  • When communication such as light, radio wave, or magnetic field is used underwater, the communication distance is very short, so sound waves are mainly used. However, by combining the strengths of each medium and communicating, stable communication may be possible. Underwater multi-media communication requires a protocol stack that supports it, which is very complex. To this end, this paper proposes a standard protocol stack and modeling technique to enable easy protocol stack modeling for the purpose. In fact, in this paper, a random model was created and analyzed through the proposal of modeling elements and similarity measurement methods, and as a result, it was analyzed that it was very helpful in creating a new model based on a standard model.

  • This paper has been studied on an IPv6 Protocol for Embedded Systems such as Informational Appliances and Mobile Terminals. IPv6 Protocol has 128-bit IP address space. Therefore, all devices come to have a chance of acquiring IPv6 address. This IPv6 Protocol Stack is very compact and reliable because the larger of the stack is Embedded Systems, which have typically characteristics of low cost and low performance. Hence, we designed and implemented this Stack for This Embedded Systems.

  • It is well known that, in the near future, the lifetime of the IPv4 address space will be limited and available 32-bit IP network addresses will not be left my more. In order to solve such IPv4 address space problem in an effective way, the transition to the new version using IPv6 architecture is inevitably required. This paper presents the design and implementation of IPv4/IPv6 dual stack at the GSM Phone based on Linux Kernel 2.4 IPv6 Protocol Stack. It designs appropriately in GSM Phone environment and it is tested by a network of Linux IPv4/IPv6 dual stack on PPP. The test was processed with a test scenario and it was found that the results were successful.

  • In this paper, we describe an IMT-2000 system architecture, a protocol stack, and basic MAP scenarios(e.g., registration, call delivery) based on the IS-41 and IS-41 and IS-751. This paper focuses on the MAP scenarios to support the IMSI which is defined for the global roaming between GSM and IS-41 Networks through the Family of System approach. This paper also deals with the design of the MAP protocol stack transported over the ATM networks and introduces the software structure of MAP in IMT-2000 MSC.

  • The Bluetooth is expected to be one of the most popular wireless telecommunication technology in the near future, and the protocol stack is essential to providing the various services with the Bluetooth-embedding systems or devices. The Bluetooth specification is an open, global specification defining the complete system, however, the protocol stack is usually implemented partly in hardware and partly as software running on its system, with different implementations partitioning the functionality between hardware and software in different ways. I investigate how to design and implement the Bluetooth protocol stack according to its specification. I focus on the HCI and the lower layer of the software protocol stack as a basic step for the development of our own protocol stack. As a result, paper provides how to partitioning the role of HCI layer, and how to implement the relationship between HCI packets, it's functionality and the flow control. Experiments show the discovering other Bluetooth devices and their connection. Furthermore experiments demonstrate the proper operation of data communication between the Bluetooth modules.

  • Most of today's large-scale cloud systems and enterprise data centers are distributing resources to improve scalability and resource utilization. NVMe-over-Fabric protocol allows submitting NVMe commands to a remote NVMe SSD through RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) network. It is attracting attention recently because it is possible to construct a disaggregation storage system with low latency through the protocol. However, the current I/O stack of NVMe-over-Fabric has an inefficient structure for maintaining compatibility with the traditional I/O stack. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new mechanism to reduce I/O latency and CPU overhead by modifying I/O path of NVMe-over-Fabric to pass through legacy block layer. According to the performance evaluation results, the proposed mechanism is able to reduce the I/O latency and CPU overhead by up to 22% and 24% compared to the existing NVMe-over-Fabrics protocol, respectively.

  • In this paper, a design of processor IP for TCP/IP protocol stack is described. The processor consists of input and output buffer memory with dual bank structure, 32-bit RISC microprocessor core, DMA unit with on-the-fly checksum capability. To handle the various modes of TCP/IP protocol, hardware and software co-design approach is used rather than the conventional state machine based design. To eliminate delay time due to the data transfer and checksum operation, DAM module which can execute the checksum operation on-the-fly along with data transfer operation is adopted. By programming the on-chip code ROM of RISC processor differently. the designed stack processor can support the packet format conversion operations required in the various TCP/IP protocols.

  • Recently Technology regarding VoIP (Voice over IP) is emerging over the market of the IP network. So far nothing is unfortunately there any attempt to try any research with respect to the development of the protocol stack relating to such control of gateway as MGCP, MEGACO, SIP, SDP. The reasons come from the low level of infrastructue, the shortage of the time and technology required at the moment, and so on. In this regards, this paper is focused on developing a protocol stack made with encoder/decoder, the generator of the header file etc, based on the protocol grammars of MGCP, SDP supported by IETF. For the sake of it, first develops the syntax analyzer, encoder/decoder, header file generator for encoding/decoding as applying the method of syntax-directed to each protocol grammar.

  • Accordingly it is very important to not only develop the stack of protocol, but also try an international standardization regarding the standard protocol of VoIP. Has compared to the advanced countries having already some success in commercialization, Korea is relatively much less involved in relation to this technology and endeavors. In this regards, this paper is focused on developing a protocol stack made with encoder/decoder, the generator or the header file, syntax analyzer etc. based on the protocol grammars of Session Description Protocol supported by IETF RFC2327. For the sake of it, first describe the SDP BNF grammar based on IETF RFC2327 Augmented BNF. And then we produce the Abstract Syntax Tree, header file generator for encoding/decoding as applying the method of syntax directed to SDP protocol grammar.
