  • An indoor positioning system using Wi-Fi is essential to produce a radio map that combines the indoor space of two or more dimensions, the information of node positions, and etc. in processing for constructing the radio map, the measurement of the received signal strength indicator(RSSI) and the confirmation of node placement information counsume substantial time. Especially, when the installed wireless environment is changed or a new space is created, easy installation of the node and fast indoor radio mapping are needed to provide indoor location-based services. In this paper, to reduce the time consumption, we propose an algorithm to distinguish the straight and curve lines of a corridor section by RSSI visualization and Sobel filter-based edge detection that enable accurate node deployment and space analysis using cable-type Wi-Fi node installed at a 3 m interval. Because the cable type Wi-Fi is connected by a same power line, it has an advantage that the installation order of nodes at regular intervals could be confirmed accurately. To be able to analyze specific sections in space based on this advantage, the distribution of the signal was confirmed and analyzed by Sobel filter based edge detection and total RSSI distribution(TRD) computation through a visualization process based on the measured RSSI. As a result to compare the raw data with the performance of the proposed algorithm, the signal intensity of proposed algorithm is improved by 13.73 % in the curve section. Besides, the characteristics of the straight and the curve line were enhanced as the signal intensity of the straight line decreased by an average of 34.16 %.

  • A technology for calculating the position of a device is very important for users who receive positioning services, regardless of various indoor/outdoor or with/without any positioning infrastructure existence environments. One of the positioning resources widely used at present, LTE, is a typical infrastructure that can overcome the space limitation, however its positioning method based on the position of the LTE base station has low accuracy. A method of constructing a radio wave map of an LTE signal has been proposed as a method for overcoming the accuracy, but it takes a lot of time and cost to perform high-density collection in a wide area. In this paper, we describe a method of creating a high-density DB for the entire region by using vehicle-based partial collection data. To create a positioning database, we applied the idea of Generative Adversarial Network (GAN), which has recently been in the spotlight in the field of deep learning, and learned the collected data. Then, a virtually generated map which having the smallest error from the actual data is selected as the optimum DB. We verified the effectiveness of the positioning DB generation algorithm using the positioning data obtained from un-collected area.

  • SPT-CL J2106-5844 is the most massive galaxy cluster at z>1 discovered to date. It has been known to be an isolated system with a singular, well-defined halo. However, recent studies provide lines of evidence for its merging state. We strengthen the case with the multi-wavelength observations from ALMA, ACA, ASKAP, ATCA, and Chandra. With the sensitive, high resolution ALMA+ACA observations, we reconstruct the ICM pressure map from the thermal SZ effect. It reveals two main gas components that are associated with the mass clumps inferred from the weak-lensing analysis. Furthermore, the X-ray hardness map supports the bimodal gas distribution. With these multi-wavelength data, we probe the merger phase in SPT-CL J2106-5844.

  • We map two molecular clouds located in the exact anticenter region emitting in the (J = 1-0) transition of $^{12}CO$ and $^{13}CO$ using the 3-mm SIS mixer receiver on the 14-m radio telescope at Taeduk Radio Astronomy Observatory. The target clouds with anomalous velocities of $V_{LSR}{\sim}-20km\;s^{-1}$ are distinguished from other clouds in this direction. In addition, they are located in the interarm region between the Orion Arm and the Perseus Arm. Sizes of the clouds are estimated to be about 8.6 and 10.8 pc, respectively. The total mass is estimated to be about $4{\times}10^3$ $M_{\odot}$ using CO luminosity of the clouds. Several cores are detected, but no sign of star formation is found according to the IRAS point sources. Their larger linewidths, anomalous velocities, and their location at the interarm region make these clouds more distinguished, though their physical properties are similar to the dark clouds in the solar neighborhood in terms of mass and size.

  • We present our observational results of BL Lacertae(2200+420) obtained at 22, 43, 86, and 129 GHz simultaneously during 27 months(2013.Jan ~ 2015.Mar) which includes their two gamma-ray outbursts(2013.Oct & 2015.Mar) to study a connection between the gamma-ray outbursts and the radio activity. We mainly use a Korean VLBI monitoring program, IMOGABA(Interferometric Monitoring Of Gamma-ray Bright AGNs) which is a monthly monitoring program with the KVN(Korean VLBI Network). Overall, our KVN image shows two components in the map, a stationary core at the center and one moving jet component to the south, but almost core only at 86, 129 GHz. The location of the moving jet component in the maps depend on the frequencies that 22, 43, 86, and 129 GHz. We have checked light curves, spectral index, kinematics, and radio structure to find differences before and after the gamma-ray outbursts, but there was no significant correlation. We also have derived a decay time scale of ~9 months for the major radio outburst by applying an exponential decay fitting.

  • Ubiquitous location based services (u-LBS) will be interested to an important services. They can easily recognize object position at anytime, anywhere. At present, many researchers are making a study of the position recognition and tracking. This paper consists of postion recognition and user identification system. The position recognition is based on location under services (LBS) using a signal strength map, a database is previously made use of empirical measured received signal strength indicator (RSSI). The user identification system automatically controls instruments which is located in home. Moreover users are able to measures body signal freely. We implemented the multi-hop routing method using the Star-Mesh networks. Also, we use the sensor devices which are satisfied with the IEEE 802.15.4 specification. The used devices are the Nano-24 modules in Octacomm Co. Ltd. A RSSI is very important factor in position recognition analysis. It makes use of the way that decides position recognition and user identification in narrow indoor space. In experiments, we can analyze properties of the RSSI, draw the parameter about position recognition. The experimental result is that RSSI value is attenuated according to increasing distances. It also derives property of the radio frequency (RF) signal. Moreover, we express the monitoring program using the Microsoft C#. Finally, the proposed methods are expected to protect a sudden death and an accident in home.

  • The technology used to recognize the location and surroundings of autonomous vehicles is called SLAM. SLAM standsfor Simultaneously Localization and Mapping and hasrecently been actively utilized in research on autonomous vehicles, starting with robotic research. Expensive GPS, INS, LiDAR, RADAR, and Wheel Odometry allow precise magnetic positioning and mapping in centimeters. However, if it can secure similar accuracy as using cheaper Cameras and GPS data, it will contribute to advancing the era of autonomous driving. In this paper, we present a method for converging monocular camera with RTK-enabled GPS data to perform RMSE 33.7 cm localization and mapping on the urban road.

  • Wakeup schemes that turn off sensors' radio when communication is not necessary have great potential in energy saving. At the start of each beacon interval in the IEEE 802.11 power saving mode specified for DCF, each node periodically wakes up for duration called the ATIM Window. However, in the power saving mechanism specified in IEEE 802.11, all nodes use the same ATIM window size. Since the ATIM window size critically affects throughput and energy consumption, a fixed ATIM window does not perform well in all situations. This paper proposes an adaptive mechanism to dynamically choose an ATIM window size according to network condition. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the IEEE 802.11 power saving mechanism in terms of the amount of power consumed and the packet delivery ratio.
