  • In precision machinery industry, it's required with small size and low noise design to using in constant liquid delivery equipment. To accomplish it's purpose, we designed the check valve with rubber sheet of circle shapes as a possible assembly in pump body. The test equipment for piezoelectric pump was able to test pressure-flow property and output property of piezoelectric pump by variation(magnitude of voltage and frequency) of input power.

  • This paper presents in experimental study of the dynamic internal pressure within an oil hydraulic vane pump. The measurements of the dynamic internal pressures near the vane of a pressure balance type of an oil hydraulic vane pump with intravanes has been made to provide the essential information for the study of the pump dynamics and control, the pump design and the analysis of tribological problems in the sliding components. The influences of the discharge pressure and rotating speed of the vane on the dynamic pressure in four chambers surrounding a vane have been investigated. The results indicate that the surge pressures of the chambers at the instant moment of discharge and closure are affected by the rotating speed. The pressure in the intravane chamber maintains almost constant values, which remarkably effects the pulsating discharge pressure.

  • SMART Pilot is a multipurpose small capacity integral type reactor. Main coolant pump (MCP) of SMART Pilot is a canned-motor-type axial pump to circulate the primary coolant between nuclear fuel and steam generator in the primary system. The reactor is designed to operate under condition of $310^{\circ}C$ and 14.7MPa. Thus MCP has to be tested under same operating condition as reactor design condition to verify its performance and safety. In present wort a test apparatus to simulate real operating situations of the reactor has been designed and constructed to test MCP. And then functional tests, performance tests, and endurance tests have been carried out upon a prototype MCP. Canned motor characteristics, homologous head/torque curves, coast-down curves, NPSH curves and lift-time performance variations were obtained from the qualification test as well as hydraulic performance characteristics of MCP.

우주환경모사기용 진공배기시스템 교체

  • 인공위성이 임무를 수행하는 우주환경은 지상 환경과 달리 고진공 및 극저온의 극한환경으로 지상에서는 제대로 작동하는 것으로 관찰되더라도 우주환경에서는 예상하지 못한 기능장애를 일으켜 위성의 성능에 치명적인 영향을 미치기도 한다. 이에 10-5 torr 이하의 고진공과 -180$^{\circ}C$ 이하의 극저온 환경을지상에서 모사하여 위성체의 안정성 및 신뢰성을 시험한다. 시험에는 열진공챔버라고 불리는 우주환경모사기가 사용이 되며, 기본적으로 챔버 내부 진공형성이 중요하다. 우주환경의 모사를 위해 먼저 저진공펌프로 10-2 Torr 의 저진공을 형성한 후 Turbo-molecular pump 및 Cryopump를 이용하여 10-5 Torr 이하의 고진공을 형성하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 기존 우주환경모사기에 부착된 oil type rotary pump 및 구형 turbo-molecular pump의 교체 과정을 기술한다. 특히, 저진공펌프의 경우는 챔버 내부로의 oil 역류로 인한 오염 문제를 방지하기 위하여 dry type의 펌프가 설치되었다.

  • In the study, the inner flow characteristics were analyzed by modifying the inner design parameter of the vane-type vacuum pump. The effect of pressure generated by the inner flow of pump on the rotor and vane was analyzed. The design parameter was analyzed using the angle variation of tilting and rotation of the vane. MRF was used for the analysis conducted using a virtual condition where the rotor and vane are rotated. The pressure gained from the load of the rotor and vane in the flow analysis is used for the structure analysis. Based on the results, the effect of variable vane design was revealed in structural strength. The effect of centrifugal and friction force generated during pump operation on structural strength was also analyzed.

Simulation of a two-stage absorption heat pump cycle using treated sewage (하수처리수 이용 흡수식 열펌프 사이클의 시뮬레이션)

  • This paper concerns the study of a two-stage absorption heat pump cycle to utilize treated sewage. This two-stage cycle consists of coupling double-effect with parallel or series flow type and single effect cycle so that the first stage absorber and condenser produces hot water to evaporate refrigerant in the evaporator of the second stage. The effects of operating variables such as absorber temperature on the coefficient of performance have been studied for two-stage absorption heat pump cycle. The working fluid is lithium bromide and water solution. The efficiency of the two-stage absorption heat pump cycle has been studied and simulation results show that higher coefficient of performance could be obtained for the first stage with parallel flow type. The optimum ratio of solution distribution can be shown by considering the COP, the crystallization of solution and the generator temperature.

Design and performance analysis of water-to-air heat pump system using double-tube heat exchanger (이중관 열교환기를 사용한 물 대 공기 열펌프 시스템의 설계와 성능해석)

  • The water-to-air heat pump system requires relatively lower energy consumption and less installation space. The heat exchangers used for this system are the finned-tube type for the indoor unit and the double-tube type for the outdoor unit. Mathematical models for this system are developed and programmed in computer. Experimental data from various conditions are obtained and compared with calculated values from the computer simulation program. Differences of cooling capacity and COP are 1.25% and 0.47%, and those of heating capacity and COP are 0.51% and 0.13%, respectively. Simulation results are in good agreement with test results. Therefore, the developed program is effectively used for the design and the performance prediction of water-to-air heat pump system.

  • In this study, the authors carried out experiments and numerical simulations in order to clarify the pressure pulsation characteristics in multiple-delivery rotating-cam and stationary-cylinder type radial piston pumps. Also, a tee filter was applied to the pump in order to mitigate the pressure pulsation. Through the experiments and simulations, it was known that pressure pulsation with a magnitude higher than 40% of the mean load pressure could occur in the pump used in the experiments. Moreover, it was confirmed that a tee filter designed in this study could effectively mitigate the pressure pulsation.

  • In this study, a new design of an one-body type of an unbalanced-fixed- displacement type vane pump combined with an induction type electric motor was suggested. By the application of the new design scheme, it was possible to reduce the number of parts of the pump system and to cut down the volume of power package than that of already-used products. The case in this study enabled efficient heat transfer and electricity insulation of hydraulic fluid. Thus oil moves through the inside of the package for cooling and returns to the reservoir. Because of this design, it was difficult to measure the shaft-input torque. Therefore the package overall efficiency in the paper was evaluated with a ratio of hydraulic power and electric power.

  • A system simulation program was developed for a multi-type inverter heat pump. Electronic expansion valve(EEV) was used to extend the capacity modulating range of the heat pump as expansion device. The program was also developed to calculate actual system performance with the building load variation with climate during a year. The performance variation of a multi-type hat pump with two EEV and an inverter compressor was simulated with compressor speed, capacity, and flow area of the EEV. As a result, the optimum operating frequency of the compressor and openings of the expansion device were decided at a given load. As compressor speed increased, he capacity of heat pump increased, the capacity of heat pump increased. Therefore flow area of EEV should be adjusted to have wide openness. Thus the coefficient of performance(COP) of the heat pump decreased due to increasement of compressor power input. The maximum COP point at a given load was decided according to the compressor speed. And under the given specific compressor speed and the load, the optimum openings point of EEV was also decided. Although the total load of indoor units was constant, the operating frequency increased as the fraction of load in a room increased. Finally ad the compressor power input increased, the coefficient of performance decreased.
