철도차량 유지보수 훈련용 추진제어장치 시뮬레이터 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Propulsion Control Simulator for Maintenance Training of Railway Vehicle)

  • This paper designed the railway vehicle running device with a proto-type for the railway vehicle maintenance training and developed a propulsion control device simulator equipped the imitation steering wheel. In addition, this paper applied a multi-thread technology in order to implement the staged fault and the propulsion control device protected operation test and an implementation of the failure that occur in actual rail vehicle and confirm the validity as the propulsion control device simulator for the maintenance training.

FMECA를 통한 전차선로 가선시스템의 신뢰도 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Reliability Analysis of Electric Railway Catenary System using FMECA)

  • The reliability of catenary system is very important for uninterrupted train operation as it supplies electric power to train without redundant facilities. This paper provides a systematic approach to the reliability analysis of the catenary system based on FMECA procedures defined by global standards such as MIL Std 1692a and IEC 60812. Field failure data collected from the operation and maintenance of high-speed railway catenary system for 9 years are used to derive critical failure modes and to evaluate the criticality of the failure modes. Evaluation of the criticality are carried out by quantitative procedures defined by MIL Std 1692a and by criticality matrix defined by IEC 60812. FMECA results suggests that three critical failure modes should be checked carefully during maintenance work, which include strand break of dropper and voltage equalizing wire, power supply failure of feeder. Maintenance procedure of catenary system in order of importance is suggested too. These results can be applied to maintenance planning and design of catenary system to improve the reliability of electric railway system.

한국고속철도를 위한 차량운용 및 할당시스템 (KTX Trainset Maintenance Routing and Allocation System for Korea High-Speed Rail)

  • In this paper we present a model for the maintenance routing construction and the trainset allocation (maintenance routing problem). The model solves the maintenance routing problem using column generation algorithm which was used to combine constraint programming and linear programming. Ilog-cplex was used to solve the linear programming model and Ilog-solver was used to solve the constraint programming model. The computational experience is also provided.

  • Life cycle costing is one of the most effective cost approaches when we choose a solution from series of alternative so the least long-term cost ownership is achieved. Life cycle costing in railway industry has been focused on the prediction of investment for railway vehicles. But in today, the life cycle cost, LCC, prediction on the aspect of operation and maintenance cost through whole life cycle is highly necessary. In this paper, we present a strategy for the development of life cycle cost estimation software on the aspect of maintenance strategies of railway vehicle. For this purpose, we suggested a structure of LCC software based on the UNIFE LCC model. And we developed a pilot version of software to evaluate the LCC model that we suggested for railway vehicle. We performed LCC analysis on the brake module of metro vehicle in case study and concluded that the software and model developed in this research could enough to support engineers in choosing better cost effective solutions from many alternatives.

  • The gravel ballast in the ballasted track has the function to not only transfer/scatter the train loads to subgrade through rail and sleeper but also elastically support the train loads. Because track irregularities results inevitably from the repetitive train loads, the track maintenance should be undertaken for correcting them. By analyzing the track maintenance history in the Gyeongbu high speed railway, this study tries to choose the local two spots in the railway in which the repair frequencies are maximum and relative small; to analyze their dynamic characteristics as well as grade; and to compare them with maintenance history. As the dynamic characteristics of track, the vertical displacement and vibrating acceleration of sleeper as well as acceleration of ballast are measured/analyzed. Furthermore, by collecting soil and gravel on the reinforced roadbed and undertaking ballast screening test, the size distributions are compared with grade distribution standards of high speed railway.

  • In this paper, a study an standardization of control cable numbering for high speed railway substation. Standard numbering structure of substation control cable and consistency of the number system are important for the railway substation construction and maintenance. However, currently control cable number system of railway substation was not standardization which was different according to a bander and a construct company. Therefor there is many difficult which does a same function to differ in maintenance and repair to accident. Therefor Standardizes the number system of the substation control cable is useful for an improve of construction and maintenance.

  • It is estimated that the running of locally-developed next generation High Speed Trains with maximum speed of 400km/h will help to deteriorate track components. It was presented rail defect coding system in UIC 712R includes the definitions of damage types of rail, maintenance procedures, and etc to detect and maintain. It is necessary to make a track maintenance manual determining track maintenance periods using the standardization of damage types of track components such as: sleeper, fastener, elastic pad. In this paper, the damage types of high speed track components are investigated by referring domestic and foreign literatures. And then the damage types of rail given in UIC 712R is reclassified more particularly and classified damage types of track components using internal high speed railway. In conclusion, this paper suggests standardization for damage types of track components on internal high speed railway.

An Introductory Study on Imperfect Maintenance Effect in Rolling Stocks

  • The maintenance effect is a peculiar factor applied to repairable systems such as rolling stocks. Conventional statistical analysis for failure times takes into account one of the two following extreme assumptions, namely, the state of the system after maintenance is either as "good as new" (GAN, perfect maintenance model) or as "bad as old" (BAO, minimal maintenance model). Most of the papers concerning the stochastic behavior of railroad systems assume two types of maintenance: perfect and minimal maintenance. However, Lee, Kim & Lee (2008) analyzed the failure data of a door system in Metro EMU and the effect of preventive maintenance was imperfect. It is seen that the imperfect maintenance is of great significance in practice. This article describes how to deal with the maintenance effect in reliability studies of rolling stocks. Maintenance policies under imperfect maintenance are described and the method is proposed to evaluate their performance.

  • In the track geometry such as rails, sleepers, ballasts and fastener, track deterioration occurs by repetitive train weight and the high-speed railway takes a trend faster than normal. Track deterioration of over threshold value harms ride comfort and furthermore affect in trains safety seriously. An organic and systematic track maintenance system is very important because a trend of the track deterioration effects on track life-cycle and running safety. Also costs of the railway track permanent way and its maintenance are extremely large, forming a significant part of the total infrastructure expenditure. Therefor reasonable and efficient track maintenance has to be planed on a budget. It is required to carry out not only corrective maintenance but preventive maintenance for the track maintenance. In order to perform maintenance jobs in the boundary of the machines and resources given regarding the type and amount jobs, it is necessary to determine feasible or optimal scheduling considering the priority. In this study, the system organization and required functions for the development of track maintenance system supported track deterioration prediction and optimal scheduling are proposed.

일반철도의 선로이용율과 선로 유지보수시간 추정 (Estimation of Line Utilization Rate and Track Maintenance Time of Conventional Railway)

  • 본 연구에서 일반철도의 선로이용율의 범위인 60%를 검토하여, 이용가능한 시간과 이용 불가능한 시간을 수치화 하였다. 또한 선로이용율을 변화시키는 요소인 선로유지보수시간에 대한 계산과 적정한 추정시간을 분석하였다. 적절한 철도운영계획과 원활한 시설유지보수를 통한 열차의 안전을 보장하여야 한다. 동시에 매일 연속되는 열차Dia의 원상회복력도 운영계획에 반영되어야 한다. 이런 사항들을 고려하여 보유 중인 기계장비와 국가철도망에 대한 자료를 활용하여 유지보수작업시간 산출방법을 개선하고, 열차지연에 대비한 여유시간을 확보하도록 검토하였다. 결론적으로 일반철도의 선로이용율과 선로유지보수시간 구성요소를 함께 수량화하여, 선로이용율은 60% 내외가 타당함을 증명하였다.
