A radial chart of Excel is very useful graphical method in delivering information for numerical data. However, it is not easy to discriminate or classify many individuals. In this case, after shaping each individual of a radial chart, we need to apply shape analysis. For a radial chart, since landmarks for shaping are formed as many as the number of variables representing the characteristics of the object, we consider a shape that connects them to a line. If the shape becomes complicated due to the large number of variables, it is difficult to easily grasp even if visualized using a radial chart. Principal component analysis (PCA) is performed on variables to create a visually effective shape. The classification table and classification rate are checked by applying the techniques of traditional discriminant analysis, support vector machine (SVM), and artificial neural network (ANN), before and after principal component analysis. In addition, the difference in discrimination between the two coordinates of generalized procrustes analysis (GPA) coordinates and Bookstein coordinates is compared. Bookstein coordinates are obtained by converting the position, rotation, and scale of the shape around the base landmarks, and show higher rate than GPA coordinates for the classification rate.

These days Shewhart control chart for evaluating stability of the process is widely used in various field. But it must follow strict assumption of distribution. In real-life problems, this assumption is often violated when many quality characteristics follow non-normal distribution. Moreover, it is more serious in multivariate quality characteristics. To overcome this problem, many researchers have studied the non-parametric control charts. Recently, SVDD (Support Vector Data Description) control chart based on RBF (Radial Basis Function) Kernel, which is called K-chart, determines description of data region on in-control process and is used in various field. But it is important to select kernel parameter or etc. in order to apply the K-chart and they must be predetermined. For this, many researchers use grid search for optimizing parameters. But it has some problems such as selecting search range, calculating cost and time, etc. In this paper, we research the efficiency of selecting parameter regions as data structure vary via simulation study and propose a new method for determining parameters so that it can be easily used and discuss a robust choice of parameters for various data structures. In addition, we apply it on the real example and evaluate its performance.

The Lubrication Mode of line contacts between the vane and the camring in an oil hydraulic vane pump has been investigated. First, the variations of the radial force of a vane were calculated from previous measurements of dynamic internal pressure in four chambers surrounding a vane. Next, the lubrication modes were distinguished with Hooke's chart, which is an improvement over Johnson's chart. Finally, the influence of the boundary conditions in the lubrication region on the fluid film lubrication was examined by calculating the film pressure distributions. The results showed that the lubrication mode of the vane tip exists in the rigid-variable-viscosity region, and that discharge pressure higher than 7 MPa greatly affects the oil film pressure in the small and the large arc section because of the Piezo-viscous effect.
The lubrication modes of line contact between the vane and the camring in an oil hydraulic vane pump have been investigated. First, variations of the radial acting force of a vane were calculated from previously measured results of the dynamic internal pressure in four chambers surrounding a vane. Next, distinctions of the lubrication modes were made using Hooke's chart, which represents an improvement over Johnson's chart. Finally, the influence of boundary conditions in the lubrication region on fluid film lubrication was examined by calculating film pressure distributions. The results show that the lubrication modes of the vane tip are a rigid-variable viscosity region. This region discharges pressure higher than 7 MPa, and exerts a great influence on oil film pressure in the large arc section due to the Piezo-viscous effect.

Purpose: The purpose of this clinical retrospective study was to evaluate our experience of radial forearm free flap for reconstruction of the oral cavity. Material and methods: From 1997 to 2006, 50 radial forearm free flaps were employed for head and neck reconstruction in 50 patients at department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Yonsei University, Korea. Data were obtained from chart review, and clinical follow-up. Results: Patients' age ranged from 26 to 82 years (mean 53.2). There were 39 men and 11 women. 43 of the 50(86%) patients had squamous cell carcinoma. The total flap survival were 47(94%), complication rate were revealed for 15(30%). Conclusion: In the reconstruction of soft tissue within the oral cavity, several free flaps have been used. Because of its constant anatomy, long pedicle allows a hypothetic vascular anastomosis in the contralateral neck, contourability for various type of oral defects, pliability and can be used simultaneous reconstruction in intraoral and extra oral defects, the radial forearm free flap constitutes one of the best choice of intraoral soft tissue reconstruction.

The wave washer springs are expected to behave non-linearly between forces and displace¬ments due to contractions of the height and due to expansions in radial direction. To find out the non -linearity of wave washer springs, the three dimensional plate analysis theory using the finite element method is adopted in this paper. The wave washer springs are considered to be three dimensional plate structures rather than frame structures, because their thickness is normally much smaller than their width. The displacements of nodal points due to small increment of force are calculated by the finite element method and the calculated nodal displacements are added to X - Y Z coordinates of nodal points. The new stiffness matrix of the system using the new coordinates of nodal points is adopted to calculate the another nodal displacements, that is, the step by step method is used in this paper. The relations between the increments of forces and displacements in each step are recorded and plotted in chart. The experimental results are compared with the calculated chart and it is shown that there are good coincidences between measured values and calculated ones.

A new propeller series is developed using the newly developed blade section (KH 18 section) which has better cavitation characteristics and higher lift-drag ratio at wade angle-of-attack range than a conventional section. The radial patch distribution of the new series propellers is variable stance they were designed adaptively to a typical wake distribution. Basic geometric particulars of the series propellers. such as chord length, thickness, skew and rake distributions, are determined on the basis of recent full scale propeller geometric data. The series is developed for propellers having 4 blades, and blade area ratios of 0.3, 0.45, 0.6 and 0.75. Mean pitch ratios are varied as 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.95 and 1.1 for each blade area ratio. The new propeller series consists of 20 propellers and is named as the KD(KRISO-DAEWOO)-propeller series. Propeller open-water tests are performed at the towing tank, and cavitation observation tests and fluctuating pressure tests are carried out at the cavitation tunnel of KRISO. $B_{p}-\delta$ curves, which can be used to select the optimum propeller diameter at the preliminary design stage, are derived from a regression analysis of the propeller open-water test results. The KD-cavitation chart is derived from the cavitation observation test results by choosing the local maximum lift coefficient and the local cavitation number as parameters. The cavity extent predicted by the KD-cavitation chart would be more accurate compared to that by an existing cavitation charts, such as the Burrll's cavitation chart, since the former is derived from the cavitation observation test results in a typical ship's wake, while the lather is derived from the test results in a uniform flow.

The major component with a significant impact on the thermodynamic efficiency of the organic Rankine cycle is the turbine. Many difficulties occur in the turbine design of an organic Rankine cycle because the expansion process in an organic Rankine cycle is generally accompanied by a dramatic change in the working fluid properties. A precise preliminary design for a radial inflow turbine is hard to obtain using the classic method for selecting the loading and flow coefficients from the existing performance chart. Therefore, this study proposed a method to calculate the loading and flow coefficient based on the number of rotor vanes and thermodynamic design requirements. Preliminary design results using the proposed models were in fairly good agreement with the credible results using the commercial preliminary design software. Furthermore, a numerical analysis of the preliminary design results was carried out to verify the accuracy of the proposed preliminary design models, and most of the dependent variables, with the exception of the efficiency, were analyzed to meet the preliminary design conditions.
Continuous depth data are often required in applications of both onboard systems and maritime simulation. But data available are usually discrete and irregularly distributed. Based on the neuron network technique, methods of interpolation to the charted depth are suggested in this paper. Two algorithms based on Levenberg-Marquardt back-propaganda and radial-basis function networks are investigated respectively. A dynamic neuron network system is developed which satisfies both real time and mass processing applications. Using hyperbolic paraboloid and typical chart area, effectiveness of the algorithms is tested and error analysis presented. Special process in practical applications such as partition of lager areas, normalization and selection of depth contour data are also illustrated.
