Korea has not tried any food consumption survey so far except the national nutrition survey, which does not show food consumption patterns of different income stratas. The results of the family income and expenditure survey(FIES) by the national statistical office can be precious sources which show household food consumption patterns due to large, random. Samples, year-round survey period and socioeconomic background data. This study analyzed the FIES data to find out food consumption patterns including nutrient intakes and frequently consumed foods by households among different monthly income levels. Big difference was found in food consumption patterns among the quartile-income groups especially the amount of consumed foods, food expenditure, and nutrient intakes. For every food item, the higher the monthly invomr, yhr motr og goof yhry vondumrf. The monthly food expenditure of higher higher income strata was composed with higher percentage of relatively expensive foods compared to other stratas. Nutrient intake levels of lower income strata were 50-60% of the RDA, which showed the necessicity of food assistance programs for those high risk groups to complement the nutritional difficiency. Background: The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status and factors of elderly patients' hospitalization for hip replacement, knee replacement, and general spine surgery. Methods: National health insurance data in 2018 was provided by the National Health Insurance Service. We used multiple regression to analyze factors associated with the medical utilization of hip replacement, knee replacement, and general spine surgery in elderly patients over 65 years old. The dependent variables are the length of stay and total health expenditure. The independent variables are the demographic-social factors (sex, age, region, insurance type, income level) and surgery-related factors (institution type, location of the hospital, surgery classification). Results: The most common factor affecting surgery was the location of medical institutions. Compared with the medical institutions located in metropolitan, the length of stay in rural medical institutions was higher and total health expenditure was lower. The lower quartile of income, the higher the length of stay and total health expenditure. In addition, the variables of age, type of health insurance, and type of medical institution were statistically significant. Conclusion: In this study, we confirmed the effect of sociodemographic factors and medical institution factors on the Healthcare Utilization of spinal and joint surgery.

This paper explores the barriers to derivative accounting disclosures in Vietnamese companies and ranks their relative importance for effective and efficient remedies. The Delphi technique was applied to get agreement of panel of experts on the measurement of factors hindering disclosure. Unstructured questionnaires were first sent to twelve experts who had both practical experience and academic knowledge in the field to get ideas on the obstructions to derivatives disclosure. The structured questionnaire was designed to get their agreement on barriers to derivative accounting disclosures. The data analysis with mean, median, mode, standard deviation, and quartile has been implemented to ensure the unanimity. Market-related factors, legislation, accountants' attributes, managers' attributes, information technology and communication, and on-site training were the six major obstacles agreed upon by the experts during their in-depth interviews. Then, these factors were ranked by applying the analytical hierarchy process (AHP). The findings confirmed the priority of information technology and communication, which held the greatest weight. Legislation ranked second, followed by market-related factors and on-site training, which explained the impediments to derivatives disclosure. Managers' and accountants' attributes had the least contribution to the barriers to derivative disclosures. The results have important implications for actions to enhance corporate derivative disclosures in Vietnam.
This study was conducted to investigate the intake status of beverages and water in Korean adults using data from the 8th National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The 'total water' intake was 2,250.6 g for men and 1,871.2 g for women. Men and women consumed an average of 314.9 g of 'total beverages', of which 'coffee' was the largest at 107.5 g, followed by 'others'(65.4 g), 'milk' (44.8 g), 'soda' (44.1 g), 'teas' (20.9 g), and 'fruits and vegetables' (18.5 g). The intake of 'plain water' was 1,059.9 g, and the intake of 'water from food' consumed was 547.3 g. The 'total water' intake decreased with increasing age in males and females (p<0.001). Both men and women showed a tendency toward increased 'total water' intake as income levels increased. 'Plain water' intake accounted for 51.4% of the 'total water' intake in males and females. The intake of all nutrients significantly increased from the Q1 group to the Q4 group by quartile ranges of total water intake. The results of this study showed that the intake of healthy water should be considered, and care and educational programs are needed, especially for older people, to ensure adequate water intake.

This study explored journal publishing and authorship by South Korean early career researchers (ECRs) in the field of library and information science (LIS). This research analyzed relevant journal publication data and conducted interviews to obtain information on the experiences and opinions of ECRs. Results indicated that South Korean ECRs in LIS were highly productive. This was evidenced by their annual publishing rate of 2.04 articles per person. In addition, Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) publications were produced at an annual average of 0.26 articles per person, while the quartile ratings for SSCI journal publications were also relatively high. However, unlike the trends seen in other academic fields, their collaborative research efforts were not considered very high because such efforts did not correspond to half their total publications. ECRs often participate as lead or corresponding authors despite being new researchers. ECRs are publishing first in the journals approved by their universities. These researchers cannot receive proper credit if the journal was not approved in this manner. ECRs are particularly disadvantaged when publishing in international journals corresponding to specific areas that are not on the SSCI list. By examining the journal publishing and authorship efforts of ECRs, this study discovered a variety of difficulties that should be addressed. For example, South Korean universities do not currently have cooperative research guidelines to solve authorship problems. The results from this study can serve as a basis to establish academic publishing and authorship policies while promoting scholarly communication in LIS and other scientific fields.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between socioeconomic status and chewing discomfort and identify the role of food insecurity in the association's causal pathway in a representative sample of Korean elders. MATERIALS/METHODS: We conducted cross-sectional analyses of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2013-2015) data for elders aged ≥ 65 years. Socioeconomic status indicators used included household income and education level. Chewing discomfort was assessed according to the self-reported presence of chewing problems. Food security was surveyed using a questionnaire based on the US Household Food Security Survey Module. RESULTS: The odds ratios of chewing discomfort in the 1st and 2nd income quartiles were 1.55 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.15-2.10) and 1.40 (95% CI, 1.03-1.90), respectively, compared to participants in the highest income quartile. Participants with the lowest education level were 1.89 (95% CI, 1.30-2.75) times more likely to have chewing discomfort than those without chewing discomfort. After including food security in the final model, the logistic coefficients were attenuated in the income and education quartiles. CONCLUSIONS: Low socioeconomic status was associated with chewing discomfort. In addition, the results confirm that food insecurity can mediate the association between socioeconomic inequalities and chewing discomfort among the elderly.
Purpose: To analyze the frequency of emergency room visits according to socioeconomic factors of emergency room visitors. Methods: In this study, frequency analysis, percentage analysis, and x2 test were performed using the SPSS 23.0 program based on the 2018 data from the Korea Health Panel. Results: Among 1,648 participants included in this study, 1,279 visited the emergency room only once in the past year, while 369 visited the emergency room more than once. The relationship between frequency of emergency room visits and socioeconomic factors was analyzed using x2 test, and no statistically significant relationship was noted between emergency room visits and education, economic activity, insurance type, and individual quartile income. However, a significant relationship was noted between emergency room visits and being handicap and living in households with quintile income. Conclusion: The study determined the relationship between frequency of emergency room visits and socioeconomic factors. A follow-up study analyzing socioeconomic factors of outpatient departments, 119 ambulance transport services, and frequency of emergency room visits among chronically ill patients is needed to provide basic data for establishing health policies among different socioeconomic strata.
Purpose - This study aims to develop machine learning models to predict administrative issue designation in KOSDAQ Market using financial data. Design/methodology/approach - Employing four classification techniques including logistic regression, support vector machine, random forest, and gradient boosting to a matched sample of five hundred and thirty-six firms over an eight-year period, the authors develop prediction models and explore the practicality of the models. Findings - The resulting four binary selection models reveal overall satisfactory classification performance in terms of various measures including AUC (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve), accuracy, F1-score, and top quartile lift, while the ensemble models (random forest and gradienct boosting) outperform the others in terms of most measures. Research implications or Originality - Although the assessment of administrative issue potential of firms is critical information to investors and financial institutions, detailed empirical investigation has lagged behind. The current research fills this gap in the literature by proposing parsimonious prediction models based on a few financial variables and validating the applicability of the models.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to compare the characteristics between adolescents who have run away from home before and who have contemplated running away from home before, and to find risk factors that predict runaway behavior among them. Methods: The data of 「the survey on adolescents' right to adequate housing and the way to ensure their housing with the focus on social exclusion」 by the National Youth Policy Institute (2020) were analyzed. A total of 494 adolescents were included in the study. Descriptive statistics, x2 test, t-test, and simple and multiple logistic regressions were carried out using SAS 9.2. Results: Gender, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and school level were significantly different between the two groups. From the multivariate analysis, the adjusted odds ratio for runaway behavior was significantly higher in male students (AOR: 2.14, p<.001), lower in the middle economic class than in the high economic class (AOR: 0.64, p=.051), lower in the 4th quartile group of self-esteem (AOR: 0.52, p=.041), and higher in high school students (AOR: 1.55, p=.050). Conclusion: Considering that male students, students from wealthier families, students with low self-esteem, and high school students are high-risk groups for runaway behavior, among adolescents who have contemplated running away before, interventions targeting these groups are needed.

The objective of this paper was to establish the attributes that determines neighbourhood satisfaction in South Africa lowincome housing subsidy scheme ultilising the Delphi approach. This is because the perception and housing satisfaction of lowincome housing beneficiaries toward their housing condition can be studied by examining their satisfaction toward s the neighbourhood factors. The Delphi method was used where the views of housing experts were solicited on 26 potential attributes as identified from li terature. Consensus was achieved after three iterative rounds. The expert"s scored each attributes on a 10-point ordinal scale of impact significance, where 1-2=No impact and 9-10= very high impact. The scales adapted for consensus were: strong consensus, median 9-10, inter quartile deviation (IQD) ≤1; good consensus, median 7 ≤ 6.99and IQD≥2.1≤3. The key findings indicate that there was a good to strong consensus of 19 attributes which were key attributes that the experts perceived as determinants of neighbourhood satisfaction; while 6 other attributes had weak consensus, as they were considered to have a le sser impact in determining residents" neighbourhood satisfaction. However, attributes with weak consensus were the attributes that are highly regarded as core neighbourhood factors in other housing settings. The study contributes to the body of knowledge on th e subject where no consensus has been reached pertaining to indicators for measuring neighbourhood satisfaction in subsidised low-income housing in South Africa.
