Numerical Analysis of the Thermodynamic Stability of Aqueous Cu-Ni-S-H2O System for the Preparation of Thin Copper-Nickel Multi-nano-Layers by Using Pulse Electro-forming

  • Thermodynamic solution stability of aqueous copper-nickel-sulfur system was numerically analyzed to produce thin copper-nickel nano-multi-layers by pulse electro-forming. The main program for numerical analysis was written by C# language, which was composed of the data input, numerical calculation, decision and plotting sub-programs. From the thermodynamic data of 32-feasible phases of the Cu-Ni-S-H2O system, the phase stability diagram of the Cu-Ni-S-H2O system was constructed. It revealed the electro-forming condition of the copper and the nickel was VSHE<0.35 for copper deposition, VSHE<-0.24 for nickel deposition, pH=1.0 and 25℃ in the sulfide bath. The coppernickel multi-layers was well produced by electro-forming in the sulfide bath with two-wave pulse voltages of - 0.2VSHE, -0.5 mA/cm2, and 25 seconds for copper deposition and -1.7 VSHE, -50 mA/cm2 and 80 seconds for nickel deposition, at pH=1.0 and 25℃. From TEM and EDX analysis the Cu-Ni multi-layers with about 5 ㎛ thick had the copper-rich phase of about 20 nm in thick and the nickel rich phase of about 25 nm in thick, respectively.

  • Invar is a compound metal of Fe-Ni system and contain 36% Ni. The most distinction characteristic of Invar is the coefficient of thermal expansion is 1.0 10$^{-6}$ /$^{\circ}C$. That is a tenth of general steel material. This low thermal expansion characteristic of Invar is applied to the missile, aircraft, monitor CRT and frontier display's shadow mask such as FED and OLED. The usage of the Invar shadow mask for display is increasing due to the requirement of larger size and flatness monitor. The Invar shadow mask is machined by two ways electro-forming and laser now. However the electro-forming takes a too long time and the laser machining is accompanied with Burr. In this study, PEMM(pulse electrochemical micro machining) is conducted to machine the micro hole to the Invar and 80${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ hole was machined.

전열화학포용 2.4MJ 펄스 파워 전원의 제어기 설계 (The Controller Design of a 2.4MJ Pulse Power Supply for a Electro-Thermal-Chemical Gun)

  • The key issues in high power, high energy applications such as electromagnetic launchers include safety, reliability, flexibility, efficiency, compactness, and cost. To explore some of the issues, a control scheme for a large current wave-forming was designed, built and experimentally verified using a 2.4MJ pulse power system (PPS). The PPS was made up of eight capacitors bank unit, each containing six capacitors connected in parallel. Therefore there were 48 capacitors in total, with ratings of 22kV and 50kJ each. Each unit is charged through a charging switch that is operated by air pressure. For discharging each unit has a triggered vacuum switch (TVS) with ratings of 200kA and 250kV. Hence, flexibility of a large current wave-forming can be obtained by controlling the charging voltage and the discharging times. The whole control system includes a personal computer(PC), RS232 and RS485 pseudo converter, electric/optical signal converters and eight 80C196KC micro-controller based capacitor-bank module(CBM) controllers. Hence, the PC based controller can set the capacitor charging voltages and the TVS trigger timings of each CBM controller for the current wave-forming. It also monitors and records the system status data. We illustrated that our control scheme was able to generate the large current pulse flexibly and safely by experiments. The our control scheme minimize the use of optical cables without reducing EMI noise immunity and reliability, this is resulting in cost reduction. Also, the reliability was increased by isolating ground doubly, it reduced drastically the interference of the large voltage pulse induced by the large current pulse. This paper contains the complete control scheme and details of each subsystem unit.

전자기 성형법에 대하여

  • 전자기 성형이란 고강도의 자기장을 이용하여 고속(15∼300m/s)으로 금속을 성형하는 기술이다. 즉, 자계가 갖는 에너지를 직접 금속의 성형에 이용하는 성형법으로 일반적으로 고속도 가공 법(explosive, electro-hydraulic, pneumatic-mechanical, electro-magnetic pulse forming)이라 불리는 가공 기술의 한 가지이다. 전자기 성형 기술은 1960년경 미국에서 개발 및 실용화로의 노력이 경주되어 산업적, 이론적으로 많은 발전이 있었고 일본에서도 1970년 초반에 이 분야의 연구가 시작하여 현재 활발히 연구되고 있는데, 금속의 성형, 체결, 조립 등의 작업에 이용되어 자동차 산업, 항공산업, 전기산업과 병기산업 등에서 많이 이용되고 있다. 한편 우리나라에서는 아직 연구발표된 사례가 없는 실정인데, 몇몇 업체 및 연구소에서 성형 장비를 도입하고 연구를 시작하려는 시점에 있으므로 본 글에서 그 성형 원리 및 가공 특성에 대해 소개한다.

  • In this paper, the new technology and R&D status is presented, which accelerates the projectile using the electrical energy to overcome the limit of the conventional gun. The ETC (electro_thermal_chemical) gun, one kind of electric guns, seems to be the highly probable candidate as the next generation gun. The high density power supply and the forming and control of the current pulse are required to develop the ETC gun. And, the interior ballistics considered the mechanism of ETC gun must to be studied.

  • In order to optimize the operational characteristics of single elliptical pulsed Nd:YAG laser designed and fabricator compactly, it is very important to design the resonator shape and the PFN(Pulse Forming Network) suitably. We have been shown that the EMTP(Electro-Magnetic Transient Program) simulation. was used effectively in designing PFN. And Next, we have been compared current pulse width, laser beam profile and damping parameter with laser output energy. In this paper, we have suggested the optimalization of PFN design and the best operational condition.
