rate has become lower. In addition, the gamma process tends to estimate the optimal period more conservatively than the Wiener process. Finally, it is found that the more crucial the level of importance of structure becomes, the more often preventive maintenances should be carried out.
