개념 설계 평가를 위한 제품 품질지수 (Product Quality Index for Concept Design Evaluation)

  • A product system will be improved continually until requirements are satisfied. It is true that considering alternative designs to improve product system is hard work; it is also true that selecting an adequate design idea that represents the needs of stakeholders concerned and meets effectiveness factors properly is not an easy work, either. In the process of driv-ing an idea and designing, which is called Design Phase, there are lots of existing tools for testing the driven idea in DFSS. But, those kinds of tools do not offer the function that helps to select the technically better design idea among alternative design ideas that have the same evaluation level. Moreover it is inappropriate to select adequate alternative design ideas by just verifying only the evaluation table in pugh matrix, since satisfied deviation val-ues are low when there is a too competitive mass product system in a market. Also, for the IT product with short life cycle, faster and more effective testing tool is needed. Therefore, the 'roduct quality index' is suggested in order to select an appropriate candidate design concept for system development that meets requirements by using 'deality concept' pro-vided by TRIZ. According to the result of this research, it is possible to select technically better idea fast and effectively; it is confirmed by applying the approach to the case of LCD BLU (Back Light Unit).

Comparative Evaluation of Egg Quality in Response to Temperature Variability: From Farm to Table Exposure Scenarios

  • This study aimed to develop appropriate temperature management practices and provide scientific evidence to support the development of sell-by-date guidance for eggs. Washed and unwashed eggs were subjected to storage under six different scenarios, and both types of eggs were stored at temperatures up to 35℃ to evaluate the sell-by-date. Despite temperature fluctuations or continuous storage at 30℃ for 5 days, subsequent storage at 10℃ resulted in significantly higher Haugh unit and yolk index on day 15. These results indicate that refrigerating eggs from retail sales until consumption is effective for egg quality management, despite the exposure of up to 35℃ during distribution. In terms of sell-by-date evaluation, washed eggs retained class B quality for an additional 37 days beyond the recommended sell-by-date at 15℃, which is above the regulated storage temperature. However, unwashed eggs maintained class B quality for approximately 20 days at 30℃-35℃, emphasizing the need for sell-by-date guidelines for unwashed eggs. This study is the first to provide appropriate egg-handling practices based on the actual distribution environment in Korea.

아스팔트 포장의 품질측정을 위한 확률이론과 PWL방법의 비교 분석 (Comparison Analysis between PWL and Probability Theory for Quality Measurement of Asphalt Pavement)

  • 본 연구는 국내에 적합한 지불규정을 도입하기 위해 아스팔트 포장의 품질측정 방법을 제시하고자 수행되었다. 지불규정은 통계이론을 바탕으로 포장의 품질을 결정하여 시공비용을 조정하는 방법으로 지불규정을 적용하는 미국 대다수의 주에서는 고유의 품질테이블을 이용해 PWL(Percent With in Limit)을 산정한다. 따라서 미국 South Carolina에서 적용중인 품질측정테이블을 사용한 PWL과 통계분석방법에 기초한 확률이론의 비교분석을 통해 PWL의 국내 적용여부의 가능성을 판단하였다. 시험포장구간의 데이터를 사용하여 통계이론을 이용해 산출한 확률값과 PWL을 미국AASHTO에서 제시한 지불계수(Pay Factor)에 대입한 결과는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으며 확률값 도출을 위한 Z-Value산출과정에서 모집단의 평균을 추정해 계산한 확률값 역시 PWL과 유사한 값을 보였다. 또한 현행 아스팔트 포장의 시방규정을 만족하지만 표준편차가 큰 가상의 데이터를 이용하여 지불계수를 산정한 결과 데이터의 평균값은 현행 시방규정에 만족하지만 지불계수는 100%이하로 산정되는 경우가 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 PWL방법을 이용함으로써 균질하고 성능이 우수한 품질의 측정이 가능한 것을 의미하며 따라서 국내실정에 접합한 품질측정테이블을 개발하여 PWL을 국내 지불규정의 품질측정방법으로 사용하는 것이 적합한 것으로 판단되었다.

Lossless VQ Indices Compression Based on the High Correlation of Adjacent Image Blocks

  • Traditional vector quantization (VQ) schemes encode image blocks as VQ indices, in which there is significant similarity between the image block and the codeword of the VQ index. Thus, the method can compress an image and maintain good image quality. This paper proposes a novel lossless VQ indices compression algorithm to further compress the VQ index table. Our scheme exploits the high correlation of adjacent image blocks to search for the same VQ index with the current encoding index from the neighboring indices. To increase compression efficiency, codewords in the codebook are sorted according to the degree of similarity of adjacent VQ indices to generate a state codebook to find the same index with the current encoding index. Note that the repetition indices both on the search path and in the state codebooks are excluded to increase the possibility for matching the current encoding index. Experimental results illustrated the superiority of our scheme over other compression schemes in the index domain.

CT 테이블 높이에 따른 방사선 선량 및 화질 평가 (Evaluation of Radiation Dose and Image Quality according to CT Table Height)

  • 컴퓨터단층촬영 (CT:Computed Tomography)은 환자의 정확한 진단을 위해 진단참고준위인 전산화 단층촬영 선량지표 (CTDI: Computed Tomography Dose Index)와 (DLP:Dose Length Product)의 정보를 제공한다. 그러나 CT 장비가 제공하는 진단참고준위는 테이블 높이에 따른 선량의 변화를 제공하지 않는다. 이번 연구는 컴퓨터단층촬영 검사 시 최적화된 이미지와 최소선량을 찾기 위하여 컴퓨터단층촬영 테이블 높이 변화에 따른 이미지와 선량을 팬텀(PMMA: Polymethyl Methacrylate)을 사용하여 비교 평가하였다. 성인의 복부와 같은 두께인 32 cm PMMA 팬텀을 촬영할 경우 테이블 높이에 따른 선량 변화는 거의 없었다. 그러나 이미지의 노이즈(Noise) 평가에서는 테이블 높이에 따라 노이즈 변동 폭이 크게 발생되었다. 그리고 16 cm PMMA 팬텀인 경우는 노이즈의 변화는 작지만 선량변화는 약 30 % 발생하였다. 결론적으로 컴퓨터단층촬영 (CT:Computed Tomography)의 검사 시에는 환자의 두께에 중심에 정확하게 일치시켜야 한다. 또한 최적화된 이미지와 최소선량으로 검사하기 위해서는 테이블 높이 설정이 중요할 것으로 사료된다.

한국 음식문화를 기반으로 한 한식 식사패턴 지수의 개발과 검증 (The Development and Validation of the Korean Dietary Pattern Score (KDPS))

  • The aim of this study was to develop a KDPS (Korean dietary pattern score) to assess dietary patterns and diet quality of Koreans from a food culture perspective. The KDPS was applied to dietary data collected during the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey of 2007, and the validity and reliability of the KDPS were evaluated. The targets of the study included 2,278 Korean adults aged 20n89 years. The KDPS was developed using the sum of the scores of 13 components. Each component scored up to 10 points and there was a total of 130 points. The first seven components were for the KSMS (Korean-style meal score) and assessed the dietary balance based on the 3-Chup Bansang daily basic table setting. The components numbered 8 to 13 were for the FGS (food group score), which measured the degree of compliance with the six major food groups based on the Korean recommendation for one serving size of grains, meats, vegetables, fruits, milk, and oils. This KDPS was verified through content validity, concurrent-criterion validity, principal components analysis, and a reliability analysis. The results showed that content validity and construct validity were high. The KDPS developed in this study adhered to the Korean dietary pattern and a healthy diet intake. Furthermore, this study presented an integrated index by scoring the Korean style table setting in addition to evaluating meals from a nutrition perspective. This study can be extended to develop a score for assessing.

대학수학능력시험 점수산정시스템의 품질 제고를 위한 연구 (A Study on the Quality Improvement of College Scholastic Ability Test Scoring System)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the score data released by the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation to find out the problems with the current scoring system provided by the College Scholastic Ability Test and to suggest improvement measures to solve these problems. Methods: We calculated the descriptive statistics of the standard scores using the frequency distribution table of the standard scores and identified the characteristics of the standard scores by expressing the distribution as a graph. Also, we developed an index to evaluate whether each stanine level was stably assigned and calculated the indexes for each area/subject by using the data on the number of examinees for each level. Results: We found that the relationship of conversion from raw scores to integerized standard scores is different depending on the size of the standard deviation of the raw scores, and identified the problem that the raw score information is not fairly reflected in the calculation of the percentile and level as the two raw scores are converted to one standard score. This problem can be solved by calculating the standard score to a decimal point. Conclusion: In this study, as a way to improve the quality of the scores of the current CSAT, the standard score and percentile decimal notation, the specific regulations of the standard score and stanine level calculation method, and the expansion of the open range of the scores were suggested.

게이지 R&R과 성능지수를 이용한 측정시스템과 공정능력 평가 방법 (Evaluation Method for Measurement System and Process Capability Using Gage R&R and Performance Indices)

  • High variance observed in the measurement system can cause high process variation that can affect process capability badly. Therefore, measurement system analysis is closely related to process capability analysis. Generally, the evaluation for measurement system and process variance is performed separately in the industry. That is, the measurement system analysis is implemented before process monitoring, process capability and process performance analysis even though these analyses are closely related. This paper presents the effective concurrent evaluation procedure for measurement system analysis and process capability analysis using the table that contains Process Performance (Pp), Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (%R&R) and Number of Distinct Categories (NDC). Furthermore, the long-term process capability index (Pp), which takes into account both gage variance and process variance, is used instead of the short-term process capability (Cp) considering only process variance. The long-term capability index can reflect well the relationship between the measurement system and process capability. The quality measurement and improvement guidelines by region scale are also described in detail. In conclusion, this research proposes the procedure that can execute the measurement system analysis and process capability analysis at the same time. The proposed procedure can contribute to reduction of the measurement staff's effort and to improvement of accurate evaluation.

전북 진안 낙엽송 임분의 지위지수 및 간재적식 추정 (Estimation of Site Index and Stem Volume Equations for Larix leptolepis Stand in Jinan, Chonbuk)

  • 본 연구는 전라북도 진안 지역의 낙엽송을 대상으로 지위지수 추정과 지위지수곡선 유도 및 간재적식 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 지위지수에 대한 식은 대수차분 방정식에 의해 개발되었다. 기초 연령 40년으로 한 다형 지위지수 패밀리 곡선은 Schumacher 수고 방정식을 기초로 표현하였다. 최적의 간재적 추정식은 $V=0.00260+0.00000399D^2H$로 판명되었다. 이 방정식에 사용한 동시 F-검정에서 추정된 간재적량은 모델 평가에 관한 실측된 간재적량과 유의(${\alpha}=0.05$)하게 다르지 않음을 보여주었다. 지위지수 곡선과 재적 추정식의 결과는 지위와 수확표 조제시 기초 자료로 제공할 수 있고, 진안지역 낙엽송 임분의 지역 산림경영에 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

개선된 전처리 과정을 이용한 지문 인식 시스템 (Fingerprint Verification System Using Improved Preprocessing)

  • 지문에 기반을 둔 인식시스템은 오래 전부터 사용되었다. 지문은 이미 잘 알려진 바와 마찬가지로 개개인이 서로 다른 특징을 가지고 있기 때문에, 가장 널리 사용되는 생체계측적인 특징의 하나이다. 그러나 지문 인식 시스템은 입력 지문 영상의 상태가 나쁜 경우 인식 성능이 크게 저하되는 치명적인 약점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위해 향상된 방향과 향상된 이진화 및 세선화 영상을 이용한 영상 향상 알고리즘을 전처리 과정에서 사용한다. 영상 향상의 목적은 입력 지문 이미지의 품질을 정확히 측정하고, 지문 영상의 융선과 골의 구조를 개선시키는 것이다. 또한 인식 속도를 향상시키기 위하여 색인 테이블을 사용한 융선의 방향 정보 추출 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 지문 인식 시스템이 특징점 추출과 인식 성능에서 향상되었음을 실험을 통해서 확인할 수 있었다.
