In this work, we study the problem of privacy-preservation data publishing in moving objects databases. In particular, the trajectory of a mobile user in a plane is no longer a polyline in a two-dimensional space, instead it is a two-dimensional surface of fixed width $2A_{min}$, where $A_{min}$ defines the semi-diameter of the minimum spatial circular extent that must replace the real location of the mobile user on the XY-plane, in the anonymized (kNN) request. The desired anonymity is not achieved and the entire system becomes vulnerable to attackers, since a malicious attacker can observe that during the time, many of the neighbors' ids change, except for a small number of users. Thus, we reinforce the privacy model by clustering the mobile users according to their motion patterns in (u, ${\theta}$) plane, where u and ${\theta}$ define the velocity measure and the motion direction (angle) respectively. In this case, the anonymized (kNN) request looks up neighbors, who belong to the same cluster with the mobile requester in (u, ${\theta}$) space: Thus, we know that the trajectory of the k-anonymous mobile user is within this surface, but we do not know exactly where. We transform the surface's boundary poly-lines to dual points and we focus on the information distortion introduced by this space translation. We develop a set of efficient spatiotemporal access methods and we experimentally measure the impact of information distortion by comparing the performance results of the same spatiotemporal range queries executed on the original database and on the anonymized one.

Fog computing has become a popular concept in the application of internet of things (IoT). With the superiority in better service providing, the edge cloud has become an attractive solution to IoT networks. The data outsourcing scheme of IoT devices demands privacy protection as well as computation verification since the lightweight devices not only outsource their data but also their computation. Existing solutions mainly deal with the operations over encrypted data, but cannot support the computation verification in the same time. In this paper, we propose a data outsourcing scheme based on an encrypted database system with linear computation as well as efficient query ability, and enhance the interlayer program in the original system with homomorphic message authenticators so that the system could perform computational verifying. The tools we use to construct our scheme have been proven secure and valid. With our scheme, the system could check if the cloud provides the correct service as the system asks. The experiment also shows that our scheme could be as effective as the original version, and the extra load in time is neglectable.

The Integration of agent technology and security technology is needed to many application areas like electronic commerce. This paper suggests a model of extended multi-agent engine which supports privacy, integrity, authentication and non-repudiation on agent communication. Each agent which is developed with the agent engine is composed of agent engine layer and agent application layer. We describe and use the concepts self-to-self messages, secure communication channel, and distinction of KQML messages in agent application layer and messages in agent engine layer. The suggested agent engine provides an agent communication language which is extended to enable secure communication between agents without any modifications or restrictions to content layer and message layer of KQML. Also, in the model of our multi-agent engine, secure communication is expressed and processed transparently on the agent communication language.

With the rapid development of cloud computing, more and more data owners are motivated to outsource their data to cloud for various benefits. Due to serious privacy concerns, sensitive data should be encrypted before being outsourced to the cloud. However, this results that effective data utilization becomes a very challenging task, such as keyword search over ciphertexts. Although many searchable encryption methods have been proposed, they only support exact keyword search. Thus, misspelled keywords in the query will result in wrong or no matching. Very recently, a few methods extends the search capability to fuzzy keyword search. Some of them may result in inaccurate search results. The other methods need very large indexes which inevitably lead to low search efficiency. Additionally, the above fuzzy keyword search methods do not support access control. In our paper, we propose a searchable encryption method which achieves fuzzy search and access control through algorithm design and Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-based Encryption (CP-ABE). In our method, the index is small and the search results are accurate. We present word pattern which can be used to balance the search efficiency and privacy. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments and analyze the security of the proposed method.
With advance of cloud computing technology, Blockchain as a Service of Cloud Service Provider has been utilized in various areas such as e-Commerce and financial companies to manage customer history and distribution history. However, if users' search history, purchase history, etc. are to be utilized in a BaaS in areas such as recommendation algorithms and search engine development, the users' search queries will be exposed to the company operating the BaaS, and privacy issues will be occured. Z. Guan et al. ensure the unlinkability between users' search query and search result using searchable encryption, and based on the inner product similarity, they select Top-k results that are highly relevant to the users' search query. However, there is a problem that the Top-k results selection may be not possible due to ties of inner product similarity, and BaaS over cloud is not considered. Therefore, this paper solve the problem of Z. Guan et al. using cosine similarity, so we improve accuracy of search result. And based on this, we design a BaaS with secure Top-k search that improved accuracy. Furthermore, we design a smart contracts that preserve privacy of users' search and obtain Top-k search results that are highly relevant to the users' search.

In wireless internet, the location information of the user is one of the important resources for many applications. One of these applications is Location-Based Services (LBSs) which are being popular. Because, in the LBS system, users request a location-based query to LBS servers by sending their exact location, the location information of the users can be misused by adversaries. In this regard, there must be a mechanism which can deal with privacy protection of the users. In this paper, we propose a cloaking method considering both features of K-anonymity and L-diversity. Our cloaking method creates a minimum cloaking region by finding L number of buildings (L-diversity) and then finding number of users (K-anonymity). To support this, we use a R*-tree based index structure and use filtering methods especially for the m inimum cloaking region. Finally, we show from a performance analysis that our method outperforms the existing grid based cloaking method.

Recent development in wireless communication and mobile positioning technologies makes Location-Based Services (LBSs) popular. However, because, in the LBSs, users request a query to database servers by using their exact locations, the location information of the users can be misused by adversaries. Therefore, a mechanism for users' privacy protection is required for the safe use of LBSs by mobile users. For this, we, in this paper, propose a efficient cloaking region creation scheme using Hilbert curves in distributed grid environment, so as to protect users' privacy in LBSs. The proposed scheme generates a minimum cloaking region by analyzing the characteristic of a Hilbert curve and computing the Hilbert curve values of neighboring cells based on it, so that we may create a cloaking region to satisfy K-anonymity. In addition, to reduce network communication cost, we make use of a distributed hash table structure, called Chord. Finally, we show from our performance analysis that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing grid-based cloaking method.
A radio-frequency identification(RFID) tag is a small, inexpensive microchip that emits an identifier in response to a query from a nearby reader. The price of these tags promises to drop to the range of $0.05 per unit in the next several years, offering a viable and powerful replacement for barcodes. The challenge in providing security for low-cost RFID tags is that they are computationally weak devices, unable to perform even basic symmetric-key cryptographic operations. Security researchers often therefore assume that good privacy protection in RFID tags is unattainable. In this paper, we explore a notion of minimalist cryptography suitable for RFID tags. We consider the type of security obtainable in RFID devices with a small amount of rewritable memory, but very limited computing capability. Our aim is to show that standard cryptography is not necessary as a starting point for improving security of very weak RFID devices. Our contribution is threefold: 1. We propose a new formal security model for authentication and privacy in RFID tags. This model takes into account the natural computational limitations and the likely attack scenarios for RFID tags in real-world settings. It represents a useful divergence from standard cryptographic security modeling, and thus a new view of practical formalization of minimal security requirements for low-cost RFID-tag security. 2. We describe protocol that provably achieves the properties of authentication and privacy in RFID tags in our proposed model, and in a good practical sense. Our proposed protocol involves no computationally intensive cryptographic operations, and relatively little storage. 3. Of particular practical interest, we describe some reduced-functionality variants of our protocol. We show, for instance, how static pseudonyms may considerably enhance security against eavesdropping in low-cost RFID tags. Our most basic static-pseudonym proposals require virtually no increase in existing RFID tag resources.
Recently with the rapid development of LBS (Location-based Services) technology, approaches of protecting user's location have gained tremendous attentions. For using LBS, users need to forward their real locations to LBS server. However, if the user sends his/her real location to LBS server, the server will have the all the information about user in LBS. Moreover, if the user opens it to LBS server for a long time, the trajectory of user may be released. In this paper, we propose GTC (Grid-based Trajectory Cloaking) method to address the privacy issue. Different from existing approaches, firstly the GTC method sets the predicting trajectory and divides the map into $2^n*2^n$ grid. After that we will generate cloaking regions according to user's desired privacy level. Finally the user sends them to LBS server randomly. The GTC method can make the cost of process less than sequential trajectory k-anonymity. Because of confusing the departure and destination, LBS server could not know the user's trajectory any more. Thus, we significantly improve the privacy level. evaluation results further verify the effectiveness and efficiency of our GTC method.

With the development of location-based applications such as smart phones and GPS navigation, active research is being conducted to protect location and trajectory privacy. To receive location-related services, users must disclose their exact location to the server. However, disclosure of users' location exposes not only their locations but also their trajectory to the server, which can lead to concerns of privacy violation. Furthermore, users request from the server not only location information but also multimedia information (photographs, reviews, etc. of the location), and this increases the processing cost of the server and the information to be received by the user. To solve these problems, this study proposes the EGTC (Enhanced Grid-based Trajectory Cloaking) technique. As with the existing GTC (Grid-based Trajectory Cloaking) technique, EGTC method divides the user trajectory into grids at the user privacy level (UPL) and creates a cloaking region in which a random query sequence is determined. In the next step, the necessary information is received as index by considering the sub-grid cell corresponding to the path through which the user wishes to move as c(x,y). The proposed method ensures the trajectory privacy as with the existing GTC method while reducing the amount of information the user must listen to. The excellence of the proposed method has been proven through experimental results.
