  • The purpose of simple abdomen erect projection is to see the fluid level which indicates gastrointestinal ileus or free air due to perforation. we do not have to insist on low kVp technique in simple abdomen erect position as long as we can detect the fluid level and free air shadow. Therefore, the author tried to decrease patient dose by high kVp technique and to improve the image quality due to motion artifact by reduction of exposure time. [Methods] Experiment 1. * screen/film SRO1000/HRH * exposure factor : $140\;kvp{\pm}5\;kv$ with added filters, 200 mA, 0.01 sec * phantom : Acryles : 15.0 cm(equivalent to 17 cm body thickness) 17.5 cm(equivalent to 21 cm body thickness) 20.0 cm (equivalent to 25 cm body thickness) With the exposure factor for same film density($D=0.8{\pm}0.1$) and with the materials above, we tried to find out entrance skin dose and gonad dose for both male and female. Experiment 2. Burger's phantom radiography were checked to see whether there was any change of image quality according to the kVp and the added filters. Experiment 3. Using rotating meter(self made), we examined the motion artifact and the exposure time limitation. [Results and conculution] 1. Using high voltage technique of 140 kVp with added filter, Skin dose, testicle dose and ovary dose decrease to 89.3%, 47% and 71.4% respectively compare to 70 kVp technique, 2. No great changes of Burger's phantom image has detected as from 70 kVp to 140 kVp and the air hole size of Burger's phantom over 0.028 cc(Diameter 3 mm, hight 4 mm) can be distinghished. 3. 0.01 sec(1 pulse) exposure time is possible in the single phase full wave rectification that why we can quitely reduce the unsharness caused by patient's movement.

  • Switching an elementary excitation by injecting a single carrier would offer the exciting opportunity for the ultra-high data storage technologies. However, there has been no methodology available to investigate the interaction of low energy discrete carriers with nano-structures. In order to map out the spatial dependency of such single carrier level interactions, we developed a pulse-and-probe algorithm, combining with low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy. The new tool, which we call single carrier spectroscopy, allows us to track the interaction with the target macrostructure with tunneling carriers on a single carrier basis. Using this tool, we demonstrate that it is possible not only to locally write and erase individual bi-solitons, reliably and reversibly, but also to track of creation yields of single and multiple bi-solitons. Bi-solitons are pairs of solitons that are elementary out-of-phase excitations on anti-ferromagnetically ordered pseudo-spin system of Si dimers on Si(001)-c(42) surfaces. We found that at low energy tunneling the single bisoliton creation mechanism is not correlated with the number of carriers tunneling, but with the production of a potential hole under the tip. An electric field at the surface determines the density of the local charge density under the tip, and band-bending. However a rapid, dynamic change of a field produces a potential hole that can be filled by energetic carriers, and the amount of energy released during filling process is responsible for the creation of bi-solitons. Our model based on the field-induced local hole gives excellent explanation for bi-soliton yield behaviors. Scanning tunneling spectroscopy data supports the existence of such a potential hole. The mechanism also explains the site-dependency of bi-soliton yields, which is highest at the trough, not on the dimer rows. Our study demonstrates that we can manipulate not just single atoms and molecules, but also single pseudo-spin excitations as well.

  • The objective is to establish the standard of criteria for differential diagnosis of signs and symptoms. This study selected signs and symptoms related to heart which stands for Fire(火) as a kind of five phase(五行). Eleven experts was asked to evaluate the adequateness of criteria which was developed by Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine(KIOM) and to suggest the amendment of them. To implement the study, we used the questionnaire which asks about the diagnosis criteria for an insufficiency of the heart-qi(心氣虛證), deficiency of the heart blood(心血氣證), deficiency of the heart-yin(心陰虛證), insufficiency of the heart-yang(心陽虛證), exuberant fire due to hyperactivity of the heart(心火亢盛證), stagnation of the heart blood(心血瘀阻證), heart disturbed by phlegm-fire(痰火擾心證), attack of the heart by retainedfluid(水氣凌心證). Every criteria consists of primary symptoms, secondary symptoms, tongue findings. and pulse findings. In perspectives of the classification of patterns for signs and symptoms and criteria for diagnosis, the result shows that the previous standard doesn't have so many problem. So many of experts were agree with the criteria which was suggested but the trend is that they use, in their actual practice, less than the criteria. Additionally, they pointed that every element in a criterion should have the different weight value, criteria for the overlapped pattern should be added, and, in future, criteria which are based on clinical investigation should be established.

  • To establish a network environment where multiple wireless personal area networks(WPAN) are simultaneously operating in the same area, we need to consider the effects of inter-device interference. The extent of interference effect from neighboring frequency channel interferer may be different depending on the modulation types that are used for constructing the wireless network. If a modulation scheme with high spectral side lobes is used, the spatial separation between devices plays a major role in determining the amount of interference from neighboring frequency channel interferer. In this paper, we investigate the effect of inter-device interference in the overlapped raised cosine offset quadrature-quadrature phase shift keying (ORC-$OQ^2PSK$) modulation based WPAN. By comparing the results with those of GFSK modulation based WPAN, we verify the feasibility of ORC-$OQ^2PSK$ based WPAN.

  • In general, a Doppler radar can measure only the velocity of a moving target. To measure the distance of a moving target, it is necessary to use a frequency-modulated continuous wave or pulse radar. However, the latter are very complex in terms of both hardware as well as signal processing. Moreover, the requirement of wide bandwidth necessitates the use of millimeter-wave frequency bands of 24 GHz and 77 GHz. Recently, a new kind of Doppler radar using multitone frequency has been studied to sense the distance of moving targets in addition to their speed. In this study, we show that distance sensing of moving targets is possible by adjusting only the frequency of a 2.4 GHz Doppler radar with low cost phase lock loop. In particular, we show that distance can be sensed using only alternating current information without direct current offset information. The proposed technology satisfies the Korean local standard for low power radio equipment for moving target identification in the 2.4 GHz frequency band, and enables multiple long-range sensing and radio-frequency identification applications.

  • SOQPSK-TG is a modulated signal for aircraft telemetry with excellent frequency efficiency and power efficiency. In this paper, the phase waveform of the partial response SOQPSK-TG modulation is linearly approximated and modeled as a full response double duobinary SOQPSK (SOQPSK-DD) signal. And using the XTCQM method and the Laurent decomposition method, the SOQPSK-DD signal was approximated as OQPSK having linear pulse waveforms, and the results of the two methods were proved to be the same. In addition, it was confirmed that the Laurent decomposition waveform of the SOQPSK-DD signal approximates the Laurent decomposition waveform of the original SOQPSK-TG signal. And it was shown that the decision feedback IQ-detector, which applied the Laurent decomposition waveform of SOQPSK-DD to the detection filter, exhibits almost the same performance even with a simpler waveform than before.

  • In order to synchronize a remote system time to the reference time like Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), it is required to compare the time difference between the two clocks. GNSS Precise Point Positioning (PPP) is one of the most general geodetic positioning methods and can be used for time and frequency transfer applications which require more precise time comparison performance than GNSS code. However, the PPP technique has a main drawback of day-boundary discontinuity which comes from the PPP model that the code measurements are applied to resolve the floating carrier-phase ambiguities. The Integer PPP (IPPP) technique is one of the methods which has been studied to compensate the day-boundary discontinuities exited in the conventional PPP. In this paper, we investigate the time and frequency capabilities of PPP and IPPP by using the measurement data obtained from two time transfer receivers which are closely located and using common reference 1 Pulse Per Second (PPS) and RF signals. From the experiment, it is investigated that the IPPP method can effectively compensate the day-boundary discontinuities without producing frequency offset. However, the PPP method can generating frequency offset which can severely degrade the time comparison performance with long-term period data.

  • A two-dimensional optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) encoder/decoder, which is composed of add/drop filters and all-pass filters for delay operation, is proposed. An example design is presented, and its feasibility is illustrated through numerical simulations. The chip area of the proposed OCDMA encoder/decoder could be about one-third that of a previous OCDMA device employing delay waveguides. Its performance is numerically investigated using the transfer-matrix method combined with the fast Fourier transform. The autocorrelation peak level over the maximum cross-correlation level for incorrect wavelength hopping and spectral phase code combinations is greater than 3 at the center of the correctly decoded pulse, which assures a bit error rate lower than 10-3, corresponding to the forward error-correction limit.

  • A pressure sensor that mimics the sensing ability of human skin has emerged as high-profile technology because it shows remarkable applications in numerous fields such as robotics, human health monitoring, and artificial prosthetics. Whereas recent pressure sensors have achieved high sensitivity similar to that of human skin, they still show limited detection bandwidth. Moreover, once these e-skin are fabricated, their sensitivity and stiffness are fixed; therefore, they can be used for only limited applications. Our study proposes a new adaptive pressure sensor built with uniform gallium microdroplet-elastomer composite. Based on the phase transition of gallium microdroplets, the proposed sensor undergoes mode transformation, enabling it to have a higher sensitivity and wider detection bandwidth compared with those of human skin. In addition, we succeeded in extending a single adaptive pressure sensor to sensor arrays based on its high uniformity, reproducibility, and large-scale manufacturability. Finally, we designed an adaptive e-skin with the sensor array and demonstrated its applications on health monitoring tasks including blood pulse and body weight measurements.

  • The results of the modification of metal materials treated by high temperature pulst:d plasma fluxes (HTlPPF) with a specific power of incident flux changing in the $(3...100)10^5{]\;}W/cm^2$ range and a pulse duration lying from 15 to $50{\;}\mu\textrm{s}$ have been presented. The results of HTPPF action were studied on the stainless steels of 18Cr-l0Ni, 16Cr- 15Ni, 13Cr-2Mo types; on the structural carbon steels of (13...35)Cr, St. 3, St. 20, St. 45 types; on the tool steels of U8, 65G, ShHI5 types, and others; on nickel and high nickel alloy of 20Cr-45Ni type; on zirconium- and vanadium-base alloys and other materials. The microstructure and properties (mechanical, tribological, erosion, and other properties) of modified materials and surface alloying of metals exposed to HTPPF action have been investigated. It was found that the modification of materials by HTPPF resulted in a simultaneous increase of several properties of the treated articles: microhardness of the surface and layers of 40...60 $\mu\textrm{m}$ in depth, tribological characteristics (friction coefficient, wear resistance), mechanical properties ({\sigma_y}, {\;}{\sigma_{0.2}}.{\;}{\sigma_r}) on retention of the initial plasticity ($\delta$), corrosion resistance, radistanation erosion under ion irradiation, and others. The determining factor of the changes observed is the structural-phase modification of the near-surface layers, in particular, the formation of the fine cellular structure in the near-surface layers at a depth of $20{\;}{\mu\textrm{m}}$ with dimension of cells changing in the range from 0.1 to $1., 5{\;}\mu\textrm{m}$, depending on the kind of material, its preliminary treatment, and the parameters of plasma fluxes. The remits obtained have shown the possibility of purposeful surface alloying of metals exposed to HTPPF action over a depth up to 20...45 $\mu\textrm{m}$ and the concentration of alloying element (Ni, Cr, V) up to 20 wt.%. Possible industrial brunches for using the treatment have been also considered, as well as some results on modifying the serial industrial articles by HTPPF.
