Objective : Cosmetic surgery, as a psychosocial intervention, is unique in that its foundation rests solely on the individual motivations, internal or external, of the patient We investigated the ego-identity in women who seek double eyelid operation, to understand one aspect of internal motivation for cosmetic surgery. Methods : Subjects of this study were 47 young women, visited to plastic surgery clinics in Kwangju from June 1993 to October 1993, and 58 women who did not want double eyelid operation were chosen as controls. Each subject's ego-identity was scored using Dignan's ego-identity scale. Results : The total and stability subscale's scores of ego-identity of double eyelid operation group were significantly lower than those of control group. Conclusion : More psychosocial research on the ego-identify of patients seeking double eyelid operation is required to understand the psychological motives for requesting surgery.

This is a basic study designed to discover the most comfortable thermal environment for Korean residences. The purpose of the research is to observe and measure the summer thermal environment in Korean urban detached single family houses and apartments by utilising proposed evaluation standards and methods. The technique used involves the measurement of environmental elements, such as indoor temperature, relative humidity and radiant temperature both in detached single family houses and apartments. Also, in order to understand the resident's thermal comfort response. ASHRAE' thermal sensation 9th level, indoor temperature 5th level, and thermal discomfort 4th level in the psycho-physical voting scale (1972) was used. In conclusion, among Korean urban residences, detached single family houses provided a more stable thermal environment than apartments, as shown by physical psychological evaluations. The possible reason for such stability in detached single family houses may be the usage of reinforced concrete structures which maintain consistent temperatures.

This report presents a case of adolescent patient who had multiple impacted teeth and no systemic disease, and was treated with removable and fixed orthodontic appliances. The results obtained through these cases were summarized as follows : 1. Even in the case without systemic disease, there can be the delayed eruption of multiple teeth 2. If the root formation is not completed, root have no excessive curvature, axial inclination of the tooth is not excessive, and there is eruption space, the tooth can be induced to normal occlusion. 3. Since esthetically proper occlusion and dentition was acquired by recovery of the impacted teeth to normal occlusion, the prosthodontic treatment after extraction of the impacted teeth was less needed. 4. This treatment brought psychological stability to pubertal patient who was interested in his facial profile.

The propose of this study is to grasp actual status and needs of leisure of middle age. The questionnaire survey is used, the subjects are middle age from 40${\sim}$50's living in big city. The questionnaire consists of leisure, leisure actual condition, leisure satisfaction and need. Frequency, percent, average, x2-test, t-test and ANOVA are used for data analysis. The results of this study are as following; First, leisure is necessary to elevate Quality of life in terms of spiritual , psychological stability and physical health. Second, subjects have more leisure time in weekend the characteristics of leisure time are scattered in woman. Third, in the future the subjects wish to have leisure with family. Therefore, it is necessary to develop leisure program and facilities to promote family leisure. Fourth, the subjects are not satisfied with current leisure for unsufficiency of leisure time, cost, facility and program. Fifth, present leisure behavior characteristics are restrictive and passive. In the near future, however, they showed desire to engage in divers forms of leisure including active and participant leisure.

Objective : The purpose of this case is to report the improvement of a patient with acute paralytic ileus with past history of mild depressive episode after acupuncture therapy and herbal medicine. Methods : We treated the patient, who had acute abdominal pain and were diagnosed as paralytic ileus, with acupuncture, herbal medicine and manipulation therapy. We observed changes of chief symptoms and abdominal states. Results : We treated the patient who had severe abdominal pain, constipation and anorexia caused by acute paralytic ileus. For about one month of the treatment, we had the improvement of the symptoms. Conclusions : This study suggests that Conservative korean medical treatment might be useful for abdominal pain caused by acute paralytic ileus, and make a patient feel psychological stability.

The firms aim to acquire services and costs advantage from logistics outsourcing strategy. But it is very important to select optimum service provider. A checklist of the criteria for the evaluation of service providers follows : service quality, low cost, logistics information system, service network, financial stability, investments in plant and equipment, management attitude and lookout for the future strategic fit, cultural and psychological barriers etc. Also, a 8-step implement of logistics outsourcing strategy will be of help for maximizing benefits of logistics outsourcing. It follows : 1-step : logistics environment analysis, 2-step : check service provider availability, 3-step : logistics outsourcing determinant analysis, 4-step : select of optimum service provider, 5-step : contract with optimum service provider, 6-step : identify of remaining barriers, 7-step : performance of logistics outsourcing, 8-step : evaluation.

This study aims to offer psychological stability and pleasure by reducing noise perception using appropriate visual information which fit to the situation and useful data for the soundscape design. The results can be summarized as follows; 1) In the Loudness evaluation of the visual information with green colored scenary showed lower evaluation rather than the other colors. 2) With the Green and Blue colored scenary with road traffic and shopping street alongside the road, lower perception of road traffic noise was showed. 3) With the White and Red scenary higher evaluation was showed than the original sound, but with the Green colored scenary lower evaluation was showed than the standard sound.

The purpose of this study was to invesitigate the residential satisfaction of households living in super-high rise apartment. The questionnarles were collected from 244 residents living in super-high rise apartment above 20 stories located in Ulsan. Used statistical techniques were frequency, one-way ANOVA. The major findings were as follows: 1) Although the respondents were dissatisfied with super-high rise apartments, they chose present dwelling due to public transportation, easy access to work, and other community facilities. 2) Households who have more educated husband and wife and younger child were less satisfied with current dwelling. 3) The attrative features of super-high rise apartment were interior facilities, exterior environment, and social relations, While the negative features were interior environment, safety, and psychological stability.

The park in city, is more than just ecological function, contributes emotional refinement and psychological stability to citizens, and give satisfaction of social and recreational activities to the citizens. And it is the place of leisure and the place to raise up the quality of urban environment. Especially, the neighborhood park among urban parks occupies the most important position as a leisure space for local resident, but it can not perform its purpose and function as a leisure space, due to its too formal and insufficient facilities. This study, approaching from point of physical method, intends to make types through classifying each parks by built-type and installed facilities which affect human-beings, approaching from point of human-beings, intends to make the using-type analysis of park-users, and the questionnaire.By grasping of their requirements regarding to the characters and facilities what they want, willing to present the fundamental data for effective utility-activating method of small-scaled neighborhood park.

This study aims to develop a rich understanding of user goals in user-empowering information technologies which have been dominating part in the information systems environment. A particular focus is on users' goals in a social network site (SNS) which is a typical example of user-empowering technologies. Users conduct various activities in order to achieve diverse goals in SNS. Thus, investigating what goals users pursue in SNS will give insights into understanding the users. We employed the laddering interview technique and means-end chain approach. Interviews of 50 Facebook users were analyzed to produce a hierarchical goal map showing users' goal structure. The map contains 18 goals, including self-reflection, psychological stability, belongingness, improving productivity, and amusement as ultimate goals in SNS. In the map, there are varied routes from activities to ultimate goals in SNS; that is, a complex assembly consisting of activities and goals. The findings call the information systems research community to have more interests in diverse goals and values users seek with technologies.
