지붕면 유출제어를 위한 빗물의 저장-펌프 시스템 조합 결정방안 (A Determination Method of a Rainwater Retention-Pumping System Combination for Runoff Control from Building Roof Area)

  • 본 연구는 빗물 저장조 시스템의 유출량 변화모의를 통해 지붕면 유출제어의 가능성을 확인하고, 설계조건에 적절한 저장조(retention tank)-펌프 용량 조합의 결정방안을 제시하였다. 저장조의 운전조건을 고려한 물수지 방정식을 이용해 서울지역의 강우특성에 따른 저류량 및 첨두유출유량 변화를 모의하고, 그 결과를 강우재현기간별 저장조 용량-첨두 유출량-펌프 배수량 관계곡선 (TPP 곡선) 으로 작성하였다. 100년 빈도 첨두 유출을 지선 하수관로의 설계기준인 5년 빈도 첨두유출까지 제어할 경우, 지붕면적 $100m^2$ 당 펌프배수 용량은 $0{\sim}25{\ell}$/분, 저장조 용량은 $8.5{\sim}10m^3$으로 결정되었다. 즉, 서울지역의 지붕면적 $100m^2$ 당 적절한 저장조+펌프 용량조합은 $10m^3+0{\ell}$/분${\sim}8.5m^3+25{\ell}$/분이라고 할 수 있다. TPP 곡선을 이용하여 설계조건에 적절한 빗물 저장조-펌프의 용량조합 방안을 알 수 있었으며, 이를 이용해 현장여건에 고려한 구체적인 용량을 결정할 수 있을 것이다.

Ion Pump Design for Improved Pumping Speed at Low Pressure

  • Even if ion pumps are widely and mostly used in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) conditions, virtually every existing ion pump has its maximum pumping speed around 1E-6 mbar (1E-4 Pa). Discharge intensity in the ion pump Penning cell is defined as the current divided by pressure (I/P). This quantity reflects the rate of cathode bombardment by ions, which underlies all of the various pumping mechanisms that occur in ion pumps (chemisorption on sputtered material, ion burial, etc.), and therefore is an indication of pumping speed. A study has been performed to evaluate the influence of magnetic fields and cell dimensions on the ion pump discharge intensity and consequently on the pumping speed at different pressures. As a result, a combination of parameters has been developed in order to design and build an ion pump with the pumping speed peak shifted towards lower pressures. Experimental results with several different test set-ups are presented and a prototype of a new 200 l/s ion pump with the maximum pumping speed in the 1E-8 mbar (1E-6 Pa) is described. A model of the system has also been developed to provide a framework for understanding the experimental observations.

제주시 해안경관을 고려한 해수인수관 관리방안 (Management of Water Pumping System in Coastal Area of Jeju City Based on Coastal Landscape)

  • Water management treatment of coastal region has been an important problem in Jeju city since the distributions of pipeline of the pumping system made a bad view in coastal region. To solve the problem, we observed the pipelines that are on the surface around the coastal region from Tapdong to Doduhang. From the observations, we found that Todong and Dodu areas were not unsightliness because the all pipelines were located in underground. However, the other areas, such area Yongdam, Handugi, Yongdam fishing village, had a serious problem for the coastal landscape view. To solve the problem, at we estimated coastal land color characteristics of Jeju city based on the observation of the pipelines. The estimated color panel shows that the green, blue and grey colors are a dominant factors of the Jeju coastal region. Based on the color panel, we proposed two methods, that is, one is a short time treatment, the other is a long time one. The short is based on the colour treatment, which is pipeline colour changing into surround natural one. The long time is the construction plan design method. Although the later method was very useful in Jeju island. However, it takes a lot of time and money. Therefore, in the situation, the short time is the better than the long time one.

  • Water supply facilities are recently getting larger according as domestic waterworks become multi regional water supply system. Large water supply facilities generally consist of the intake pumping station, water treatment station and water supply & distribution facilities. Although pumping stations and pipeline systems are used to pump up water, it often happens pipeline damage and flooding accident by the water hammer. As a result of this study, a pumping station is guaranteed by the computer simulation and field test analysis. Therefore these are contributed safety operation in pumping station through adjustment of the pumping station safety plan, air valve and valve closing time.

  • In this paper, we adapted BLDC motor to PV water pumping systems to maintain high efficiency in the wide speed area. Also, to design confidence we adapted the vector control that drive the maximum torque at each speed limit. We designed optimal gain value of current, speed and pressure PI controller. Inverter gate pulse used Space Vector PWM to reduce torque pulsation of BLDC motor. According to, it was improve general matters of high water storage tank method by direct water supply pumping method.

Multi-condition optimization and experimental verification of impeller for a marine centrifugal pump

  • In order to improve the performance of marine centrifugal pump, a centrifugal pump whose specific speed is 66.7 was selected for the research. Outlet diameter D2, outlet width b2, blade outlet angle β2, blade wrap φ and blade number z of the impeller were chosen as the variables. The maximum weighted average efficiency and the minimum vibration intensity at the base were calculated as objectives. Based on the Latin Hypercube method, the impeller was numerically optimized. The numerical results show that after optimization, the amplitudes of pressure fluctuation on the main frequency at different monitoring points decrease in varying degrees. The radial force on impeller decreases obviously under off-design flow rates and is more symmetrical during the operation of the pump. The variation of the axial force is relatively small, which has no obvious relationship with the rotating angle of the impeller. The energy performance and vibration experiment was performed for verifying. The test results show that the weighted average efficiency under 0.8Qd, 1.0Qd and 1.2Qd increases by 4.3% after optimization. The maximal vibration intensity at M1-M4 on the pump base reduced from 0.36 mm/s to 0.25 mm/s, decreasing by 30.5%. In addition, the vibration velocities of bracket in pump side and outlet flange also have significant reductions.

  • The heater-triggered switching system for charging of a high temperature superconductor(HTS) is prepared by simulation and investigated its characteristic by experiment. heater-triggered switching system consists of two nickel-chrome alloy heater, an electromagnet and YBCO bulk HTS. There are three important parameters to generate the pumping-current in this system. The timing sequential control of two heters and electromagnet is an important factor to generate pumping-current in the YBCO bulk HTS. Thermal analysis of the switching part in YBCO bulk HTS according to the heater input current was carried out. Electromagnet of 0.6[T] and DC heater input current of 2.3[A] were optimally derived. In this experiment, the maximum pumping current is reaches about 12[A].

  • An analytical study was carried out to investigate the performance of an oil pumping system of a variable speed compressor using a commercial CFD program. The simulations for the oil supplying system with the oil and air mixture were performed by varying compressor speed from 40 Hz to 90 Hz. Comparing the predicted with the measured data on the modified scroll compressor validated the simulation model. The predicted results were consistent with the test data with a maximum deviation of 12.8%. The oil flow rate significantly increased with a rise of compressor speed due to a higher oil flow rate from the swing pump and a greater centrifugal force on oil gallery.

  • During a reactor normal operation, a primary coolant was designed to remove the fission reaction heat of the reactor. When one pump is failure and the other pump shall supply the cooling water to cool the reduced power, it is necessary to estimate how much flow will be supplied to cool the reactor. We carried a flow net work analysis for two parallel pumping system as based on the piping net work of the primary cooling system in HANARO. As result, it is estimated that the flow of one pump increased than the rated flow of the pump below the cavitation critical flow.

지역냉방시스템에의 적용을 위한 마찰저항감소 첨가물 특성 연구 (Characteristics of Drag Reduction Additives in the Application of District Cooling System)

  • District heating and cooling systems offer highly efficient energy utilization and maintenance by centralizing heat management. More pumping power, however, is required because the water has to travel long distance from heat source to the users. In the present study, a trace of drag reduction additives is added to the District Cooling system to achieve a significant drag reduction and save pumping power. Water-soluble polymers, surfactants, and environment-friendly degradable polymers are used as effective drag reducing additives. Time dependent percent drag reductions are compared for various additive solutions at 100 wppm concentration for different water velocity. Without as an anionic surfactant, copolymer was most effective in percent drag reduction. It is found that there exists an optimal condition when copolymer is mixed with SDS. An environment-friendly degradable polymer, xanthan gum, is found to be a significant drag reduction additive. Ice slurry systems, can give less pressure drops compared with chilled water system for certain condtions. Drag reduction additives were also effective for the ice slurry system.
