적합한 Epoxy 선정을 위한 EMC 모듈의 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis of an EMC Module for Selecting Epoxy)

  • 스마트폰 배터리 사용시간이 짧아지는 문제의 해결방안으로 PMP(Protection Module Package)를 제안한다. PMP란 보호회로가 하나의 반도체로 구성하는 것을 의미한다. 이번 연구에서는 유한요소 해석을 통하여 EMC 모듈의 적합한 Epoxy 재질을 선정하기 위한 기반연구를 수행하였다. 먼저 굽힘강도 해석을 통하여 외부 힘에 대한 응력을 비교하였다. 다음 열해석에서, 계산한 발열량을 사용하여 EMC 모듈의 내부 부품의 온도 변화를 비교한다. 마지막으로, 충전률은 EMC 모듈 내의 용융된 에폭시를 주입하여 비교하였다.

  • The MOV(Metal Oxide Varistor), a voltage limiting element, has been installed in the SPD(Surge Protective Device) or inside the internal circuit of an electronic appliance for protection of the electric power system and electronic device against electrical surge. Such an MOV is exposed, however, to the risk of the thermal runaway resulting from excessive voltage and deterioration. In this paper, a reciprocal action has been tested and analyzed using a phosphorus bronze switching module and the low-temperature solder. And a short current break characteristic test linked with the circuit breaker has been performed to limit the inrush current when the MOV breaks down. It has been proven that the phosphorus bronze switching module installed inside the internal circuit can improve the safety of the power line system and the electronic device.

  • This is a thesis that 100W class open frame type power module of a quarter-brick size appropriate for telecommunication is reported. The input voltage is established between 36 and 75 in range in order for power module to be utilized for the telecommunication, and output were set at 3.3V and 30A. A number of parts used for transformer, inductor, and hit sink are composed of PCB in order for DC-DC converter to be lowered below 8 mm. A constant current control circuit was annexed to the system as well as basic protection prototypes such as over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature were well considered to enhance more credibility, and were tested. As a result, high circuit performance and credibility turned out to be significant.

  • The design of a battery package and a BMS module for applications using seawater rechargeable batteries, which are known as next-generation energy storage devices, is proposed herein. Seawater rechargeable batteries, which are currently in the initial stage of research, comprise primarily components such as anode and cathode materials. Their application is challenging owing to their low charge capacity and limited charge/discharge voltage and current. Therefore, we design a method for packaging multiple cells and a BMS module for the safe charging and discharging of seawater rechargeable batteries. In addition, a prototype seawater rechargeable battery package and BMS module are manufactured, and their performances are verified by evaluating the prevention of overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, and short circuit during charging and discharging.

  • To prevent accidents caused by changes in the surrounding environment or other factors, various protection facilities are installed at the photovoltaic connection module. The main causes of fire are sparks due to foreign substances inside the photovoltaic connection module through high temperature rise and dew condensation in the photovoltaic connection module, and fire due to heat from the power diode. The proposed method can predict the fire by measuring flame, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, temperature, humidity, input voltage, and current on the photovoltaic connection module, and when the fire conditions are reached, fire alarm and power off can be sent to managers and users in real time to prevent fire in advance.

  • 본 논문은 140W 급 저면적 LED 전원 제어 회로 설계를 위해 다양한 기능이 집적된 HIC를 제안한다. 제안된 HIC는 정전압/정전류 구동회로, 단락 보호회로, 내부 정전압회로, dimmer 회로를 하나로 집적해, 제작 시 기존 시스템 대비 PCB 가로 길이를 16% 절감하는 효과를 보였다. 다양한 실험을 통해 HIC 내부에 설계된 각 블록의 성능을 검증했고, (정전압 구동회로 변동률 2.9%, dimmer 회로 오차 5%이내, 720 mA에서 안정적인 short protection) 제안된 HIC를 적용해 시스템에서 필요로 하는 전력 대비 PCB 면적을 상당히 줄일 수 있기 때문에, 제작 시간의 대부분을 차지하는 PCB 제조시간을 단출할 수 있는 효과와 전원 제어 회로에서 발생하는 불량에 대해 기존과 같이 PCB 전체를 교체하지 않고 HIC만 교체할 수 있도록 하여 유지/보수를 쉽게 할 수 있는 효과를 기대한다.

  • Pulsed power systems consist of a capacitor bank, an isolated high-voltage charging power-supply, high-current bus-work for charging and discharging and a control system. In such pulsed power systems, the operating-lifetime of the capacitors is closely dependent on the voltage reversal. Hence, most capacitor-discharging systems includes crowbar circuits. The crowbar circuit prevents the capacitor recharging with reverse voltage. Usually it consists of crowbar resistors and high pulse-current diode-stacks connected in series. The requirements for the diode-stacks are fast-recovery time and high-voltage and large-current ratings, which results in the high cost of the pulsed-power system. This paper presents a protection scheme of a charging and discharging system of a 500kJ capacitor bank using a low-cost crowbar circuit and safety-fuses.

고온 및 단락전류에 따른 리튬배터리의 폭발 및 화재 위험성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Explosion and Fire Risks of Lithium Batteries Due to High Temperature and Short Circuit Current)

  • 본 논문은 리튬배터리의 고온 및 단락전류에 따른 폭발 및 화재 위험성을 분석하기 위한 연구이다. 이에 대표적인 리튬배터리 종류인 리튬폴리머배터리 및 리튬이온배터리를 실험시료로 선정하였다. 고온에 따른 폭발위험성 측정결과 리튬폴리머배터리의 경우 평균 $170^{\circ}C$, 리튬이온배터리의 경우 평균 $187^{\circ}C$에서 폭발이 일어났다. 단락전류에 따른 온도상승측정결과 보호회로가 정상작동 할 경우 과전류를 제한하여 온도상승이 거의 없었지만, 보호회로가 고장 났을 경우 리튬폴리머배터리의 경우 평균 $115.7^{\circ}C$ 및 리튬이온배터리 경우 평균 $80.5^{\circ}C$까지 상승하여 화재 및 화상 위험성이 높게 나타나는 것으로 측정되었다.
