Evaluating Properties of Variable Sampling Interval EWMA Control Charts for Mean Vector

  • Theoretical and numerical comparison have shown that variable sampling interval (VSI) charts are substantially more efficient than fixed sampling interval(FSI) charts in term of ATS(average time to signal). But the frequency of switching between different sampling intervals is a complicating factor in VSI procedures. VSI EWMA charts for monitoring mean vector of related qualify characteristics are investigated. To compare the efficiencies of the proposed charts, the performances are evaluated for matched FSI and VSI charts in terms of average time to signal(ATS) and average number of samples to signal(ANSS). For the switching behavior of the proposed VSI charts, average number of switches(ANSW) are also investigated.

항공사 서비스 품질 측정방법의 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of Measuring Air Liners′ Service Quality)

  • There have been academic debates upon which measure is more desirable in measuring service qualify between SERVQUAL and SERVPERF. In addition, Korean air lines industry is rapidly growing due to the increase of Koren family income and globalization. This study tried to contribute to both academic and practical issues. This study compared SERVQUAL and SERVPERF measures to determine which is superior to measure service quality in Korean air lines industry. Data was collected from two airliners' customers of Korea. According to the results of confirmatory factor analyses, regression analyses and analyses of goodness of fit, SERVPERF appears to be better in measuring service quality in Korean air lines industry than SERVQUAL. We suggest that SERVPERF be used to measure service quality in Korean air lines industry.

  • Gears are essential elements for mechanical power transmission. Geometric precision is the main factor for characterizing gear grade and qualify. Gear pitch is one of the crucial measurements, which is defined as a distance between two adjacent gear teeth. It is well-known that variability in gear pitches may causes wear-out and vibration noise. Therefore maintaining pitch errors at a low level plays a key role in assuring the gear quality to customers. This paper is concerned with a case study, which presents a computerized system for Inspecting pitch errors in a gear machining process. This system consists of a PC and window-based programs. Although the start and stop is manually accomplished, the process of measuring and analyzing pitch data is automatically conducted in this system. Our purpose lies in reducing inspection cost and time as well as Increasing test reliability. Its operation is briefly illustrated by example. Sometimes a strong autocorrelation is observed from pitch data. We also discuss a process monitoring scheme taking account of autocorrelations.

BZCT 세라믹의 마이크로파 특성에 관한 연구 (Microwave Dielectric Properties of BZCT Ceramics)

  • Ba(Zn$_1$-xCox)TaO$_3$[BZCT] ceramics were Prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method. The ceramics were sintered at the temperature of 1450∼1550$\^{C}$ for 5 hr in air. The crystal structure of BZCT ceramics was investigated by the XRD. The microstructure of the specimens were observed by SEM. The structural properties of BZCT specimens were investigated as a function of composition and sintering temperature. All BZCT ceramics sintered over 1550$\^{C}$ were showed a polycrystalline complek perovskite structure without second phases and any unreacted materials. The density of BZCT (70/30) specimen sintered at 1550$\^{C}$ was 6.31g/㎤. In the case of the BZCT(70/30) ceramics sintered at 1550$\^{C}$ for 5 hours, dielectric constant, qualify factor and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency for microwave dielectrics application were a good value of 29, 16,468 at 10㎓ and -4.4 ppm/$\^{C}$, respectively.

  • Recently residential-commercial buildings are being built more like residential-oriented apartments and also as deluxe residential houses targeting at the high-income bracket that is seeking for high Qualify of life. The important factors to provide a pleasant environment for residential-commercial buildings are both common space shared by occupants and the quality of service and the conveniences. These have already become prominent as important factors when choosing a residence. This research manipulates the characteristics of commonly shared space, being an important factor of amenity, in the residential-commercial buildings recently built for sale so that a reference to planning of common space in residential-commercial buildings can be provided for the future.

  • The objectives of this paper are to introduce some characteristics of two-dimensional concept of quality and to find out the possibility of the application of two-dimensional quality concept for improving the service quality. The concept was applied to small & medium-sized foreign language Institute. In order to select some service quality dimensions and decide attractive qualify factors among numerous factors, factor analysis and frequently analysis were used. The result. is that all quality factors in empathy dimension are identified as attractive quality factors. This implies that customization program is necessary in small & medium-sized foreign language institutes for improving their competitiveness. However, all quality factors in tangibles dimension are identified as must-be quality factors.

  • The purpose of this study was to achieve regarding the environmental problem due to excessive economic development for human being's continous life and to try to enhance the quality of life. The major findings of this study are as followings: 1) Environmental consciousness and activity are closely correlated and also postively related to quality of life. Accordingly, environmental consciousness should be inspired and the environmental activities performed successfully to enhance the quality of life so that we can lead higher quality of life. 2) Income takes the highest position in the life-influncing factor with the following sequence of environmental consciousness, preservation acitivity, housekeeper's education level and age. So, earlier and steady education are important in raising the education level to have people equipped with environmental consciousness and activity. Moreover, we should be able to create income through education to enhance the quality of life. Accordingly, we should take a positive measure for enhancing environmental preservation and quality of life to meet two solutions, such as mankind's continuous development and value-oriented life.

  • The difference of sex has been an object of interest and argument in medical, psychological, social, and cognitive science fields. This study started from the question of to what extent does the difference of sex have effect on successful interior design. In strive of resolving this, an experimentation of preference in terms of cafe interior design was performed with methods of human sensibility ergonomics. As the result, the difference of sex in preference regarding calf interior design could be observed. Males have main interest in the intensity of luminance, i.e. the brightness, whereas females attach importance to both qualify of light and color. In addition, there is a tendency for males to see cafe as a public place while females recognize cafe as a place for entertainment. Taking the result of this study into consideration can lead to successful gender specific cafe interior design.

A study on the factors and the source of information in PC purchase

  • This paper presents a direction that can help PC sales manager establish more effective marketing strategy by understanding how they get information on the products and what they consider most when the consumers purchase personal Computer. The survey was conducted on the two groups of OSAN College students classified according to their computer handling skill. Frequency analysis has shown that consumers largely got information on the products through word of mouth of friends or family members rather than mass media advertisement. And factor analysis has shown that consumers consider the qualify of after service has brand name most when they buy PC. Particularly, the consumers who are good at dealing with PC are more concerned with the quality of after service, brand name, salesman's kindness and delivery-installation than the ones having poor PC skills are. This survey results indicate that PC sales managers need to set up different marketing strategies in accordance with the consumer's PC utilizing capability.
