  • The residential and welfare facilities for the elderly are continuously increasing due to change of value on family under situation of aging population increase. And it is predicted that accommodation capacity of facilities for the elderly and its rate those facilities takes compared to whole social welfare facilities will be accelerated considering past increase speed. On the other hand, about 60% of the elderly have low physical and mental level almost close to disabled people therefore special environmental concerns helping their independent living are necessary. Among them, color application is one of the most important factors for smooth understanding, communication and psychological remedy effect for them. The purpose of this study is to analyze the interior color status in assisted living facilities for the elderly in America which is a leading country in terms of the understanding and policy for the elderly as a part of the research project to suggest the developed solution about the Korean residential welfare facilities for the elderly For this purpose, not only importance and effect of color and visual characteristics and reaction to color in elderly environment but also general concept and policy of the ‘assisted living facility’ in America were researched through documents review. And measuring of color on 5 main spaces such ; lobby/lounge, corridor, dining room, bedroom, stairway/ramp of the 10 facilities in America were performed under analysis of its functional and aesthetic level based on Moon & Spencer's color theory.

  • Intestinal microbiota is strongly connected to health of host. It has been reported that not only metabolic disease like diabetes and obesity, but psychological diseases are affected by composition of intestinal microbiota. To figure it out the importance of the composition and relationship between disease and microbiota, intensive researches have done with human and experimental animals. But, the composition of the intestinal microbiota could be affected by several factors such as experimental environments, feeding, water, and bedding. As a result, the data from each experimental group might be diverse. It also affects experiments about biological activities of plant materials. In this study, mouse intestinal bacteria were isolated from fresh feces and identified by 16S rRNA gene to use in biological activities of natural medicines. The fecal supernatant was anaerobically incubated at $37^{\circ}C$ for 48 hours. Colonies were picked up separately and incubated again in same condition to increase quantity to analyze and stock. The bacteria strains were listed up and could be used for many researches including biological activities of plant materials and change in composition of intestinal bacteria itself.

  • This study has been purposed to provide thermal comfort range in accordance with the residential style of radiant floor heating space, and to compare it with the thermal comfort range at predicted mean vote. The survey for the thermal sensation vote to the subjects and the measurement of environmental factors has been executed, and regression analysis has been performed. It is interpreted that the combination of the physical factor and the psychological factor results lower neutral point of the floor sitting style than that of the chair sitting style. There are some difference between the measured predicted mean vote and the thermal sensation vote via survey, which appears to be caused by distinctive heat transfer characteristic of floor radiant heating space, such as, high radiant temperature and contact thermal sensation of floor surface.

  • As knowledge-based society comes to the fore, sharing knowledge becomes a hot issue. Among various types of knowledge, a significance of software(applications) and contents is a huge in a current society. Moreover, along with appearance of smartphone, for instance iPhone, Application Store(also known as AppStore) utilized as a common gateway for sharing software and contents, brings a big interest for many users and developers. However, prior research to understand users' behavior on AppStore has been a scant. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of key smart service environmental factors on AppStore in order to empirically explain users' psychological feelings of intention to use AppStore. Based on a well-known technology adoption model, TAM, the study incorporates three main characteristics(user, society, and service) with six constructs(Innovation, Enjoyment, Subjective Norm, Information Level, Content variety, and Cost), influencing perceived usefulness, which then affects users' intention to use AppStore. Results provide evidence that support the tested hypotheses. The implications of the findings suggest a new theoretical work for future AppStore research and offers suggestions that the researchers and practitioners of AppStore should consider regarding the development of application and contents.
