Digital harmonics, which may reduce the radio frequency sensitivity of a system, can be coupled with an antenna in a mobile handset. This letter presents a decoupling method for increasing the isolation between digital harmonics on a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) and an antenna in terms of the ground mode current and the concept of reaction. We model the signal and ground lines in an FPCB as a loop circuit exciting a ground mode current and demonstrate a simple but efficient decoupling method for reducing the excited ground mode current.
Tilting trains are now an established feature of railway operations throughout the world. For intercity traffic, tilt provides operators with increasing speeds, and therefore enhanced competitiveness, on existing routes where insufficient traffic or a lack of funds precludes the construction of a dedicated new high-speed railway. Appling the tilting train, we can expect 30% of speed up on existing lines, but the stability of the electric current would be low because of tilting the train. Also, the spark between the catenary and pantagraph cause environmental problems such as noise, radio wave malfunction. Therefore, the tilting on pantagraph for the power suppling device is very essential for stable electric power supply.

Facial expression recognition systems using video devices have emerged as an important component of natural human-machine interfaces which contribute to various practical applications such as security systems, behavioral science and clinical practices. In this work, we present a new method to analyze, represent and recognize human facial expressions using a sequence of facial images. Under our proposed facial expression recognition framework, the overall procedure includes: accurate face detection to remove background and noise effects from the raw image sequences and align each image using vertex mask generation. Furthermore, these features are reduced by principal component analysis. Finally, these augmented features are trained and tested using Hidden Markov Model (HMM). The experimental evaluation demonstrated the proposed approach over two public datasets such as Cohn-Kanade and AT&T datasets of facial expression videos that achieved expression recognition results as 96.75% and 96.92%. Besides, the recognition results show the superiority of the proposed approach over the state of the art methods.

Optical interferometry and polarimetry have separately provided new insights into stellar astronomy, especially in the fields of fundamental parameters and atmospheric models. We present: scientific justifications for "full-Stokes" optical interferometric polarimetry (OIP); updated instrument requirements; preliminary beam combiner designs; polarimeter design; end-to-end OIP data reduction; and realistic reimaged full-Stokes models of Be stars with a suitable number of telescopes plus noise sources. All of this work represents preliminary research to construct an OIP beam combiner.
This paper considers a localization problem in time difference of arrival (TDOA)-based radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. To estimate the position of a target tag, this paper suggests three localization algorithms that use benchmark tags. The benchmark tags are the same type as the target tag, but either the locations or distance of the benchmark tags are known. Two algorithms use the benchmarks for auxiliary information to improve the estimation accuracy of the other localization algorithms such as least squared estimator (LSE). The other one utilizes the benchmarks as essential tags to estimate the location. Numerical tests show that the localization accuracy can be improved by using benchmark tags especially when an algorithm using the LSE is applied to the localization problem. Furthermore, this paper shows that our benchmark algorithm is valuable when the measurement noise is large.
The cognitive radio communication is taking the attentions because the development of the technique came to be possible to analyze wireless signals. In the IEEE 802.22 WRAN Systems[1], how to detect a spectrum and signals is continuously studied. In this paper, we propose the efficient signal detection method using SCF (Spectral Correlation Function). It is easy to detect the signal feature when we are using the SCF. Because most modulated signals have the cyclo-stationarity which is unique for each signal. But the fading channel effected serious influence even though it detects the feature of the signal. We applied LMS(Least Mean Square) filter for the compensation of the signal which is effected the serious influence in the fading channel. And we analyze some signal patterns through the SCF. And we show the unique signal feature of each signal through the SCF method. It is robust for low SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) environment and we can distinguish it in the fading channel using LMS Filter.
For small capacity rectifier circuits such as these for consumer electronics and appliances, capacitor input type rectifier circuits are generally used. Consequently, various harmonics generated within the power system become a serious problem. Various studies of this effect have been presented previously. The absence of switching devices makes systems more tolerant to over-load, and brings low radio noise benefits. We propose a power factor correction scheme using a LC resonant in commercial frequency without switching devices. In this method, It makes a sinusoidal wave by widening conduction period using the current resonance in commercial frequency, Hence, the harmonic characteristics can be significantly improved, where the lower order harmonics, such as the fifth and seventh orders are much reduced. The result are confirmed by the theoretical and expermental implementations

Audiovisual (AV) facilities such as TVs and signage are installed in various public places. However, audio cannot be used to prevent noise and interference from individuals, which results in a loss of concentration and understanding of AV content. To address this problem, a total technique for remotely listening to audio from audiovisual facilities with clean sound quality while maintaining video and lip-syncing through personal smart mobile devices is proposed in this paper. Through the experimental results, the proposed scheme has been verified to reduce system power consumption by 8% to 16% and provide real-time processing with a low latency of 120 ms. The system described in this paper will contribute to the activation of audio telehearing services as it is possible to provide audio remote services in various places, such as express buses, trains, wide-area and intercity buses, public waiting rooms, and various application services.
