Heat transfer oils are used in applications such as chemical plant heating systems, refinery heat exchange systems, certain gas processes, injection molding systems, and pulp and paper processing. These oils are extremely stable and resistant to thermal and oxidative degradation. In the event of a spill or accidental release of heat transfer oils, it can be ignited easily when there is an ignition source. This study discusses the status of safety management through the actual status of the heat transfer oils to prevent fire and explosion accidents in industries for process safety management. The actual status of the heat transfer oils in process system of industries surveyed by a questionnaire developed. The results of this study can be used to help establishment of safety management to prevent fire and explosion accidents, such as the management of heat transfer oils, safe operation and maintenance in heat transfer oil processes.

X-linked dominant hypophosphataemic rickets(XLHR) is a hereditary disease generally transmitted as an X-linked dominant trait. Oral manifestations include poorly mineralized dentin, enlarged pulp chambers and root canals, early tooth loss. Also, spontaneous dental abscesses could occur in the absence of a history of trauma or caries. This report describes the clinical finding and dental treatment of a child, who came to the hospital for treatment caries but was refered to pediatrics because the child showed clinically short of status, bow-leg and radiographically enlarged pulp chamber and canal, there as diagnosed as XLHR. After the diagnosis, 13 years follow-up and treatment were performed.

Dental injuries with crown fracture occur frequently, especially in young patient Reattachment of the crown fragment has been shown to yield good esthetic results in that original tooth anatomy is restored with a material that abrades at a rate indntical to that of the adjacent tooth substance and at the same time permits continual monitoring of pulpal status through the fragment. Case 1 was complicated crown fracture with pin-point bleed ing, that was treated by direct pulp capping with calcium hydroxide and fragment reattachment. Case 2 was in trusive luxation with complicated crown fracture and was treated by pulp treatment and fragment reattachment. Case 3 was uncomplicated crown fracture, and fracture line involved slightly biologic width and treated by reattachment of the crown fragment.

This study was performed to identify the current status of work environment management and to provide appropriate recommendations for small scale industry with less than 5 workers from September, 2000 to October, 2000 in Seoul city and Gyoung-gi province. The 211 companies were surveyed by checklist included the elements of management of work environment, hazardous chemicals, MSDS, personal protective equipment, and ventilation system. The proportion of metal products manufacturing and printing industries are 25.6 % and 22.3%, respectively. The daily working hours in printing industry is longer than others. The industries that produce potentially hazardous agents, such as noise, dust, metal, organic solvents, radiation and chemical material are pulp, plating, machinery, and printing, respectively. In above industries, only 2.8 % of those recognised and had MSDS. The proportion of companies providing fire extinguishers, safety showers are found to be 13.3 %, 7.1 %, respectively. Only 24.2 % of companies provided personal protective equipment to the workers. The ventilation system was operated in most of companies. But local exhaust ventilation system is provided to 22.3 % of those, also had not been annually inspected. This study showed that the current status of occupational safety and health was not appropriate for workers in small scale industries. It is suggested that annual physical examination have to be performed, MSDS usage must become widespread, and employer and emplyees in small scale industry should be educated for the treatment and storage of hazardous chemicals to improve the occupational safety and health of the working environment. also, regulatory standard has to be applied to local exhaust ventilation system in small scale industry to improve the working condition.

Familial hypophosphatemia is the most common hereditary rickets which occur hypophosphatemia as the calcium concentration in the blood serum is normal but the phosphate concentration in the blood serum decreases by dysfunction of renaltubular phosphorus reabsorption. In spite of the low concentration of phosphate in the blood serum discharge of phosphate by urine and alkaline phosphatase increases remarkably. It is a sex-linked and normally male show severe clinical symptoms than female. This kind of familial hypophosphatemia patients show frontal bossing, square head, short of status for general finding, and for dental finding, thinning of limina dura and dental follicle, thin and hypoplastic enamel, enlarged pulp chamber and canal, high occurance rate of periapical and periodontal abscess and unknown cause of rarefying osteitis. This case is to report about the clinical finging and dental treatment of a child patient, who came to the hospital for treatment of deciduous teeth caries but was refered to pediatrics because the child showed clinically short of status, bow-leg and radiographically enlarged pulp chamber and canal, there as diagnosed as familial hypophosphatemia.

Sedative method and its effect are affected by diverse variables: dosage and intake method of drug, weight, gender, patient compliance, sleeping hours prior to procedure, treatment hours, health status, type of used drugs are the factors. This study is conducted with empirical observation that shorter the sleeping hours before the day of chloral hydrate sedation, the effectiveness is larger; and therefore to actually recognize the correlation between chloral hydrate/hydroxyzine sedation and sleeping hours of child patient prior to sedation. The subjects were those children whose sleeping hours were similar to each other at the ages ranging from 2 to 5 years old totaling 37 children. Total 11 of them received pulp treatment. Sedative effect was evaluated by the same assessor with Houpt's rating scale. Sedative effect in relation with prior day's sleeping hours evaluated with simple regression analysis. Sedative effect in relation with pulp treatment was analyzed with independent t-test. Sleeping hours prior to sedation and sedation effect have negative correlation. No significant correlation is found between pulp treatment and sedation effect(p>0.05).

This research investigates into overall oral health status of adolescent girl inmates in a juvenile detention facility and ordinary school students in the same age range of 11 to 18 years old and compares the results focusing on the difference between the two groups. The last 5 years dental records for girl inmates in Juvenile detention facility and for students who have visited the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Ajou University Hospital was colleted and analyzed. The restorative treatments took up the greatest part in their history of treatments. While the percentage of extractions of permanent teeth due to dental caries had been gradually increased, in Juvenile detention facility students, throughout the transition period from middle school to high school, in dental hospital patients, the phenomenon of the same kind has hardly been detected. After that record analysis, oral examination for Juvenile detention facility students and dental hospital patients was conducted. DMFT index for dental hospital patients are 4.15, whereas, the value for Juvenile detention facility students are as twice as high to be 7.53.

The intense drought affecting olive production in Northern Chile underscores the need to research non-traditional irrigation strategies to obtain the best crop performance. Accordingly, this study aimed to obtain preliminary data to guide future research on this topic. Different water replenishment levels on crop evapotranspiration ($ET_c$ ; 13.5, 27.0, 40.5, and 54%) were established in a young orchard, cv. Arbequina, from the end of fruit drop (EFD) to full bloom in the next season. We evaluated the influence of plant water status (${\Psi}_{stem}$ ) and crop load, considered as function of fruit number divided by trunk cross-sectional area, on reproductive and productive variables using multiple linear regressions. Our results show that crop load and ${\Psi}_{stem}$ measured from EFD to harvest affected yield components. Nevertheless, ${\Psi}_{stem}$ had the strongest influence on fruit size, pulp development, oil accumulation, and yield. Oil content and yield were reduced by 54% and 50% for each MPa, respectively, from ${\Psi}_{stem\;EFD-H}$ -1.8 MPa, an effect that intensified as crop load increased. During the period of flower development (September-November), the number of flowers per inflorescence and percentage of perfect flowers were reduced when ${\Psi}_{stem}$ was less than -2.0 MPa. These preliminary results showed that bud differentiation, inflorescence and flower formation are highly sensitive to water deficit.

Background: Dental evaluation and protection are important for preventing traumatic dental injuries when patients are under general anesthesia. The objective of the present study was to develop a questionnaire based on dentition-related risk factors that could serve as a valuable tool for dental evaluation and documentation. Methods: We developed a questionnaire for dental evaluation before administration of general anesthesia, investigated the association between patient-and-dentist responses and mouthguard fabrication, and assessed response agreement between 100 patients. Results: Protective mouthguards were fabricated for 27 patients who were identified as having a high risk of dental injury. There was a strong association between dentists' responses and mouthguard fabrication, depending on the general oral health status, use of ceramic prosthesis, presence of masticatory pain related to periodontal diseases, gingival edema, and implants (P < 0.05). Response agreement between patients and dentists for items related to dental pain, loss of dental pulp vitality, root canal therapy, dental trauma, aesthetic prosthesis, tooth mobility, and implant prosthesis was high (Cohen's kappa coefficient κ ≥ 0.6). Conclusions: A high agreement was observed between patient-dentist responses and a strong association with mouthguard fabrication for items pertaining to ceramic prosthesis, masticatory pain, and dental implants. Patients with a "yes" response to these items are recommended to undergo a dental evaluation and use a dental protective device while under general anesthesia.

A traumatically intruded tooth is one that is forcefully and abruptly dispaced from its position into the surrounding alveolar bone. Although intrusion of permanent teeth is infrequent, the sequelae compromise the longevity of the tooth and often include pulp necrosis, internal and external root resorption, rupture of periodontal ligament and loss of marginal bone. The purpose of this study was to examine three common management techniques for traumatic intrusion, observation for re-eruption, surgical repositioning & fixation and orthodontic extrusion. In the recent, the accepted treatment was to allow the permanent teeth to reerupt spontaneously for 6-8 weeks. If this did not occur, orthodontic traction was applied. The pulpal status of the teeth was monitored and either calcium hydroxide therapy or conventional endodontics was instituted following pulpal necrosis depending on the maturity of the root end. Pulpectomy and a calcium hydroxide filling were also the treatment of choice if there was evidence of internal or external root resorption. This will reduce the chance of root resorption and provide a period of monitoring prior to a definitive root canal filling.
